  1. TIL you can exit through the boiler room after each show… and I love it! It reminds me of a Haunt maze! Also, Larry is awesome!
  2. Haven’t ridden a ton, but according to the app, lines look long-ish today. Phantom’s wait is ~30 mins (until showtime, that is ). In all seriousness, Bat was probably less than an hour, despite one train ops. And Banshee was a walk-on (as I won a Front-Of-The-Line pass at the wheel in AZ; my other ride was Diamondback…)
  3. YES!!!! I don't care if I have to wait two hours! I'm just sooooo glad it's open -MDMC, avoiding a one-word post
  4. That's pretty cool. Where would be the best spot to see the show (As a note, I've seen it at the front gate (in front of that one shop near IR)? and from the Brewhouse Patio). Debating if I want to see this again or try for a Beast night ride (haven't gotten one with the new trackwork).
  5. Yes please! Compared to the amazing Lightning Racer, Wildcat was just ok. Fix the restraints on Skyrush and you have a great coaster lineup!* *I mean, IMO they totally do (LR, Great Bear, Storm Runner, Comet, Sooperdooperlooper, Wild Mouse + a good supporting cast with Fahrenheit, Laff Track, and whatever Sidewinder is called now ), , but IMO these changes would make the rides better. Also, a trimless (or at least less brakes on ) Laff Track would be great, but that might make it less of a family coaster and more of a thrill coaster! Also, yes, I understand the history behind Wildcat, but I'm also very much a fan of RMC'ing it. EDIT: As a note, I have not yet ridden Candimonium as my only trip was in 2015.
  6. All I have to say is...
  7. Yeah, I found the old version more consistent with the frequency of rewards... IIRC, I got things like free cotton candy and free rides on Days of... er, Thunder Alley. Maybe it will get better. Speaking of Gold Pass things, do we know who won the contest for the VIP lounge at the beginning of the season? I still don't know who won that one. EDIT: Ok, so I just realized I forgot to opt-in to the e-mails (although I do get a few now and then); let's see what happens...
  8. Thank you! Is a possible (re)opening date known?
  9. The huge forest that surrounds The Bat is one reason I love the ride so much - the setting is amazing! I would very much welcome more trees (and shade) in the park. And speaking of which, any updates on The Bat?
  10. I saw it twice yesterday and I loved the show! It's like a Kings Island 50th pep rally, but with BMX bikes and scooters! I was eating during the first show, so I wasn't able to get into it as much as I wanted, but I still love it! It reminds me a bit of Vertical Impact (at Cedar Point), but thankfully, it's not as sensory overload as that one was... Got to meet some of the cast after the 4:30 show and while the stunts are cool, I was amazed at how the BMX/scooter guys are able to stop at the top of the ramp without colliding into the grass. Overall, great show and I think it's my favorite so far (however, I've seen Club KI more times, but I'm sure that will change as the season goes on)
  11. I watched it from my favorite relaxation spot (behind Brewhouse) and though it was a unique spot, I didn't get the full effect until I was able to snag an Adirondack chair towards the end (and then I got comfy and didn't want to get up lol). However, I was able to notice how the drones make the image, and then reposition to display said image, which was cool. Also, I don't think there are a ton of speakers in that area (I could occasionally hear the music from the midway), and that made it difficult to hear what part of the show was going on as I could just see the fireworks and drones. Also, although I've been told how the "roller coaster" segment of the show works, it still blows my mind that the drones can do that.
  12. Well, this is an interesting development... I could see that fitting well in Wicked Twister's old spot - and I am certainly a fan of trading one new millennium coaster for another (PM debuted in 2001; WT in '02)! Plus it would give the park another family ride in a park full of thrill coasters.
  13. I remember seeing Thousand Foot Krutch at Spiritsong years ago (mid 2000's) and the sound was terrible (thankfully, I knew they didn't sound terrible live and their next few shows at the Underground were amazing - my second time seeing them at the Underground (where I got to meet them) was apparently one of the loudest shows that venue had had up until that point), yet I'm pretty sure other acts that night had better sound*. So, not sure if it's a venue or a band thing. Same thing at Winter Jam 2017... TFK didn't sound good (As in, the sound quality was garbage), but most of the other acts did sound good... then again, my friend and I were in the bleachers (at US Bank Arena) for their show, but still.... (well actually, Newsong played right after them and the sound quality was better, so there's that...) *The sound was better (but not perfect, IIRC) years later when I saw them while working Spiritsong (in Park Services)... that was super cool and a lot of fun! I was still into them at the time and you better believe I had a great time rockin' and sweeping!
  14. Reminds me of how I thought Cirque: Origins vaguely hinted at Mystic Timbers (vines/forest theme around the stage, but everything else had nothing to do with it) and Gravity vaguely hinted at Orion (space theme)
  15. Great idea! One of the entrances could be near the Coke Freestyle stand/Adventure Express's exit and one could be down near Action Theater. It could even go through the center of the Coney Mall midway, just like Cedar Point's (as in, how it runs through the center of the main midway). Also, I think Psycho Mouse (with an Oktoberfest-appropriate theme) would go great in Slingshot's old spot. Apparently, there was once a Wild Mouse at Coney Island (OH), so there's the historical connection. Also, when I was a kid, I imagined a Wild Mouse similar to Ricochet going where Delirium is now (as both Kings Dominion and Carowinds were getting one at the time and I thought we would too!).
  16. This is indeed sad for those in the area that love the park, however... if we did get any rides from this, I vote for Railblazer, Psycho Mouse and/or Survivor (aka Tiki Twirl). However, Railblazer would be a perfect fit at Michigan's Adventure, and would give me another reason to make the trek up there someday (haven't ridden Thunderhawk yet). Also, DT and Delirium look cool, but we have similar rides. I just hope that when it comes time to close and relocate things that the rides are handed out wisely to CF parks that really need them.
  17. I just caught up on this thread after seeing the headline on Screamscape re: the wheel incident. That talk of this being the end for The Bat scared me. That's one of my favorite rides in the park; I've been riding it since I was a kid! Also, it's one of the only remaining parts of Adventure Village (Skyflyer being the other one), so losing that piece of history would be unfortunate, to say the least. Though some complain about the long walk, I enjoy The Bat's secluded location and the foliage surrounding the ride. Though Orion is faster, cooler and newer, The Bat (fka Top Gun) will always have a place in my heart,
  18. No harm taken re: Busker Jam! That was my favorite show in the park last year and I was so bummed I couldn't make the final weekend; unfortunately, COVID had other plans... And I agree it was in an awkward location, especially when there were rules saying no gathering in the midways (but also, you kind of had to in order to see this show...) And the dog shows.... um, yeah... In the words of Howie from the Benchwarmers: "Not an fan" (keep in mind I only saw the second year's show - the one with the big dogs attempting to spin around or whatever). I do agree with your comment about how both small and big shows should coexist; that reminds me of the first year of Winterfest (2010s revival), when there were so many shows you couldn't see them all in one visit.
  19. Cool! I will look for it next time I go to the park.
  20. Where in line is it located? That's pretty cool!
  21. Hey...I really liked Busker Jam! More on topic, I'm looking forward to seeing this show as well as the street party next time I'm at the park. EDIT: Also, the "all the things happening all at once" part referenced above reminds me of Cedar Point's Vertical Impact. I liked it, but talk about sensory overload...
  22. Oh, ok. That makes sense. Didn't realize the waterfall water propelled the boat forward to finish the course. Though it's unfortunate what caused this to happen, what a cool and unique ride experience to get.
  23. @IndyGuy4KI: By "rollback", do you mean went back down the lift, stopped on the lift, or something else?
  24. Ok, that makes sense @IndyGuy4KI and @brenthodge; seems like the wording will reasonably setting people's expectations so people are not disappointed that it's not a big parade on the scale of say, Carnivale. I'm looking forward to it, but I was just wondering about the wording.
  25. I do find it strange that they are not calling it a "parade", even though it definitely sounds like a parade to me lol.
