  1. Phantasialand is on my list- it's just got that unique "it" factor, much like other theme parks I'd like to visit (Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, Disney's California Adventure, Six Flags New England, Six Flags Fiesta Texas, Thorpe Park, Tokyo DisneySea). And yes, I'd ride Talocan!
  2. I really like the transitions in the video! And yes, the Spongebob/DA 3D queue did gives some unique views of Racer.
  3. Thanks for the pic, Goble. I was interested to see where exactly the tolls would go! So, will the new exit be the old entrance (where the main tolls were), or do we know that yet?
  4. It was either an Arby's or Wendy's; I can't remember...
  5. I learned an interesting lesson from this myself one time. I was hanging/sitting on a queue bar at an Arby's* and I lost my grip, swung backwards and came super close to smashing my head on the floor (somehow I caught myself with either my hands or legs). Don't do it; it's not worth a busted head! EDITed for details. *Or a Wendy's- I can't quite remember...
  6. The Great Wolf Lodge meetup is less than a week away! I've already got my White Elephant gift picked out- do you?

  7. The only Arrow I've had a zen ride on is The Bat. That is also the only coaster I've noticed a severely great difference in which seat (left or right) you pick. The seat closest to the exit (left) gives a "normal" ride while the seat closest to where riders board (right) gives a crazier experience (especially in the back). Try it sometime!
  8. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the numbers refer to the car and row rather than the actual seats. For example, 7-2 stands for the 2nd row of seats (back row) in the 7th car. Again, these numbers do not take into account the actual seats (left/de-boarding or right/onboarding), but just rows and car number.
  9. Approx. T-2 weeks until the Great Wolf Lodge meetup! :)

  10. This was a very interesting read!
  11. Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Enjoy time with family and friends! :)

    Planning?

Cool. I'd love to go through the one at Cedar Point as it's on Millennium Island!
  13. Congratulations; glad you chose to make Banshee #100!
  14. I'm interested to see how this will work out weather-wise. I mean, running Houdini and Dark Knight* make sense, but running Batman and Nitro? I rode Banshee and Delirium on a cold rainy Haunt night and they were both cold, cold rides! *EDIT: and Skull Mounta.. er, Poinsetta Peak
  15. When you contemplate what your first ride of next season will be... in November. -MDMC, deciding between The Bat or Adventure Express
  16. As I said in the last question, demo'ing Invertigo and adding an Inverted Impulse Coaster to Action Zone would be my idea. However, I would also like to have one train on each side of The Racer turned backwards.
  17. I remember enjoying Scooby Doo and the Haunted Castle when it was around. You could say I grew up with that version as I was always too scared to try Phantom Theater. I remember being like really? when Scooby Doo was taken out (especially since Hanna-Barbara Land was gone from the park and Scooby was the one icon left from that era), but now it doesn't bother me like it used to. I think Boo Blasters is ok- I usually don't end up shooting anything anyway; so it's just an OK dark ride.
  18. Well, I just hope it's not a yellow coaster of the avian variety, formally known as a new millennium steel beast and a Trekkie... -MDMC, heading to Carowinds in 2016
  19. When you get a stress cube and pretend its Demon Drop, a heartline coaster and Slingshot!
  20. I'm wondering, what was The Freezer like and where exactly was it located- was it where Tower Drinks is? Just asking as I was way too scared to be visiting haunts back then. Heck, the main reason I even started going to Haunt regularly (since 2013, at least) was not to be scared, but to go in Slaughter House (the last year it was in Action Zone) and see Sam (well, also because I worked at the park during Haunt, but still...)!
  21. When you start to dream about the park. Seriously. Last night, I dreamed I was at the park for what was possibly a preview day-thing. None of the rides were open, but I started in the kids area (don't remember what the theming was) and walked to the front gate and somehow there were elevators right next to the entrance, which I presumed (in the dream) is where the Eiffel Tower was. I then walked towards what is now Action Zone and saw Drop Tower and The Bat off in the distance. I then made a left and went inside the new Congo Grille eatery, which was next to Congo Falls. I didn't try any of the food, but you could order at a semi-circular bar counter and there were some kids "rides" (like in the sense of a motorized rocking horse ride you'd see at the outside of a store- there was a car thing that spun around) in the corner opposite the bar counter. I think there were also at least one TV screen. Overall, I noticed there were a considerable amount of people in the park, even though nothing was open.
  22. Good stuff; sounds like you had a great time at ERT! Also, I'll have to try the Diamondback Dive next season, sounds like it makes the ride more enjoyable!
  23. Great question BB1. Let's see... if I had to pick 1 area to change, it would be Action Zone. Those who know me know I love Action Zone, but I would love it even more if it reverted back to its original name: Adventure Village. The area now known as Action Zone became Adventure Village soon after the Wild Animal Monorail left and kept the name until 1999, where the area was renamed Paramount Action Zone (as we all know, the Paramount part of the name was dropped shortly after Cedar Fair acquired the park). Most of the rides would fit name and theming-wise (Congo Falls, Delirium, Banshee, The Bat, Xtreme Skyflyer) while Drop Tower might have to be renamed/rethemed* (though I wouldn't want the paint scheme to change). Invertigo would have to change too as it doesn't quite fit the theming, and in a perfect world, I'd remove it for an Intamin Impulse Coaster (going longwise under Congo and towards Timberwolf, the station would be near the start of Invertigo's line) because those things are awesome! Finally, I think I'd annex Adventure Express and Slingshot to the area just like back in the day (well, Slingshot didn't exist back then, but you know what I mean). Unfortunately, this would make Oktoberfest much smaller, but maybe Oktoberfest and AV could co-exist in some way. These are my thoughts, what say you? *EDIT: Though, I could just rename Drop Tower back to Drop Zone if there were some way to get around the whole "movie licensing" thing since it wouldn't be related to the movie, but rather with the idea of freefalling from a perilous height.
  24. That was a great read and an even better milestone. I also enjoyed that beautiful Nov 1 sunset from an Arrow as well! That was a really fun evening and I'm glad that you accomplished your 300th ride goal! *cue Vortex's "I'm not sinking" song* lol
  25. Are you kidding me? That's awesome! (the Top Scan, I mean...). I hope to be down there next summer for my 100th coaster (NIghthawk) and Cirque Imagine, so I'll probably be checking out the zomb zombs. Seriously, though, I do think it is an interesting and cool idea.
