  1. That article drives me so crazy, because it talks about costs in terms of a single-day ticket. It complains about a single-day Park Hopper ticket plus Early Morning Magic costing $900 for a family of four. But how many people really buy single-day tickets? I would imagine that the vast majority of people buy multi-day tickets, which results in a MAJOR reduction in per-day costs over a single-day ticket. So the cost calculations in that article are way off from reality. (And if you're that person who does buy single-day tickets, either you have a lot of money to waste, or you're doing it wrong.)
  2. I might take advantage of that, though I don't know whether I would use the second day or not. Probably it depends on whether I do an overnight stay for the Pokémon TCG Nationals in Columbus or make the roughly one-hour commute back and forth each day.
  3. Then explain why Cedar Point allows their water rides to be ridden barefoot. Also, with regard to wet clothes and shoes: this is why I wear a shirt and shorts made of quick-dry material if I think I even might ride a water ride. This is also why I wear sandals without socks, and I make sure to buy sandals that won't be damaged by water (i.e. no leather).
  4. Then I won't give him a click. Better yet, perhaps I should give him a click, thereby eating up his bandwidth while Adblock Plus prevents him from profiting off of my click....
  5. I got that credit as a little kid. But yeah, it would be neat if parks that do enthusiast events would throw us credit counters a bone by lifting the max height restriction on their kiddie coaster for ERT. (Assuming that they can do so safely, of course.)
  6. Some people here have done just that. I found this tidbit most interesting (emphasis added): Cue speculation about Kings Island Winterfest?
  7. Look to your avatar for the answer. Seriously though, HoliWood Nights is always an awesome event. With the general mess at last year's Coastermania and the significant changes this year, it's a bit of an unknown quantity. If I were planning to go to one of them, I'd hit HWN and wait for the reviews of Coastermania to see if it's worth heading north next year.
  8. This. jcgoble3, who has adopted the "scroll quickly" method of dealing with these posts
  9. When it's not malfunctioning, it closes every night.
  10. I actually enjoy having people near me screaming their heads off. I tend to smile more and have more fun on a ride when I'm sitting near a screamer. Don't ask me why; I have no clue.
  11. See my previous post. This is not any of the Six Flags VR coasters, or even anything in the United States. That post is specifically about Galactica at Alton Towers in the United Kingdom. The use of meters (and the British spelling "metres") for the minimum height was my first clue.
  12. That sign about mandatory VR is not from any Six Flags park. It is Galactica at Alton Towers. Here's an announcement story from back in January: http://www.engadget.com/2016/01/12/alton-towers-galactica-vr-ride/ More information on Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galactica_%28roller_coaster%29
  13. I wasn't around for Diamondback, but as for Banshee, there were footings in the ground on opening day. IIRC, we knew nothing of any construction until the park opened and people saw it in person.
  14. I still think they should have taken my suggestion from several years ago and made Soak City's line-skipping pass a separate product called Splash Lane. jcgoble3, who may or may not be serious (after all, today is... [signal lost])
  15. It's friday the 13th He stated "all but the first one". There are multiple passholder ERT nights scheduled throughout the year.
  16. Your link has an extra space at the end (which seems to be happening a lot here lately). Here's a working link: https://www.visitkingsisland.com/things-to-do/fast-lane-32615_32702
  17. ^ Intentionally, or via the player picking them up and dropping them in the lake to the north?
  18. ...but don't hurry through North Carolina. jcgoble3, cross-threading
  19. And if he's referring to that, then he's likely confusing it with the May 13 Gold Pass ERT night, at which Blackout will indeed be open.
  20. I'm pretty sure I used it on preview night last year.

  22. ...which is indeed something Stricker's has. They don't have a lot of choices, but what they do have is excellent and low priced. After all, they allow you to bring in your own food, so they have to compete with packed lunches.
  23. If you love driving and the open road, and have a car that can withstand such heavy use, then no. Otherwise, yes, you're crazy.
  24. So you can no longer just drop a buck on a cheap game and move on? You HAVE to spend a minimum of $5 in order to play any games at all? That's stupid.
  25. Indeed. Looks like the system defaulted to UTC because someone failed to properly set the time zone.
