You’re right, you can get into trouble for things you post on social media, even if its your own personal account. That is probably the reason why Chad asked her to DM him instead of him publicly replying. Tony doesn’t answer questions publicly on his twitter account regarding to park related matters for CP, he does however provide a link for people to ask questions.
-
Correct so that would be reason why he wants to direct message in private on the matter rather than put it out there publicly. Chris doesn’t like Chad therefor I’m not surprised he got blocked.
-
It says so for the Bio’s for each account. One says official twitter feed, the other says the tweets are mine.
-
Right, like people don’t put down what they do for work on their social media accounts? His account also says his tweets are his, so he already put in a disclaimer that his tweets are not on the parks behalf. Since it’s not the parks official account he probably cannot speak in his own free will about his employer (Kings Island) matters publicly. Without breaking rules. Has anyone actually been blocked from the official Kings Island twitter? Im indifferent with Chad but I find it borderline stalking with what some people are doing on here. Tweeting him directly on issues that relate to the parks official pages? Why not just tweet the official park page instead? Again the appropriate channels..
-
Well it is his personal account. Why aren’t you actually contacting the park? There are appropriate channels and non appropriate channels to handle things. Do you think doctors hand out their personal cell numbers or do they have you call the office instead? I’m sure if you called Kings Island, Mike might have the answers you’re looking for.

What would be one thing you’d change operations wise?

I wish the park would allow people into the lines before the ride opens. Nothing like having a long line stretch into the midway rather than just opening the queue and let people in. If it’s not a mechanical or weather issue why not? I’ve seen this Countless times. Most recently was the line for Diamondback which stretched all the way down to Brewhouse because it didn’t open on time with the park. Another annoyance is when there is clearly nobody in the row to take your spot when the ride ends and instead of just letting you re-ride they have you get off and walk all the way around to get back on. I also hate the fact that I am required to wear shoes on the water rides on the dry side of the park. They do not require shoes on Cedar Point’s water rides. -
Top Thrill Dragster Incident

What is interesting is all the Hydraulic launch coasters got lumped into the LSM launch coaster category on Intamin’s Website. Even if they still have their Hydraulic launch system. https://www.intamin.com/product/lsm-launch-coaster/ -

I’m very interested in seeing who the manufacturer is doing the modifications. Intamin built the ride, they also likes to use swing launch spikes in a-lot of its newer LSM coaster layouts. Wether or not the Dragster trains can be used, is still up for debate. I will say the Dragster trains did use the two fin layout with the magnetic braking on TTD. So maybe they can be reused and that’s why we see double LSM fins with the new modified track on site. Intamin has seen a resurgence in the states with Busch Gardens and Universal. However they’re relationship with Cedar Fair is bad. https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Top_Thrill_Dragster_train.jpg Zamperla probably most people’s choice. Upped their game in the coaster department. They also debuted new Lightning trains capable of speeds over 100mph. They are currently modified a Intamin hydraulic cable Launch coaster which is what Top Thrill Dragster is. Zamperla however doesn’t currently have a LSM that has been built. So going with Zamperla would be a bit of a gamble for Cedar Fair, not a gamble Cedar Fair hasn’t taken before. Example: (Modial WindSeeker) https://screamscape.com/html/cedar_point.htm#Dragster Zierer this one probably not on anyone’s radar and to me has the potential to a dark horse. Given that the style of track, supports, square footers, and the double LSM fin configuration they use on their LSM launch coasters closely resemble what is currently seen with the new supports, footers and track that is currently at Cedar Point’s TTD. Also they do have coasters that use the same double loading / unloading style platforms with some of their coasters. -

I think you’re confused with the track. Several horizontal beams within the track showed signs of impact damage from the bracket that sheered off the affected train. It’s not the trains that is the issue. It’s the stress imposed on the trains from the hydraulic cable launch, that is the issue. The swing launch (reason for the new footer placement looking like there will more than likely be a spike) is so the trains can more gradually be brought up to 120mph vs doing it in 4 seconds with the hydraulic cable launch. Plus LSM launch system itself has less moving parts in general. And yes I can almost guarantee the Millennial Force trains share a lot of parts with TTD trains. That way the park can have just one spare part vs two different parts that can be used for either coaster. Here is a photo I got after the TTD accident while standing in line for Millennium Force. Park maintenance was replacing all of the metal brackets on one of the Millennium Force trains. Nine days after the accident. -

Damage to a train, only one was involved. “Limited” overhaul program, what was apart of the agreement to be overhauled? Correct who knows if they can even be modified for LSM launch. As far as complexity, the trains share a lot of similarities and I’m assuming parts with Millennial Force. It makes more sense dollar wise to have have two coasters share the same parts. -

Yeah I understand a piece of metal coming off the train and causing an injury is bad. However that is more of a maintenance issue than manufacture issue. I agree if another manufacture is involved other than Intamin for this project then it will receive new trains. I can’t picture the park spending more capital on trains that will work, unless they cannot be altered for LSM. -

Why not? Trains are expensive, and there isn’t anything wrong with the ones they currently have? -
CP is going to return the favor by taking all of Pantheon’s here soon.

It looks like the same track and supports Pantheon (Intanim) uses. Also I’ve seen a photo but cannot find it, but one of the CP FB pages has a photo of the old dragster trains arriving back on site they’re sitting next to Blue Streak. I’m leaning towards Intamin being the sole manufacture of the project. I just hope they can produce a quality, safe ride with less downtime. Hopefully they can get back in the good graces with CF. So Tony from CP killed the rumor of Zamperla being apart of the project. Maybe Intamin is in on the project. Only makes sense considering the worlds fastest multi launch coaster with a spike is an Intamin. (Pantheon at BGW) Info credit: Pointbuzz -
It was sarcasm. I’m not entirely happy with the quality of food either. I’m just pointing out what people do in hopes the park can figure out a way to fix the issues.
-
Sounds like you picked the wrong register. Here’s a food hack that I’ve seen that sometimes works. Order food prior to being able to use your meal plan. Pick a register with a worker who doesn’t look like they’re confrontational or seems like they don’t care. They’ll let you by without actually paying for the food and since it’s before the 4 hours they cannot select your meal plan to be used. Therefor when the 4 hour timer hits your meal plan will be ready to use and now you will have gotten 3 meals instead of just 2 in a single day. Or you can do what I’ve seen done most often and seems to be the most effective thing to do by not stopping at the register at all, just walk right by. Which you’ve proven works by walking away with the choccy milk.

I wouldn’t say that new trains from Premier would be much of an upgrade. It’s the same restraint system for the most part except they added over the shoulder straps as well. The carts are just as cramped as well, at least from my experience on Tigris and Tempesto. I think FoF is at age were it would need just entirely rebuilt like the what Universal did with the Incredible Hulk coaster. If possible I would probably invite an entirely different manufacturer to do it tho. Theming wise I think it would be cool if they added stars in planets inside were the bulk of the coaster is. Also add more theming to the interior of the alien space ship itself. Kings Dominion’s FoF is an odd ball tho being in the Jungle X perdition area technically while also sitting next to a racing themed Giga coaster. They could theme it as an emergency landed space craft in the jungle or remove everything aliens and theme it to an indoor test track facility. Fury 325 Support Failure
Tr0y replied to Oldschool75's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Im willing to bet B&M recommends daily track and support inspections. How it is executed is entirely up to the owner. Much like owning a car the manufacturer recommends when and what oil to get during changes but ultimately it is up to the owner to decide. -
I would’ve preferred a cloned Fury 325, compared to the “giga” we received.
-
I do like the open style seating vs the dog crates. However the traditional enterprises are much more forceful, and they don’t have the goose being ran over by a car noise either.
-
They should’ve cloned Fury 325 and themed it Orion.
