  1. So the major bombshell tonight was that it was the FIRST of TWO major announcements this summer. A second announcement is coming in mid-August, and AFAIK, we have zero hints so far. That is, unless some of the tweets and other social media posts from the park that we couldn't figure out how they related to what we now know as Mystic Timbers instead have something to do with this second announcement. Anyway, just when you thought decoding was over for the year, it's BONUS ROUND TIME! To copy some of the guidelines over from this year's first decoding thread: Finally, please note this this thread is NOT a place to discuss Mystic Timbers construction. For that, please see the Mystic Timbers Construction Progress thread: http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php/topic/32259-mystic-timbers-constuction-progress/ Happy decoding (again)!
  2. On second thought, I'm going to start a new thread for the second announcement so that discussion doesn't get lost in here.
  3. *CGI equivalent. Ba dum tsh. Pretty much. And LOL at the CGI comment. But this thread is not done yet. Thread title change commencing...
  4. You're in the back half of the line. Front is at the back edge of the Crypt building. [emoji14]
  5. Yeah, sorry Ryan, but we need some tighter moderation on these boards. I've reported several obvious troll posts recently with apparently no action taken. The amount of trolling is beginning to drive regulars like me away from KIC. There have been times this summer when I did not go through posts on KIC for several days at a time because I wasn't in the mood to deal with the trolling. Something needs to be done.
  6. Also, if you are posting information that you claim to be confirmed, the TOS require you to post the source. So please either link to the source, or retract your claim.
  7. I won't believe you until I get a link so that I can judge the trustworthiness and reliability of the source for myself. EDIT: Yeah, what they said.
  8. This. I'm more confused right now than I have been at any point this season. EDIT: And with that, we are OVER 9000!!!!!
  9. Banshee also has a test seat, and as someone above mentioned, rows 4 and 5 are modified to accommodate larger riders. So if you're close, but not able to fit in another row on Banshee, give row 4 or 5 a try.
  10. Or perhaps the area behind the Crypt building is just being used to test things and make sure they work, with those items then being taken down set up somewhere else late Wednesday night/early Thursday morning for the announcement.
  11. Don't feed the trolls. Just hit the report button like I did.
  12. Google Maps (the service accessed through a web browser) always shows a copyright date of the current year. To get the date on which the satellite photos were actually taken, you need Google Earth (the program you download and install to your hard drive). In this case, Google Earth shows an imagery date of October 9, 2015.
  13. No. Shake, Rattle, and Roll disappeared midseason in 2014, and returned at the beginning of 2015 with an all-new paint scheme and light package. The reference to it is by people wondering if the same is going to happen to Zephyr, which is currently partially dismantled as the photos show.. EDIT: What ^ she said.
  14. Admit it. You just want a new view during your White Water Canyon geyser sessions.
  15. I personally went to the city and took a look at them. Even posted my own pictures in this thread. This is something they will just bust out and show you? I find that kinda hard to believe to be honest. No offense!!! Any plans filed with the city are public record, meaning that the general public has the legal right to access and view them. Several people from here have been to city hall to obtain copies of the plans.
  16. BUT IS IT PLAYING PARK-WIDE?!?!?! jcgoble3, screaming since the question was ignored twice
  17. GCI isn't COMPLETELY without issues. Gwazi is SBNO. I still think it could be either one. I may be mistaken, but I believe it's been said on here in the past that BGT's staff simply didn't know how to properly maintain a wooden coaster. If so, that's entirely on the park staff, and not GCI's fault. I'm still baffled that I got a flyer at parking tolls advertising the location of the announcement when I pulled in at noon, and yet apparently nobody else here did. Did they not have the flyers ready before the park opened? I know for Banshee's announcement, I arrived before the gates opened, and they had the flyers advertising the announcement ready to hand out at that time. Hopefully they'll get their act together this time and have them ready before the tolls open.
  18. It hasn't slowed down, though it occasionally pauses briefly and jumps two seconds at once, but maybe that's just on my computer. However, I did the math, and it's actually counting down to 10:30 PM Thursday, not 10:00 PM. I wonder why...
  19. If I remember correctly, the decoding thread for Banshee remained active throughout construction? I could be wrong... The "Starting to Decode 2014" thread was locked late on the night of the announcement, replaced with the new "Banshee Construction Progress" thread. Both of those threads are linked in this thread's OP for reference.
  20. After that scathing review (which I generally agree with), I am waiting with bated breath for The Interpreter to offer an opinion.
  21. Announced today on the Disney Parks Blog: https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2016/07/guardians-of-the-galaxy-mission-breakout-coming-to-disney-california-adventure-park-summer-2017/ Introduction video with some concept art: The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at Disney California Adventure will close in early 2017 to make way for the transformation, with Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! scheduled to open later that summer.
  22. Last year? That wing coaster tease was way back in 2013, about a week before Banshee was announced.
  23. ^ I just dug back into the forums to find out. 2014 Kings Island season passes went on sale on the morning of August 30, 2013, approximately three weeks after Banshee was announced.
