  1. Viking Rader and Invadr sound the coolest; Invadr sounds new-millennium and edgy. It the end of the day, I'll vote for Invadr. Also, I couldn't help but think this coaster will have a VR component based on the "attack with the Vikings or protect the village" quote in the video. EDIT: I voted for Invadr!
  2. I am excited to get back to the park and ride The Bat, Drop Tower, Banshee, The Beast, and Flight of Fear. I have missed The Bat so much; but it's hard not to when it's my lock screen picture for my phone! April 16th cannot come here soon enough! I'm also looking forward to the Opening Day breakfast tradition usually held at Frisch's off of Kings Mills. It will be great seeing friends I haven't seen since Closing Day and heading to the park after the meal, something I wasn't able to do the past 2 years because of work. Here's to a great 2016 season!
  3. Not sure of the exact year, but I know it's been a while. After the on-ride photos were taken out, I believe on-ride video was put in for a time, and then that was discontinued. EDIT: What calakepepe said And yes, I remember there were mentions of Banshee on-ride video and then I believe those quietly disappeared. Now they have on-ride photos.
  4. For some reason I thought there was one over that way (?); maybe I might be mis-remembering; anyway, 29 days!
  5. There are cameras (and respectively, on-ride photos) on a number of rides at Kings Island. The on-ride photo rides and locations are as follows: Diamondback (in dip before helix that comes before MCBR), Beast (first drop???), Woodstock Express (first drop???), Race for Your Life, Charlie Brown! (Bottom of big drop!), Vortex (lowest point of boomerang), Banshee (either after dive loop or vertical loop, I can't remember) and Firehawk (bottom of first drop, in flying position). There may be more, but I don't remember. I know that Flight of Fear used to have an on-ride photo directly after the launch (as did Backlot at one point?) and Flying Ace used to have an on-ride photo near the turn over the station iirc. As for cost, I'm not sure of the cost of On-Ride photos as I typically don't buy my pics after I ride. Most of the ride's respective photo booths are outside of or near the ride's exit. As for the question about posting pictures, I'm going to defer to Terpy or our admins as I don't know the policies. However, I do know that you are not allowed to take a picture of your on-ride photo with your phone or a camera. Finally, as for the Slingshot question, I don't know. I do know that the price of both Slingshot and Skyflier go up as the day goes on, so get your ticket(s) early at the low price; that way, you can come back later to ride and you'll likely pay only $5 per rider instead of $15-$20 per rider. Hope this helps! EDIT: D'OH! Italian Job 2005 beat me to it! And I forgot about Great Pumpkin and Boo Blaster's (past) photo spots.
  6. Spoiler tag is created by going when editing in HTML mode (flicking the light on/off) EDIT: Whoops, so I guess I accidentally made an actual spoiler tag- it's ([spoiler-end bracket|bracket-/spoiler]) and flicking the light on/off for HTML mode Hope this works instead of auto-correcting itself
  7. When planning for/at Dorney Park last summer, I noticed part of their marketing was advertising the games and winning prizes. Even the park map had various spots advertising where games were located. Maybe this is the direction KI is going?
  8. 30 days until Opening Day! I am so looking forward to riding The Bat, Banshee and others again! :)

  9. Good catch; looks like it's official! #traincrossing2016 lol In all seriousness, the storm warning could be just a "hey, we are certifiable ready for storms", or mean they are ready to take on Kentucky Kingdom's Storms of Thunder and Lightning. This could warrant a new KI addition similar to the 1999/2000 new millennium additions. ...or it could be nothing...
  10. Interesting... hmmm, I might have to do this since I have a Platinum Pass... Bat(!)/Banshee plus a Haunt maze I've not yet explored yet? The question is, will Sam be attending the pre-Haunt festivities?
  11. I'm MDMC01 and I approve this message! Seriously, I do agree with you all (chugh/Gator/calakepepe) on the mobius coaster being 1 whole credit and only riding 1 side = 1/2 credit.
  12. I say most racing coasters that have 2 separate tracks are 1 credit, but if I only ride one side, it still counts as a full credit. Here is an example of what I mean: Even though I only rode one side of Thunder Road, I don't count this as a 1/2 credit, I still consider it a complete credit. That's just how It works out for me; but to each their own
  13. Yes. Both are true I'm sure that other members can give you a more complete history that I can, but here is what I know/remember: Hanna Barbara Land was the main children's area (with Scooby Doo/Beastie and Smurfs/Phantom Theater) until the Green Slime Zone area took over the back half (near the Picnic Grove/where the petting farm is now) around the mid-90's. This included the water maze, a slime geyser, and a climbing area that was like a McDonald's play place. According to Youtube, there was also a temporary Wild Thornberries walk-through at some point. In 2001, Nickelodeon Central took over a portion of Hanna Barbara Land and Rivertown. One of the two Rivertown log flumes became Wild Thornberry's River Adventure and Rugrat's Runaway Reptar was one of the first family inverted coasters (it was beside the log flume). Hanna Barbara and Nick Central co-existed quite nicely until 2006, when the whole area united as Nickelodeon Universe and added Phantom Flyers, Avatar: The Last Airbender (which went in the place of Scooby's Ghoster Coaster), Plankton's Plunge, and I believe some other smaller rides. In 2011, the area converted into Planet Snoopy, which remains the theme today. The water maze was taken out in 2014 for the amazingly awesome Woodstock Gliders, a return (in spirit, at least) of a "Flying Eagles" type ride that once soared over Coney Mall. Also, a petting farm was added where the stage was in the back of the area. That was just a brief history of the area(s); hope this helps!
  14. When I'm wanting to be cooled off by either Congo Falls or White Water Canyon as it's really hot outside... (this happened earlier today)
  15. Even though the article states the area will be Mario-based, I would love to see a Pokemon sub-area if Nintendo Land hit the states. My ideas include putting in an awesome custom B&M flyer through the ruins (feat. Aerodactyl, Xatu, Siglyph, Unown and others) and maybe even a VR "petting zoo" so people can interact with some of the more friendly Pokemon (I'm thinking most of the Eeveelutions, Pikachu (of course), Emolga, Snorlax, Jumpluff, Venusaur and others could work) in a realistic setting.
  16. 32 days until Opening Day 2016! :)

  17. That would be American Authors!
  18. So, I guess that Wicked yellow coaster by the lake doesn't count?
  19. I know Paramount no longer owns KI, but I'd have voted for the Spongebob coaster. I'd heard rumors about it back in the day, and I think it would be cool. If built today, it could have utilized drop track like Thirteen or Verbolten. but then again, Spongebob's gone downhill since then, so maybe not.
  20. In addition to those mentioned, 19, 21 and 73 are some of my favorite reasons on the 100 reasons page... The Bat and Firehawk are two amazingly unique rides at the park! Only 35 more days until that Arrow suspended goodness!
  21. Very interesting! EDIT: I also laughed at #99. Just saw that... oh Don (or whoever wrote the 100 Reasons site/campaign)... it's like you know us! Seriously, though, thanks for the coaster enthusiast reference there!
  22. Anyone else see something about a show called Origins under the 100 reasons page on KI's site? Hmmmm.... Link here: https://www.visitkingsisland.com/what-s-new/100-reasons Also, there's now a Lost and Found form on the site to report a lost article. EDIT: And Jump! The Ultimate Dog Show? Guess we know what some of the new Live E is for this year...
  23. I also saw there was a Lost and Found form on the site that I hadn't seen previously.
