  1. Just a thought . . I think it would be great if they played popular songs in queue lines as when the ride opened. Good classic rock in the The Beast line from the early 80's. for example.
  2. Got my email notification it was shipped . . can't wait!!
  3. With the longer trains would this make these coasters more attractive to KI? Or still not dependable enough?? Because I believe KI only puts in proven, dependable, people eater designs. Gone are the days to put in unproven prototypes like original The Bat, SOB, TR:TR, etc..
  4. Interesting to see what music was playing at the park back in the early 2000's. Seems most people wanted Heavy Metal or RAP music played in the queue lines back then. I think Cedar Fair has done a good job with the music atmosphere around the park. What do you think? What music would you like in the different park sections and queue lines?
  5. I believe the opening of Riverbend stopped acts from going to Timberwolf. So the reason we are left with mostly Spirtsong playing there once a year. To be honest I am not sure what else plays in Timberwolf.
  6. Convert the Crypt building into an attraction like SOARIN' AROUND THE WORLD 4K at EPCOT Disney World. Then change the experience for both Halloween Haunt and Winterfest.
  7. I thought this kid did a good job detailing some steps CP does if MF needs to be evacuated. For some reason I just guessed you would walk down the stairs attached to a guide or something. Pretty cool how the park gave the guests lots of free stuff for their troubles. I never been evacuated before . . just curious if this is standard or unique to MF.
  8. If a museum is not in the works . . I would like to see them post signs around the park marking historic spots with pictures and history. Maybe mark spots of former attractions/rides at their originally locations. Not permanent just for the 50th Anniversary season.
  9. Don't know why I remember this . . but back in the day the TRAM service was sponsored by Sohio. Which was bought out and now owned by BP.
  10. I agree with you. I know it would be a huge expense to run it . . but I always wished the train went through or around the park somehow. I mean I get the original format (was great) and why they changed it to what it is today. It would be cool if it could go out closer to river and back around. Maybe even a Frontier town with zip lines, etc.. Just a with list on my part.
  11. As a kid I loved that covered walkway. I would walk back and forth thru it . . seemed like a magical gateway to me . One end you can see and hear the sounds of International street, and go through the walkway to the sites/sounds of Rivertown to what I think you can see the log ride. To a small kid it just seemed you were going to two separate worlds.
  12. I truly believe whatever is chosen it will be a already proven, reliable people eater coaster design. After the somewhat failed $50+ million investments for SOB and Tomb Raider, Cedar Fair has gone this route at KI. The only exception was Firehawk but that was a unique situation of dividing up Geauga Lake coasters. I always kind of wished we got the one sent to KD. When Terp was still on the forum, he really drove home that idea of a proven, reliable people eater when Banshee was announced. He felt it was a must for KI at the time and it seems to be some of their main criteria till this day.
  13. Here's a story of DeWine putting in standards for Junior Fair only. https://www.journal-news.com/news/county-fair-regulations-junior-fair-exhibits-only-touching-animals/BTUvClmeBnwvO2TgY084uM/
  14. This video is only SPECULATION. But says CW may open betweeen July 1st - 15th. With 9am-midnight hours split in two sessions by reservation, limited to 10k patrons, half restaurants open, bathrooms closed periodically for cleaning, no SplashPark. Again, this is just SPECULATION.
  15. This video is good history of the park maps. The ’78 map was ugly. The ’82 was very plain and other years like 86, 87, 89 were too. I liked the classic look of the ’92 map and it showed the Phantom Theater very prominently. The first couple 94-95 Paramount maps were plain but at least they had pictures . . some other maps were just lines and shapes. But my favorite years had the Son of Beast in the maps of the 2000’s. It just made the park look much fuller.
  16. I was a little concerned they would not keep the park at world class status because of CP. But that would be very bad business to pay out so much and let your product go downhill. But everyone kept saying they know how to run regional parks. Obviously they did keep the park up and made it better. At the time I did get excited about getting a new coaster - "Firehawk". Since I never rode a flying coaster it sounded really fun to ride.
  17. I agree with the more trees and just general blocking out the rest of the world. We still see the parking lot, roads, etc.. I realize that is not true in every area of SC but I just want to be fully immersed into another world. It always amazed me at the Cincinnati Zoo how you feel like your somewhere else but literally just feet from neighborhood, houses, streets, etc..
  18. Would The Crypt building be an option to create a new dark ride? Can it be converted where it makes sense monetarily ??
  19. I agree . . it will have to be an already proven, very reliable type of coaster with high capacity. Something like a B&M dive or wing would fit that bill perfectly. But I still would love a Maverick or Copperhead Strike. How reliable are these coasters? Capacity?? I would also love a ground up RMC. I think it would look great if they could make it part of the Rivertown and put the queue closer near Larosas Pizza.
  20. Besides Shoot the Rapids and Top Thrill Dragster . . were there other rides the spoiled the relationship between Cedar Fair and Intamin? If so, is that relationship really beyond repair?
  21. Yes, I agree we need more thrilling and family flats. But I guess there is only so much budget to go around as far as maintaining and having trained crews. Not 100% sure, but I think it was a concentrated effort to have a world class kids section instead of a more full flat lineup. Not that there is anything wrong with the flats we have . . definitely top of the line rides. Just a smaller lineup compared to some other parks. I am not trying to dish on KI, I think its definitely one of the best regional park anywhere. I just walk around and think right here or there would be a great place for a flat. Also, I think KI is the most clean and well run park I have ever visited. The staff across the board is second to none.
  22. Nice history video of The Beast. I didn't know they had to rebuild the helix to make it larger. It was the reason it was not enclosed the 1st season.
  23. Not sure if anyone has brought this up before but got me thinking with The Vortex removal. If there were still seats available or they could order new ones . . do you think it would be a popular attraction again if they did POV's of defunct roller coasters. We could have one for Vortex, SOB, King Cobra, etc.. Maybe even POV's from other parks like MF, Fury, etc.. I would like it but don't know if it's even possible to retrofit Action Theatre to do those types of POV's. Or how hard it is to program the ride for multiple coasters. Cause I think people would get tired if it was the same coaster all season long.
  24. I guess I would like an RMC like this one. The one is a 200ft coaster so we can still get a good size one with the inversions RMC offers. I like the looks of it too . . still miss seeing the large wooden structure of SOB. So I think it would look great back there and maybe move the entrance down by LaRosa's so it can be part of Rivertown. Just a thought.
