OK, thanks. I think I'll leave them alone for now, but I'll keep the CSS solution in reserve in case they start to become really annoying.

Question for the technically minded here (and Dane, since he knows how the payouts on the ads work): I know browser extensions like AdBlock Plus completely block ads, to the point that site owners receive no ad revenue from visitors with that extension running. Since I don't want to see the ads, but at the same time don't want to deprive KIC of revenue, I'm wondering what would happen from a revenue standpoint if I set custom CSS code (using the Stylish extension for Firefox) to apply "display: none;" to the ad elements. In theory, I would think that the ad would still be loaded, thereby providing revenue, just not shown. However, I don't know anything about how the ads work, so I don't know whether that is indeed the case, or if applying "display: none;" would block the revenue as well. And yes, thanks for all you do, Dane.

Well, one that Paula was aware of IIRC, according to her HoliBlog post after the announcement.

Wow! That looks like a hell of a head-chopper!

Holiday World created a seemingly unrelated shell company to file for their Thunderbird trademark, because they knew enthusiasts would search for it. Only one person found the trademark, and he kept quiet. So there's one way to hide a trademark application. I'm not sure about construction permits, but I'm guessing they can probably be filed under a code name.

I started a thread about it a few minutes ago: http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php/topic/30669-no-pet-day-care-in-2015/

According to the FAQ on the park's website: KI-ORIG-EMP is not going to be happy about this...

There are other alternatives in use- Carowinds has a 'Closed today' listing. Kings Island and others just have that spot empty. If a business has its hours on its Google+ profile, then Google Maps (and a regular Google search) will display those hours, which is the source of Carowinds' "closed today" (and if you look a little closer at their hours, it seems that they still have Scarowinds hours listed). Otherwise, a business marked "open" just shows nothing, like Kings Island (which, according to the "suggest an edit" interface, is indeed marked as "open").

Exactly how did this work? Did you have to pay before you could open the stall door? If so, what's to stop people from holding the door open to let the next person in? Or did you have to pay before you could flush? If so, how many people simply left their poop sitting in the toilet without flushing?

Mistake? More likely a deliberate attempt by Cedar Fair to steal Kentucky Kingdom's business, reminding people that KK isn't the only option. So why isn't Kentucky Kingdom advertising like that near competitor's parks?

Park Hopper is a registered trademark of Disney Enterprises, Inc., and should only be used to refer to the Disney admission ticket feature. The appropriate term for a Universal Studios ticket that allows visiting both parks in the same day is a Park-to-Park Ticket.

Veech Bend? Is that supposed to be Beech Bend? -
Last I checked, neither Subway location at KI offers the steak and cheese.

Ah. I thought you meant the cheaper stuff on the "regular" menu.

Quality is the same from my experience, but they have limited meat choices, a limited selection of breads, veggies, and sauces, and at the one next to The Racer, no microwave or toasting oven so you can only get cold subs (the one in Soak City has one or two more meat options as well as microwaves and a toasting oven). EDIT: It's not just "lower end" subs. They have some of the ones that are more expensive at a regular Subway as well.

That isn't the only place RCDB makes that mistake. See also: http://rcdb.com/4253.htm and http://rcdb.com/4005.htm No such mistake on the page for Shambhala, but they also don't mention the trains at all for that coaster. So it also goes to show that RCDB isn't accurate. And after visiting Camden Park, there are other reasons I don't find them accurate, too. Yet Wikipedia editors still treat them as the Holy Bible of roller coasters and believe that they can do no wrong. To wit, I present the Wikipedia page for Diamondback, which copies RCDB's error. When I tried to fix it, another editor reverted me because "that's what RCDB says". Wonder why I'm no longer active there?

Nope, just those two.

The six-inches are not $6 (unless you're at a Cedar Fair park ). They're $4 to $5. $6 is for a full meal with a side and drink (on selected subs). And you can't expect $5 footlongs to last forever with inflation. Heck, I'm surprised that they lasted as long as they did. I can typically eat at a regular Subway (i.e. not one in an amusement park) for about $7, including a "high-end" six-inch sub, soft drink, and 6.75% dine-in sales tax. For less than a dollar more I can add a bag of chips if I'm extra-hungry, or for around $9 I can get a footlong and drink, eat half of the sub in-store, and take the other half home and stick it in the fridge for another meal, at a cost of about $4.50 per meal.

They did that last year on the Friday of the second weekend as well.

You needed Wolfram|Alpha for that? I could have told you that myself without needing to look it up.

I have also never read the books nor watched the movies, and I greatly enjoyed walking around Hogsmeade when I was there in 2012 (well before Diagon Alley). Definitely worth your time.

Definitely buy the Park-to-Park option. Even if you don't want to do the Hogwarts Express, it's useful for hopping back and forth on your third day, and even in the evenings of your first two days if you start to feel bored. I bought Park-to-Park on a two-day visit and was glad I did, as I found myself jumping around in the evenings.
