Let me make an easy example of what people are trying to convey. Take the local fire department for example. They are funded by millions of dollars in taxpayer funds. Their job and are paid to provide emergency services. Now ask yourself why would they be participating in local parades using gas and putting wear and tear on specialized, million dollar apparatus, when they are paid to respond to emergencies? It’s about building a good relationship with the community (customers) that they serve. If the fire department has a bad relationship with the community, they will have a much more difficult time to receive the needed funds to operate. Whether that be unable to pass a fire levy, and or the department is defunded. (Google Minneapolis police) So take for example this crane company, getting a large sum of money to do work for Cedar Fair (Customer). They’ve probably worked on previous projects (funds) for Cedar Fair (customer) prior, or have hopes in building a good relationship with Cedar Fair (customer) in order to be offered future projects contracted (funds) to them in the future. The crane company more than likely is willing to take a small loss and providing a crane for show that is more than likely not making them any money to help keep a positive relationship with Cedar Fair (customer). It’s the same principle. I hope this helps. (Google dog and pony show.)

RMC boo blasters and give it Phantom Theater theming.

I wonder if the park will mention Vince on hitting 5k rides on Orion this week? Or is that only if you ride The Racer?

Kings Island NEW Adventure Express POV COMING WEDS!

Yup, reimagining the ride was a no brainer. It should be more reliable and they were able to break multiple world records in the process of converting it. The reason for wanting to grab all the media attention and trying to sell it as “new” is simple. Gotta sell hotel rooms, that’s the real cash cow.

All you need is enough gas money to make it home.

I’m assuming they got a lot of new prestige pass holders that were previously platinum pass holders. Maybe people are seeing the cuts the park has been making, and are now supporting the park any way the can to can reverse those cuts.
-
Here is the benefits I get with my platinum pass with Seaworld / Busch Gardens. I paid $443.71 Which cost wise is about the same as Prestige Pass with the all park add on. Some of the details of the perks aren’t shown. The free parking is preferred parking (subject to availability.) As you can tell you get hosed by CF. I wonder how KD’s prestige sales are doing being so close to BGW. Feel free to send CF this screenshot if you happen to get a survey about prestige passes.

Cedar Fair and Vekoma

This is the way. I assume they’ve learned a lot from Walt Disney Imagineering. They should be experts at this point with family coasters. Smart move on CF for picking them to build this next family coaster. -
Cedar Fair and Vekoma

Vekoma has been doing business in the US for a while now. They’ve had a pretty strong relationship with Disney. It’s just now that Vekoma is willing to take on the low hanging fruit jobs again. -
Just renewed mine, did everything the same except going with the premium drink plan.. I added the all park since I was already a platinum pass member. I don’t plan on switching cards next season so I’ll keep using my platinum card. Who knows maybe it’s worth money now lol.

I just go to Kings Island, hand them my credit card and let them charge what they think is fair.

Intamin too has been having a sort of a renaissance. We might never see another Intamin installation again at a CF park, but it’s nice to see them popping up at other parks within the states, such as Disney, Busch Gardens, Universal.. Intamin gets a bad rep for all the accidents, but with further reading a fair amount of those incidents was out of their control. Not saying they haven’t been responsible with some design flaws. (Flight Commander) They’re biggest issue is with the reliability and maintenance, however from what I’ve heard they’ve been more conservative as of late. -
Same can be said about spending money on IP’s. Does CF really see returns on money spent for the Peanuts IP? Or would families with kids still visit the park. Dollywood doesn’t have any IP for their kids area, and they’ve claimed best kids area for years now.

Animatronics and Cedar Fair maintenance don’t coincide, unfortunately.

After all the boos they got from the Orion announcement with people going as far as calling it the Kmart giga. That no wonder they are sticking with just a 5am social media post.
-
We have the attendance to pull it off. Im not sure what the numbers are but maybe the Hotels at CP play apart of their Thursday night haunt. Those hotels are the real cash cows.
-
I’m curious if the peanuts stage stays and gets repurposed as a food truck / food court much like what Carowinds did with their FX Theatre.
-
I hope we’re getting new Coca-Cola flavors. In all seriousness, I just hope whatever we are getting opens on time.
-
I agree, if attendance is up again next season, the Comms Dept has got to go. We don’t need longer lines.
-
That’s just the staging area for the water they plan on bringing back for The Beast.
-
I was thinking the Pipeline area would make the most sense for a Water Coaster. The land is relatively flat, already cleared and the majority of it is in dead space that is only accessible by maintenance because of the wave pools.
