  1. Be aware that the list of approved coaster clubs for CoasterMania! has been significantly shortened. Coaster Crew was one of the clubs cut from the list. The only domestic clubs approved this year are ACE, Club TPR, GOCC, and CoasterBuzz. Also, be aware that the "regular" membership level with Coaster Crew has been discontinued, and only Platinum memberships are offered now.
  2. ^ If you dropped them, are you going to pick them up?
  3. ...like Paul McCartney? jcgoble3, shaking his head at the ignorance of certain people
  4. I am not the target market for this. I found a park bench to be superior to ShieKra.
  5. Precisely my point. I hope to have them posted by the end of the offseason.
  6. My dad uncovered a stack of old photo prints of me at KI in the early Paramount days, from multiple visits. I need to stop being lazy and sort, scan, and upload them. I hope to have that done within the next month or two.
  7. One small forum that I used to post on years ago had a server crash and lost the database. When they tried to load the backup, they found out that all available backups were severely corrupted and unrepairable, and because of limited storage space, all of the older, non-corrupted backups had been deleted/overwritten. The result was that every single post and every single user account, almost three years' worth, was permanently lost; nothing was available on Google or the Internet Archive because of restrictions they had in their robots.txt file. They had to completely start over from scratch. Traffic was significantly lower afterward, and they never recovered to the level of activity that they had had before the crash before I stopped posting there. I'd be surprised if they still exist. Moral of the story: backup scripts are not "set it and forget it". The backups need to be regularly checked for errors.
  8. Actually, I've been staying away for a few days because I was having nonstop problems getting on here. Hopefully this has been fixed by going to the backup.
  9. Great job so far! As a note, saving partial posts and then editing the rest in to avoid losing things is not really the best way to do it, as when you edit the rest in, it doesn't mark the thread unread, and those who saw the partial post won't be notified that the rest is available. Instead of going that route, one suggestion I could make is to prepare the report in your favorite word processor, where you can save the file to your hard drive or flash drive to your heart's content, then copying and pasting into the forums when you're done. If you don't like that idea, the other suggestion I have is simply to double-post, which from what I've seen generally seems to be OK for longform trip reports. Whatever way you choose, this is a fantastic report so far, and I look forward to the rest!
  10. Ketchup is ketchup to me. I don't eat it. On the rare occasions that I do eat fries, I eat them either plain, with Steak 'n' Shake's Fry Seasoning, or covered in Cincinnati-style chili and shredded cheese.
  11. This. I hate being on one side of the fountains and having to walk down, around, and back up to get to something on the other side.
  12. The Accesso store may not use Flash anymore, but when I opened it, I did get a message from Firefox asking if I wanted to allow it to run Silverlight. I don't know what that was about, but from the little poking around I did, it seems to work fine without allowing Silverlight.
  13. There is a Roosters here in Xenia. I have never been inside, and probably never will. Not my kind of place.
  14. 2015's Opening Day will most likely be on a Saturday. Passholders who renewed in the fall will have access to a preview night on the preceding Friday. 2014's calendar was influenced by an abnormally late Easter and by the debut of Banshee. This year's calendar might be different. For reference, in 2015 Easter will be on April 5.
  15. Via Great Ohio Coaster Club on Facebook I've never been to a Quaker Steak and Lube. Is it any good? Who from here has been to one?
  16. But is your home bathroom any cleaner? And how often do you wash your hand towels?
  17. I still hold out hope, however slim, that Gwazi Tiger will still reopen and I can get down there to ride it while it's open. My lone visit to BGT was just days after Tiger was closed down, so I am missing that credit. But it looks like I probably will never get that credit.
  18. The other options were looking a little lonely, so I voted orange just to be different. In reality, hunter green would rock.
  19. That exact quote, save an update to the "as of" date and a single grammar correction, has been present verbatim in the article since April 11, 2013. So that claim does not refer to the new rumor that just came up with the past couple of days.

Threads with photos have an annoying tendency to jump around while loading. Just keep it as a text list. Photos can be easily found in the linked threads or through a simple Google search.
  21. How much do you wanna bet that the park employee in question got his/her information from Screamscape and not park management?
