  1. http://local12.com/news/local/homegrown-plants-flowers-decorate-kings-island-grounds The video is well worth watching for an inside look at the Kings Island greenhouses. The cactus is particularly interesting.
  2. Huh? They were introduced at Kings Island in 2014. I had a dining plan both of the last two years.
  3. For several years, food service locations not on International Street have closed one hour before the park itself closes. Those non-IS locations also typically open one hour after the park opens.
  4. Darn clickbait. But yeah, bacon. Bacon bacon bacon bacon bacon. I'm just mad that Canada beat the U.S. to this idea.
  5. I've been following the Facebook page for the Dayton (original) location since shortly before it opened. However, I have not yet found both the time and money simultaneously to go there. I would certainly be interested in an offseason meetup, regardless of whether it's in Dayton or Milford.
  6. At least it looks a lot better than the former grocery store half a mile from my house that's been converted into a church.
  7. CP Food Blog post: New Cedar Point Self-Service Kiosks: http://cpfoodblog.com/new-cedar-point-self-service-kiosks/ Think this would work to help solve the problems at Kings Island? Or would this just create more headaches and more problems?
  8. Huh, didn't know it was new. I actually had the Heinz BBQ sauce yesterday at IMS with my chicken tenders, along with their honey mustard. The chicken was surprisingly good, and the sauces were good enough. Someone please help me; what in the world does IMS stand for? Probably Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
  9. As someone born in 1987, I sometimes wonder the same thing about me....
  10. Well, crap. I STILL have not been able to successfully snap a set of flying scooters, and it looks like I will now need to go somewhere other than Kings Island for any further attempts.
  11. I saw a report on Facebook that snapping was banned on Woodstock Gliders? Somebody please tell me that isn't true.
  12. That is essentially what is being referred to when people say "green Intamin track". It was a completely unsubstantiated and false rumor that originated from a post here on KIC during the original Decoding thread. It was determined pretty quickly to be nothing more than an attempt to troll, and has been a running inside joke on KIC ever since. The green B&M track, of which pictures were posted and which is therefore not false or trolling, is completely separate from that, and any similarity to the "green Intamin track" is purely a coincidence.
  13. Yeah, no need to poop on this thread.
  14. I'm sure the Secret Service is already aware of the neighborhood and is planning for it, given that he's already scheduled to speak at a convention across the parking lot from Kentucky Kingdom that day. Not to mention that said convention is for the NRA, and thus will be host to probably thousands of lawfully armed citizens, of whom I'd guess the vast majority are Republican (or at least conservative). Thus, my fear would be for the safety of any idiot that attempts something stupid.
  15. Believe it or not, Trump does not wear a toupee. The hair on his head is his actual, natural hair, just with a weird style.
  16. To be honest, it almost took longer for Google Earth to start up than it took me to gather that information. About 20 seconds to start it up, click my saved shortcut for Kings Island, and pan to Action Theater, then 30 seconds to gather that information from the interface.
  17. There's no room for expansion behind the theater and Racer turnarounds. Directly behind the theater, there is roughly a 50-foot drop-off (according to Google Earth's elevation display), and directly behind that drop off is The Beast's second hill. The area between Vortex, The Beast's first lift, and the Red Racer turnaround also is roughly 30 feet lower than the surrounding land that the aforementioned rides sit on. To the other side of The Racer, east of the Blue Racer turnaround, expansion is blocked by Dinosaurs Alive! and, to a lesser extent, a clearing that I assume is the fireworks launch site. (I say "to a lesser extent" because that would be more easily moved than any of the other obstacles I've mentioned, but it's still something to consider.)
  18. Nice! I did note that Don said to follow the park on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. He did not say Snapchat. Interpret that however you want. EDIT: That's very strange. When you posted the video link, it didn't embed. But when I quoted you, it did embed. What kind of black magic is this?
  19. I rode Vortex twice last year, and got an instant headache both times. So yes, it's rough. It's also the one coaster at KI that I simply will not ride, for that reason.
  20. Question: If a coaster offers the option of a VR experience, but it is not mandatory, can you ride once with VR and once without, and then claim two credits? Or are they the same credit? jcgoble3, fully aware that he may be starting a flame war
  21. Great video. Been cool to have been on it when it happened. Probably be the only interesting ride on Iron Dragon I ever had. Has to be one of the most boring coasters I have been on. The video description says that the train was empty when it happened, as it was a morning test run. Though, if it had been occupied, I do wonder exactly how they would go about evacuating that train where it stopped, considering that it was over water at the time.
