  1. It was never a question of whether or not the painters knew what they were doing, but a question if the park was actually going to paint the whole thing. Unlike what they did to The Racer when they didn’t bother to paint the supports where the turnaround is. From what I gather from Don’s reply it sounds like the Diamondback is being completely painted. Which like many, I’m happy for.
  2. Titan track doesn’t do anything to replicate or keep the same ride experience as before. It is literally steel track. There is a reason why every single Wooden Coaster that received this kind of iron horse conversion has also came with major ride element changes within its layout like the addition of inversions. It would be a snooze fest if the track followed the exact same path the previous wooden track followed otherwise. The rumbling and rattling of a Wooden Coaster is a ride element.
  3. Ever since the introduction of RMC in 2011. We have seen quite a few Woodies “hybridized” into steel coasters. Usually this is warranted *cough* *cough* Meanstreak, but this season will be a first for a Wooden Coaster that is held in high regard to suffer such a fate. Lake Compounce has decided to convert part of its Boulder Dash Wooden Coaster with GCI’s new Titantrack. This is puzzling due to Boulder Dash being a top 5 rated Wooden Coaster in the Golden Ticket Awards for 21 of its 22 years of existence, the exception being its first year. Those who always preferred Wooden coasters have feared these hybridizations for what it means to the industry and now it’s starting to rear its ugly head. Now, not even a prestigious Wooden Coaster is safe from suffering the hybridization fate. So far we have been fortunate that Cedar Fair has been keeping good Wooden Coasters, wooden, and that the current modifications have been met with positive feedback.
  4. One thing I did notice today on Diamondback was while stacked on the break run you could see about 10 seat belts for Diamondback new in the bag placed in different spots on the floor of the storage shed for the trains, as if they were supposed to be installed that day. Another thing I noticed was safety netting missing underneath part of the track to keep objects from falling onto people. I know it’s minor details but things that deal with safety is an ominous sign.
  5. Yes they were both open today, I however didn’t get anything from them.
  6. I’m amazed how much work there is still left to be done in the park when tomorrow is “opening day.” We already know Adventure Port won’t be ready, but I was surprised Diamondback is only partially painted. Any track beyond the Crypt building still needs painted. I didn’t see any boom lifts nearby, I hope they don’t do Diamondback like they did The Racer. The Beast was down multiple times today, I thought last season The Beast had more downtime than usual as well. I wonder if the re profiled hill might have something to due with it. I know today was basically a “soft opening” I am hopeful that today was just a one off and not a continuation of the issues from last year.
  7. Riptide Railway coming to Busch Gardens Williamsburg: https://fb.watch/jEyDetgqih/
  8. Probably still too early but maybe we will get something or things from California’s Great America Park, since it will be closing in 5 years. Coaster wise I want: 1) Railblazer 2) Patriot Ride wise I want: 1) Flying Eagles 2) Orbit 3) Delta Flyer / Eagles Flight 4) Carousel Columbia
  9. They could’ve done a better job with the whistle, it sounds like a toy.
  10. Being that it runs during winter fest it could probably use a lil extra time off.
  11. Well if they do anything like they did The Racer with its paint job they won’t paint it. The back end of The Racer were the turnarounds are didn’t receive any paint other than the track portion. This is even more prevalent on The Beast, which hasn’t seen paint other than the carts and some minor things since its opening. “Out of site, out of mind.” Is the mentality.
  12. I’m thinking the reason they’re no longer in CP or KI is because of Cedar Fair.
  13. I just hope the Skyline’s in the park keep the crinkle cut fries. It is what makes Skyline in the park unique vs all of the Skyline’s outside of Kings Island.
  14. Yeah I remember Chick Fil A being removed then returning to Cedar Point, we’ll probably see a return of Chick Fil A in the future. Removing Chick Fil A is a mistake honestly, no other restaurant in the park produces a consistent, quality product like Chick Fil A does. Whether it be hard rice from Panda Express, cardboard pizza from Larosa’s or overcooked noodles from Skyline. Food quality and consistency within the park changed season to season, but one thing that hasn’t waned has been food prices. With meals now pushing over $15 to upwards over $20 with drink, you would want the most for your buck. You never knew what you would get with the other restaurants in the park but you could always fall back on Chick Fil A.
  15. Will we get the return of the Coney Mall sign?
  16. This is a cool addition, being a called a port is kinda ehh considering any normal person that can swim can make it across that small pond but nonetheless this is a great addition. Hopefully we’ll get some new food options beyond just Hanks. Maybe a new menu item that is delicious but will you pay for later in the restroom called Montezuma's revenge. That would be fun, like a Spanish themed White Castle, anyone?
  17. The Racer got a half A paint job. It still needs painted on the back half of the ride where the turn arounds are.
  18. Hopefully this is similar but not exactly like what is offered through Busch gardens and Seaworld. I have a platinum pass for Busch Gardens, and there is so much fine print involved that it takes away a lot of the perks. Most of the perks are only useable for the “Florida parks.” And not the rest of the properties owned by Seaworld and Busch gardens.
  19. While Ill agree with the sad state of affairs with boo hill, needing rethemed, I don’t think phantom theater would make a good fit in Planet Snoopy.
  20. When you realize only some parts of The Racer support structure was repainted and not the whole thing:
  21. Too be fair, Chick Fil A, is probably the most consistent with food quality and service than most if not all of the other food options within the park. When you’re paying park prices on food it’s nice to know and come to expect what you’re getting for your money. Chick Fil A does that. Getting Chilli Cheese Crinkle cut fries at Skyline is like playing Russian roulette, and yes I like to live dangerously for a unique fry that can only be found at Kings Island Skylines!
  22. Diamondback already has Orion beat in the Golden Ticket Awards. . .
  23. RMC don’t make wooden coasters tho.. I wouldn’t be opposed to the Gravity Group making something on the likes of The Voyage tho.
  24. Personally, I don’t like the idea of removing The Bat. It’s a unique ride and underrated one at that. I love the idea of a big coaster going in the space behind Banshee tho, the combination of SoB’s tall station with a sharp incline lift hill could clear Banshee. This space is honestly where I was hoping we would get a Giga Coaster.
  25. Firefighters no, but firemen yes! Fireman is the person who controls the amount of steam generated for the locomotive. They’re the ones who would feed the fire, and add water to create steam. It’s a delicate act but also very important one, not enough water could lead to the locomotive going caboom! Depending on what fuels the fire, it can be labor intensive position as well.
