Another change I would like to see the park do is remove the water mist from the queue line fans. There is nothing worse than waiting in a long line and being stuck in front of one of those things. I didn’t plan on getting wet when I ride Mystic Timbers, but I have no choice waiting in line being in-front of one of those. It’s even worse later in the day, say 9pm when the temps drop from the high 80’s to the low 70’s because Ohio. Then the mist becomes unpleasantly chilly. Also from an OCD perspective after a while the fans start to look like crap from the hard water stains. The water also puddles in the queue, attracts a-lot of dirt and I noticed on Mystic Timbers one of the fans killed part of a tree from all the water. The park should opt for drinking fountains in the queue line instead. Water is better for us in our body on a hot day than it is outside of it. I think the park should opt for cool down zones next to the main paths for people who want to get a quick mist. They’re are plenty of blank concrete spots they could add these. Doesn’t have to be here exactly, but just an example of a waste of space:

I kinda wish The Beast got a theming enhancement much like The Adventure Express. Maybe add The Beast eyes in the tunnels. Add some sound effects such as adding a chain breaking noise when the train departs the station. Roaring and grunting noises throughout the ride and such, while also keeping the classic music that we have become accustomed to on the lift hills. Also if this horse hasn’t been beaten enough, BRING BACK THE WATER FEATURE! Reference noises:

Got to try the prestige infused cooler water. It’s sample size but it is free with any meal at Enrique’s.

I would love if the park upgraded or changed the location of the Soak City train station. It is currently an abysmal concrete pad with fencing. Same goes with the path that leads to Soak City, it’s not even a direct path to the water park. Honestly Soak City and the Train aren’t going anywhere so they might as well invest in having the path either go underneath or goes over the tracks and get rid of that hideous looking pedestrian bridge.

Just to piggy back off the very back giving the best ride. If you hold your hands up and your feet up, you’ll get a lot more air time.

But that’s the thing you just mentioned. I’m not disputing the fact that Orion is fun, it’s just overall lacking. The short height isn’t even made up for in ride duration or length.

I’d build a water park.

It’s always nice to see your $30 million dollar investment get outperformed by the cheaper ones. On the bright side we get to claim our “Giga” doesn’t reach a height of 300 feet like the rest of them. The Orion woes can probably be listed to the beating the dead horse thread.

Welcome to KIC!

Got to finally try the new fountain drink options at Grain and Grill. Mango Lime, and Strawberry Hibiscus. I had the Mango Lime, it’s pretty much a different flavor of Hi-C.

I’m going to the park today, any recommendations on which barrel to ride that gives the best spin?
-
I’m guessing that because of how far behind schedule they were that it was a mad dash to just get it running for Memorial Day Weekend, and not much time was spent tweaking the ride to give an ideal experience.

Jeez…What is going on with Cedar Fair and the delayed openings? It’s not like the supply chain, and labor shortage issues just showed up being that this is year 3 since the Covid Lockdowns. From what I’ve read beyond the Zambezi Zinger, Worlds Of Fun like Kings Island, too was off to a rough start with a lot of rides not being opened and the park in general not appearing to be ready for opening day. Canada’s Wonderland new rides were not ready for opening day as well. Maybe CF should increase the lead times on new additions by starting these projects sooner the season prior.

With Cargo Loco opening tomorrow. I’m assuming now that the Adventure Express will be opened Sunday, and Sol Spin possibly opening Monday?

The way some of the RMC’s are designed, the lift hill could easily clear Banshee underneath it. Technically Son of Beast is still standing but not operating, the park never did remove the track within the station. It’s Romesco sauce, last time I ate at the Grain and Grill it was already on the meat. If you want extra sauce you have to request it which is also an additional charge.

Not a review but has the crinkle cut fries returned to Skyline in the park?
-
I was not aware of that feature, my bad everyone.

I’m not even angry at the size of Sol Spin, I’m angry at the fact it’s almost June and it’s still under construction. Maybe @super7is onto something saying they’re junky “cheap” rides, maybe not so much the “rides” itself, but the manufacturer Zamperla. When I was at CP yesterday Wild Mouse was down for the entire day, and from reports I’m seeing, it is closed today too. Also I read in an Article about how Wild Mouse broke down and people had to be evacuated off the ride during its preview day, in-front of the media for all to see. How embarrassing. https://www.usatoday.com/story/travel/experience/theme-parks/2023/05/05/cedar-point-wild-mouse-boardwalk/70186969007/

Sorry double post I guess, but I just seen this in my feed on FB and it has me wondering if this is already in the pipeline at KI considering it’s being rolled out to multiple locations: https://www.wcpo.com/news/local-news/skyline-fans-no-longer-have-to-go-to-a-reds-game-to-enjoy-chili-nachos
