I once had someone tell me they dislike Gemini because they aren't fans of wooden coasters. Tongue firmly planted in cheek, I asked them how that was at all relevant to Gemini, and they looked thoroughly confused. I don't understand why people have such a hard time grasping that Gemini, Mine Ride, Adventure Express, and the Texas Giant aren't wooden...

So what's abnormal? OH SNAP BURN! Lol, I'm just kidding. I think we all kinda look stupid in the pic, but that's what roller coasters do to people, in my experience. At the very least, people usually have a stupid grin. Or a look of utter horror. Whichever is apropos for their degree of coaster enjoyment.

Banshee will affect Vortex's popularity. But at the same time, it won't. Vortex's ridership numbers will not likely drop by much, if at all. In fact, if Banshee brings new customers into the park, they may even go UP. Now, Banshee WILL affect Vortex's popularity in that Vortex will almost certainly drop one position on the "most ridden rides" list. I believe Vortex is currently third (in terms of 2012 figures). Banshee will almost certainly drop it to 4th. Or a better way to express it: if(!rideName.equals("Banshee")) { ridershipRank++; } homestar92, who's wanted to do that for a while, and is probably opening a door for malem to point out some flaw in his pseudocode.

And if you want to be among the first in the general public to ride it, be there on opening day. Who knows? Perhaps it will be an ERT ride. If so, you can get a gold pass and show up early. ERT crowds are generally light. HOWEVER, if a new coaster is to be opened AND it is ERT, then expect record-breaking ERT crowds.

Also, the supports that jutted into the crypt's queue fit in better being tan. Oh, wait... Nobody ever waited in that queue after 2008...

I second (or maybe third, I've lost track) the notion that marathonning a coaster is a perfectly valid form of entertainment if it's something you enjoy doing. I have met Gary Coleman, and he is one of the kindest people I've ever had the honor to meet. Very friendly and outgoing, and you can tell that he legitimately loves Diamondback and Kings Island as a whole. We had a long discussion on why we like our respective favorite coasters, and while each of our favorite coasters is near the bottom of the others' lists, it was a very insightful conversation. Everyone loves the things they love for a reason. I could ride Vortex all day. I'm probably somewhere around 100-150 rides on it and I still love it. This is partially because I love the Arrows and always have, but it was also the favorite ride of my best friend and long-time coaster buddy. When he passed away in a car wreck back in 2011, the mandatory ride on Vortex every time I visit KI gained new meaning for me. I ride Vortex as a tribute to my late friend. Our rides on Vortex are among the fondest memories I have, and while it is a very bittersweet ride for me because of the events it reminds me of, I have a special attachment to that ride specifically that I only hope nobody else can understand. I fall squarely in the camp who believes that if riding a roller coaster brings someone happiness, then who are we to complain? It's better than drugs or alcohol, and it can't possibly hurt anyone except perhaps the person doing all the riding.

If I decide to go home for the evening before close, I will quickly try to re-enter and see what happens.

I want to see a Musik Express or the return of the Bayern Kurve. But if we get a Musik express, I DON'T want them to use the speed that CP uses for the Super Himalaya. That was boring. The Musik Express at Kennywood is awesome, and easily two or three times faster. Speaking of Kennywood, I would LOVE to see a flying coaster! (Not to be confused with a flying roller coaster, which we already have and it is entirely different). Wow, the track is redder than I thought it was. Its almost like Firehawk. I just asked my brother what he thought of the track. He said it looks "pretty red-ish". No matter what we say about it, most of the GP will think it's red. Don't worry, in several years when the paint starts to fade, it'll be a horrible shade of pinkish.

I still think DB is smooth in every seat. But hey, I though Hurler was smooth, so maybe I'm weird!

Also, let's say you are required to remove glasses on a coaster (let's say Ghost Rider). At that point, you cannot see well enough to read posted signage. You stupidly decide to stand up, and you fall to your death. Since they would not allow you to wear glasses (and in so doing, rendered you unable to read the sign) then is the park legally liable for your death in the almost certain lawsuit that would follow? Also, to be a bit less morbid and bring this topic back on topic:

I would participate, but A ) I will not be available when the finals are happening anyway and B ) I would be unable to enjoy a trip to Knott's for the same reason I was unable to enjoy Maverick. I like being able to SEE what I'm riding and they do not allow you to wear glasses on their coasters from what I've heard. The difference is that I was able to purchase a glasses strap and properly enjoy Maverick later.

I mean, Diamondback does shake and shuffle a bit. I won't deny that. But in no way is it even close to what I would call "rough". I've ridden 54 coasters, which isn't an HUGE amount, but it's a lot. Diamondback, in its current form, is still probably the third or fourth smoothest I've ever ridden.

I think you're confused. KI did at one point have a hypercoaster that would allow you to experience both roughness AND jackhammering. But it's gone now. On an unrelated note, the iPhone will apparently attempt to autocorrect "hypercoaster" to "hyper pastry."

I like the real colors almost better. The photos taken from the entrance are a good indication of how this ride will look from the entrance. This is going to look great! I look forward to seeing it in person Saturday! I have only been able to see photos. I hope that it looks different than the photos though... On my computer it looks like a very similar red to Diamondback, and I was hoping for it to be closer to purple. I've heard that in person it is almost magenta. No complaints from me, magenta is my school color! (And rather unsurprisingly, people do not take our male athletics uniforms very seriously...)

The experiences will only be about 180 yards apart. They are both in Action Zone after all! (Yes, I understand what you meant. I had been waiting for a chance to use that image.

MONTU! My number 1 inverted! This is probably how the lift on Banshee will look. They will not leave a gap where someone could fall during an evacuation. That depends on who "they" is. B&M may not do that, but Cedar Fair might. See Flight Deck at Canada's Wonderland. I understand that it is a Paramount era ride, but had Cedar Fair been concerned about a platform being present under the lift, I'm sure one would have been added somehow.

No, I don't count Firehawk as a "new" addition considering that it was relocated. The addition had nearly no cost in comparison to building a brand new coaster of its size. If I had to guess, I'd guess it's due to the phenomena in digital recording known as "Clipping". Let's not get me on a digital vs. analog tirade though.

Can No Limits convert saved tracks from RCT3? I know it can from the first game. If it can take in tracks from 3, then converting that into something more like the Lasso would be seemingly trivial.

Holy resurrection Batman! But to get back on topic, I think Banshee will fill a very obvious gap in the Skyline. Ever since SoB came down, I have found the skyline to not be nearly as impressive from the highway. I mean, that thing was HUGE and being right in the front of the park, you could see that sucker from a LONG way away.
