http://www.holidayworld.com/holiblog/2014/11/14/hard-hat-tour-14news/ Wow. 57 of 77 track pieces are already in place, and that number may have increased in the past few hours. They are moving fast on construction.

Coaster Crew posted on Facebook this morning that they are doing away with their "regular" $10/year membership option, in order to "stay competitive with other Coaster Enthusiast Clubs, and to become more reputable to Parks to be included in their sponsored events" and also for the purpose of "satisfying some parks policies on membership prices allowing club members to be apart of park held events such as CoasterStock, Holliwood Nights, and select Media Days." This change is effective December 1. There will now be just one membership option, which will be $25/year for a single person plus an additional $5 for each additional member in the same household at the same address. This new membership structure will come with more perks, including but not limited to: Existing "regular" (non-Platinum) memberships will be grandfathered in, and an option will be available to upgrade such a membership to the new system.

Welcome to KIC!

Got it. Thanks!

Let me see if I've got this straight: Constant is adjusted for inflation, while nominative is not?
-
^ I'll bite: what is the difference between nominative and constant dollar terms?

Winterfest Wishes and Ideas- A Way to Bring It Back
jcgoble3 replied to Skyrider's topic in Kings Island
SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY! Seriously, I have not had a proper s'more since I was in Cub Scouts. I've been camping a few times since then, but only by myself at Lake Rudolph next door to Holiday World, and I don't trust myself with a campfire, so I haven't had an opportunity to properly roast a marshmallow over an open fire and assemble a real s'more since childhood. I've eaten a few store-bought imitations that were decent, but they can't hold a candle to the real thing. -
Winterfest Wishes and Ideas- A Way to Bring It Back

Uh, no, the original Winterfest started well before Paramount took over, and ended at about the same time Paramount bought the park. CBS (not Paramount) brought it back for a single year to showcase the park for sale. -
OK, I see where you're coming from, and I totally understand and agree with that view. What I was trying to get at with the "how desirable" question was just how much you personally are interested in the new stuff, without taking into account what you think other people will think (i.e. if you don't like funnel cake, then for purposes of this question, you're not interested in everything, even if you like the fact that other people will be interested in the new funnel cake stand). But I can see where that may not have been clear now. However, since some people may have already voted with varying understandings of the question, I will just leave the question open to interpretation rather than editing a clarification into the poll itself.

Speaking of The Beach Mountain, there's a Groupon deal here. It's $17/person for two hours of snow tubing and a 12-ounce hot chocolate (with blackout dates), and can be purchased for 1, 2, or 4 people. That's better than even the weekend group rates. The Groupon is only available through Saturday night, though, so anyone wanting it will have to act quickly. (During the spring and summer, the waterpark side repeatedly ran the same admission deal over and over on Groupon, so it is possible that this deal may be repeated. But that is not guaranteed.)

I struggled to come up with a good progression of options, and knew that they weren't going to be perfect. I probably should have just done a simple number scale, but what's done is done, and it's too late to change the options. For the record, my own votes were: 8 Some pretty good stuff, but I'm not interested in everything (I don't have kids and don't eat funnel cakes, so the Jump Around and new funnel cake stand are things that I personally have no interest in) Exactly what Kings Island needed; they really know how to run an amusement park Great addition; any snappable scooters are fine by me

Awesome article, indeed. Plenty of history in there. Since that article will eventually fall off the home page, here's a direct link to it for the permanent record.

Hopefully this is only a reference to T3, and not a reference to their bottom line.

Awesome, freaks76! I don't know how good your memory is, but I gave you a high five as you were exiting the station. I was wearing a Gatekeeper jacket, gloves, and glasses. I hope you stick around and post some more on here! I promise we don't bite!

As another user posted above, please include a direct link to the original source when posting official photos from the park's social media presences. This has been specifically requested by the park.

I've thought about this since the first big milestone this year, and I'm guessing that they count from the front of the train to the back, and left to right in each row. It's the only method that makes sense to me.

Meh. I've been done with Internet Exploder since 2009. There are no typos in this post.
-
Did you recently "upgrade" to Internet Exploder 11? IE 11 has a known bug that prevents the quote feature from working properly. The workaround is to use a real browser like Firefox or Chrome.

Surprised nobody's done this yet. At 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 1 in the Festhaus, Kings Island announced several new attractions and improvements for 2015. See this thread for details and discussion. What's your opinion of the new stuff? Vote above!
