Aaaaaaaaand we're back on topic!

Actually, at the store I frequent in Xenia, the "secret" subs show up on my receipt as the actual sub I ordered, and I've been told that they can make the sub as long as they still have the button for it, meaning that they have to be able to ring it up that way. And if you've worked at a Subway in recent years, you should know that the Chicken Pizziola uses the strips, not the breast patty. (There was briefly a $5 footlong that used the breast patty and marinara sauce without the pepperoni, but I don't recall what it's name was.) And toasted tuna is indeed gross. In fact, it's the only sub that I don't toast.

Taco Bell is the same way. For a long time after it was "discontinued", I continued to order the Grande Soft Taco even though it was no longer on the menu. When my local restaurant remodeled, though, they got new registers which eliminated the button for it, meaning they could no longer give it to me. I now stick to the Chicken Cantina Burrito with no pico de gallo. Subway is the same way as well. Practically any sub that's been offered in the past as a limited-time promotional item can still be prepared as long as they have the ingredients for it. The Chicken Pizziola is one of my favorites.

Blast Off at Darien Lake
jcgoble3 replied to TheCrypt's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Herschend used that name for the nighttime show at Celebration City in 2008; four years prior to Luminosity. Why should Cedar Fair care if Herschend recycles its own name? I was not aware of that. Interesting. So the question then becomes: what did Herschend think of Cedar Fair using the name? -
I don't think that gas was that cheap around the park in 2009 when this tour was. Premium gas in that picture appears to be $2-something, so I'm guessing $1.87 or possibly $1.82. This was not long after the late 2008 gas price collapse where gas fell from over $4.00 to as low as $1.50 in places, so those figures sound reasonably accurate.

That topic probably exists as well. I'll bet it's buried in the Polls section.

Probably one involving a sister. Pat Koch could clean things up.

I believe a major reason (correct me if I'm wrong) that was mentioned by someone at Cedar Fair and discussed at least briefly on here was that WindSeeker utilized stiff metal arms as opposed to the StarFlyer's flexible chains, which Cedar Fair believed would allow it to operate in higher winds. If I'm not mistaken, it turned out to be the opposite.

Of all the things to debate, whether a video is real or animated is one of the last ones I thought I'd see on here tonight. Is everybody bored?
-
The topic is about youtube videos, not the people who made them Really? When the sentence says who makes and the topic is about video makers? Hmm one wonders whats next on the excuse list. I believe he meant that this topic is about individual videos, not the topic you linked to.

All YouTube videos are h.264 mpeg4 files. They can be played on any device or program that supports this format, regardless of whether Flash is available. When viewed from anything other than a Desktop web browser, Flash is definitely not used. Ah. Thanks for the correction.
-
I believe all YouTube videos, regardless of where they are embedded or viewed from, use Flash.

Even the benches in the designated smoking area by Skyflyer?

Just speaking for myself, I enjoy the ride, but certainly wouldn't miss it if it's gone. That's purely my own opinion based solely on how I feel about it as a coaster enthusiast. I completely understand your point, but I purposely did not consider anyone else's perspective when answering that portion of the poll because the question asked what I want based on my opinion of the ride, not what I felt others would want. Taking all things into consideration, a fix would IMO be preferable for the reasons you laid out.

But the VIP fireworks viewing is still there, and we know that there are no fireworks during Haunt. So logic dictates that Thunder Alley was not removed simply because the season for that attraction is over, because if that was the case, the fireworks viewing would be gone as well. Thus, I suspect that we may indeed have seen the last of Thunder Alley.

"Ignite the Night"? For a nighttime show? Somehow, I doubt Cedar Fair will be amused by that. -
I would not be surprised if we have seen the end of the WindSeekers. I could care less whether they do open again, but it's not worth the effort. I just hope Cedar Fair makes a decision on the WindSeekers faster than Son of Beast. Ideally, we should have a decision either way (fix or scrap) by next spring.

You just got me VERY excited for when I make it up there this upcoming Friday. I am a bit upset by the length of the house, but then again, the room is huge. Just PLEASE, do not give away If you must, do so using the spoiler button. I am looking forward to this experience and don't want it spoiled! Same here on being excited. No spoilers, please!

2012 Halloween Haunt Lineup Announced!
jcgoble3 replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
In the past on FOF, I've handed stuff like bags and souvenir cups to the ride operator checking restraints. They take them and put them on shelves at the back of the station (what TTD-120-420 referred to; not visible from the queues). After getting off, head down the hall until you see a sign pointing to the left for "Item Storage and Pickup Area" (also the Fast Lane entrance). Your items will be waiting there. I've never been told that I couldn't bring something in line on FOF. -
Look at the date on that blog post. This is old news. In fact, it's probably been posted about here on KIC months ago.

2012 Halloween Haunt Lineup Announced!
jcgoble3 replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
Yes for both shows and fear zones/scare zones/whatever they're called. Just be prepared for the possibility of a monster two inches from your face when you take the camera away (you probably already have one, but this is where I would recommend a secure wrist or neck strap in case you drop the camera when you get startled). Most rides, yes. Firehawk is the lone exception. On that coaster, only flip-flops, prescription glasses, and souvenir cups can be left in the station, and other loose objects like camera bags are not permitted in line. You can leave your camera with a non-rider or rent a locker by the hour immediately outside the entrance. Last time I checked, a small locker was $1/hour with a minimum 2-hour rental, but that's changed a few times this season. Firehawk also has horrible capacity and thus long waits, so be prepared to wait an hour or more even on a fairly slow day.
