I'm confused. How does the computer know whose account to add the pictures to? Do they have RFID sensors in every seat of the ride? What if someone is holding the arm with the MagicBand on it out across someone else's seat at the moment the computer attempts to sense the bands? I don't understand how this works.

Great pictures. I can feel the magic just by looking at them. I'm looking forward to the rest of the report!

Except that IIRC the petting zoo is going in way back where Peanuts Playhouse used to be in the back of Planet Snoopy. That's a long way to lead those animals to and from the petting zoo each day, and and even longer if an animal suddenly needs care in the middle of the operating day and they have to use backstage areas. It would make far more sense to build a new structure near that area, which is reasonable since they are also upgrading the Picnic Grove and the back of Peanuts Playhouse butted up against the side of the Picnic Grove. Curiously, I just looked at the original press release that Don gave me on a USB drive right after the announcement to verify whether Peanuts Playhouse was being removed, and the release actually does not make any mention of the petting zoo whatsoever. Odd.

Since the information is out, here's the website: http://escapetheroomchallenge.com/ -
Yeah, on the right side of the bridge (the side closest to the station) I've seen huge puddles of water as much as an inch deep. But some people are so thick headed that you have to beat it into them with a giant fluorescent orange sign.

For future reference, and for those without Flash, the live construction cam feed has been replaced with this still image: (from Holiday World's Thunderbird Construction Cam) Sounds like they're testing!

Actually, I don't think there is. There are two signs, one facing each way on the respective approaches, saying that the wave may steal your glasses, but I don't think there's one that actually says "you will get wet".

I already know what this is, along with everyone else who showed up on time at EnterTRAINment Junction back on 1/31. But I won't spoil the secret. (Lest I lead people down the wrong path, let me be clear that this has nothing to do with trains, real or model.) -
Could KI (and other Cedar Fair properties) finally be getting WiFi?
jcgoble3 replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
I think he was referring to the side discussion that I started about the phone charging lockers in the Festhaus, not a potential Wi-Fi network. -
Great report! We'd love to hear about your experience at Magic Mountain as well.

IMO, last year such a seat on The Racer was rougher than 6-3 on The Beast.

Could KI (and other Cedar Fair properties) finally be getting WiFi?
jcgoble3 replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
And for those that aren't aware, late last season they quietly placed a completely free phone charging stand along the back wall of the Festhaus, on the LaRosa's side. It had a few lockers just large enough for a phone, with charging connectors inside. Rather than having to keep track of a PIN code or a normal key, you used your credit card as your key, though nothing was charged to the card. I used it on both of the last two days of operation for a midday recharge, and they worked great. -

Ah. In other words, it's not open to the general public? -

Kings Island has Wi-Fi in Soak City? That's news to me. -

Changes to 2015 dining plans (Update: not happening)
jcgoble3 replied to malem's topic in Kings Island
The PDF with operating hours is linked from Cedar Point's website on the Dining Plans page. Information there doesn't necessarily apply to Kings Island. Kings Island's dining plan page says that operating hours vary by location. And at least last year, most food locations serving meal-type food (i.e. not just snacks), excluding some on International Street, did not open until 11:00 am and closed one hour before the park (at least; Hank's Burrito Shack sometimes closed much earlier). So don't expect to get anything to eat right before the park closes, unless you plan to wait in line at I-Street LaRosa's behind the idiots that buy $25 whole pizzas to take home. -
Just what we need: another amusement park filled with bouncing basketballs and people chasing after stray balls. Not to mention that given the park's location, there's a higher-than-usual chance of people doing something... how do I put this gently... improper with them.

Gold/Platinum Pass Holder Benefits OUTSIDE of Kings Island
jcgoble3 replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
Well, then that question is answered. The question of why I get redirected to a third-party national website that doesn't have half or more of the so-called "most popular" deals and has very little local is still unanswered. -
Gold/Platinum Pass Holder Benefits OUTSIDE of Kings Island
jcgoble3 replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
Has anyone else gotten frustrated with the passholder perks site? I just tried to look through it and see what local deals were there, but all I get that's local is a few deals judged to be "most popular", a section on lodging that is purely self-promotional (Castaway Bay and Hotel Breakers), and an "entertainment" section that does nothing but give me four buttons that all lead to the exact same generic third-party website, from where I can find very little in the way of local deals. The EnterTRAINment Junction or Cincinnati Cyclones deals that we used on Saturday are not listed anywhere that I can find, nor can I find most of the allegedly "most popular" deals on that third-party website (so how'd they become "most popular" if they can't be found anywhere else?). Help? -

I wonder if the Federal Trade Commission would be interested in a bait-and-switch complaint. -

To offer a different perspective, not everyone eats "lunch" and "dinner" at the traditional times because sleeping schedules vary. I'm getting ready right now to go to Taco Bell, and will consider that "lunch" because I rolled out of bed at 3pm this afternoon. I will probably eat "dinner" around 2am or 3am tonight. Another person might commonly eat lunch around 6 to 7pm and dinner around midnight. That person, having previously purchased a dining plan, would reasonably expect to be able to show up on a Haunt night and get lunch and dinner, as defined by his schedule, around 7pm and 11:30pm respectively. Forcing those who have oddball sleeping schedules (and few people freely choose to maintain such a schedule, instead having it imposed on them by their job and/or a medical condition) to conform to traditional meal times is not good. In the best-case scenario, some of these people will choose not to purchase a dining plan and will eat outside the park instead. In the worst-case scenario, there is the slim possibility that a person with an actual medical condition could file a lawsuit under the Americans with Disabilities Act. (Insert "I am not a lawyer" disclaimer here.) -
Tapatalk would not create revenue from website ads, but they have their own advertisement/monetization system for forum owners (which Dane might want to look into if he hasn't already). Note that those who paid for Tapatalk Pro (previously Tapatalk 4) before Pro was discontinued now have VIP benefits in the free app, meaning (among other things) that they do not see ads on any forum, even if the forum owner has enabled them. I am one of those users, since I bought Tapatalk 4 right after release when it was on sale for $0.99 and there was no free version (other than the no-longer-supported public beta). The blue "KI" favicon has been there for a while, but it and the InvisionPower logo have been fighting each other for supremacy for years. Sometimes the IP logo shows up, sometimes the custom KI one. I never know which one I'm going to get. Right now, this page is showing me the KI icon, but my bookmark that points to the root of the forums is currently showing the IP logo.
