  1. I’m curious about what world records they plan on breaking. Worlds fastest coaster 150mph? Worlds fastest LIM launch coaster? Worlds fastest strata coaster? If TTD gets a spike it will likely be multi launch and have switch track. Switch track would put TTD in the shuttle category if I’m not mistaken? That should inherently break multiple world records just for the fact the top hat hill is still present. Worlds fastest shuttle coaster? Worlds tallest shuttle coaster? Worlds tallest multi launch coaster? Worlds fastest multi launch coaster? Either way it’s going to crush multiple world records being in the location it’s at.
  2. BackBeatQue is my favorite restaurant at Cedar Point, but I agree with you they shouldn’t have removed Witches Wheel. There is plenty of other places they could’ve placed BackBeatQue.
  3. Like many of us who like to travel to other parks. We try to plan our visits when the park is not as busy so we can get the most out of our visits. Another issue we run into is figuring out which rides historically have the longest lines, which is useful information planning our day at the park. My friend showed me a website that provides yearly crowd calendar, and forecast. As well as ride wait times regardless if you’re at the park or not and it also shows historic ride time waits. I’m not paid, or affiliated with this website by any means. I just figured it would be helpful. Comment below if you have any apps or websites you like to use for this. https://queue-times.com/parks
  4. I know this is somewhat late but Repeal Bourbon & Burgers is really good, and you can never go wrong with bourbon. It’s within walking distance of the beach. Waterman’s surfside grille is directly on the beach I had flounder there and it was really good. The Sweet Spot is an ice cream parlor / mini donut shop that makes crazy milkshakes.
  5. The Cows know what they have and wanted a bigger cut.
  6. I agree they should increase the price on the meal plan, that way there would be a better selection in food. Our BBQ is probably the least diverse from what I’ve seen in the chain.
  7. I just rode this back in May, it was fun. I find the timing tho a bit odd with closing it during middle of summer when school is out. The only thing I can picture taking its spot would be either a flat ride or that just be the station location something big like a hyper coaster.
  8. True it can be a double edge sword. And we are already seeing that now with the park beginning to nickel and dime us over sauce. Which honestly the park should honor the first sauce for free and any additional be an up charge. And sauce should only be given upon request. I bet a lot of sauce ended up in the trash from G@G and Chicken Shack because it was given out Willy Nilly or it was offered to everyone.
  9. Whatever you do, don’t go in the shed!
  10. The water is chlorinated, what your seeing is goose poop.
  11. Is there even a way for someone with the meal plan to pay the difference to upgrade to a non meal plan offering? Truthfully Cedar Fair or at least Kings Island should increase the price of the meal plan. I would love if we had more food options to choose from or at least more restaurants having a revolving menu.
  12. WindSeeker by far is the most terrifying ride at Kings Island for me. I can only imagine the ride breaking down and me getting stuck up there, Drop Tower also falls in this category, it’s guilty by association.
  13. I have mixed feelings while riding Screamin’ Swings. The down swing is so much fun. The up swing on the other hand, kinda terrifying not gonna lie.
  14. Worst coaster I have ever ridden was Mean Streak. The best way I can describe the experience would be putting on a jackhammer like a backpack then attempting to sit on concrete while the jackhammer is on. Horrible coaster, thankfully it is no more.
  15. There are so many possibilities with what the park can do in Action Zone. I always hoped that they would rename Invertigo, to Stinger and give it renovated trains with better restraints. Much like what Kentucky Kingdom did to T3.(Formerly T2) Guessing how Kentucky Kingdom ended up selling T3, 7 years after renovation that will probably not happen.
  16. Everything, At the end of the season I plan offering up a sacrifice to the Head. I hope it will bring us good fortune on the next coaster.
  17. My basis of CPI and why I meant it is pretty close to spot on is comparing the coasters in terms of track length. Which roughly equates to steel being used. Intimidator 305: Cost $25 million to build in 2012. If adjusted by CPI it would’ve cost $29.75 Million to build in 2020 (The year Orion was built) its cheaper than Orion with adjusted inflation but it’s also shorter. It’s track length is shorter at 5,100 ft. Orion: Cost $30 Million to build in 2020. Track length: 5,321 ft. 221 ft in track difference cost $275,000 roughly. Obviously there are other factors in price. Having the coaster plant only an hour away from KI probably helps, but I digress.
  18. They WERE competing parks. That is no longer the case since CF bought the park. Paramount was literally in an arms race against CP. Paramount invested more in KI in its tenure than CF has, and CF has had control of KI longer at this point. Also if you were to adjust coaster additions based off inflation Son of Beast would have been the most expensive addition in KI history.
  19. I think what he means by “exceeding” is ride experience. Cedar Fair does not want KI cannibalizing from CP. The reason CP has any draw is because of the ride quality and record breaking rides and coasters. Cedar Fair has too much invested in Hotels in Sandusky, which heavily rely on CP drawling people in. Gone are the days of Paramount which was attempting to make KI a destination park. No more first of their kind rides or coasters, no more multi record breakers. Cedar Fair will only do enough to keep the status quo at KI. Kings Island is the Ohio step child now.
  20. So what you’re saying is we really got shorted. All my argument is, is that based of inflation they should’ve spent more. The inflation rate that I used is pretty spot on. For example Intimidator 305 being the closet resemblance to Orion in terms of ride length and being more heavily themed cost $25 million to build in 2010. It would have cost 29.75 million to build in 2020. and yeah I would’ve been perfectly content with waiting an additional season or two for a better giga coaster. The park literally built a gangster of a coaster in Mystic Timbers, 3 years prior. Oh not to mention but a gold pass to Kings Dominion is cheaper than Carowinds, and Carowinds is cheaper than Kings Island.
  21. Yeah I think we should be entitled to a 33 million dollar coaster like Fury 325 since our KI gold passes cost more than what they cost at Carowinds. 3 million doesn’t seem like much of a difference till you ride Fury 325, then it becomes clear.
  22. That’s because Cedar Fair know’s darn well if they invested in KI the way Paramount did. It would eat away at Cedar Point. Cedar Point literally survives off being a destination park. That’s one of the reasons why all of their coaster additions with the exception of kiddy coasters were or are record breakers. Kings Island on the other hand has a good local base to draw from. The number 1 steel coaster in the world with Fury 325, 4 hours away from the flagship park?? Devastating. Cedar Fair can’t have that. We’ve been the step child ever since Paramount sold us.
  23. Orion built in 2020, cost 30 million to build. Now let’s compare it to the other giga coasters built and adjust their price tags to what they would’ve cost to build in 2020 based off inflation: Millenium Force built in 2000, cost $25 million to build. Would cost $37.5 million to build in 2020. Steel Dragon 2000 built in 2020, cost $52 million to build. It’s expensive price tag is because it was built to withstand earthquakes. Would cost $78 million to build in 2020. Intimidator 305 built in 2010, cost $25 million to build. Would cost $29.75 million to build in 2020. Leviathan built in 2012, cost $28 million to build. Would cost $31.64 million to build in 2020. Fury 325 built in 2015, cost $30 million to build. Would cost $32.7 million to build in 2020.
  24. Here is the additions made by each, with some coasters / rides being removed. I did not include Soak City as apart of the comparison. Paramount 1992-2006: Delirium 2003 Drop Tower 1999 Invertigo 1999 The Bat 1993 Xtreme Skyflyer 1995 Flight of Fear 1996 Flying ace aerial Chase 2001 Kite Eating Tree 2006 Linus Launcher 2006 Sally’s sea plane 1998 Surf dog 2006 Woodstock Whitley birds 1998 Back lot stunt coaster 2005 Son of Beast 2000 (removed) Tomb raider 2002 (Removed) Scooby doo and the haunted castle 2003 (removed) Cedar Fair 2006 - Present. Banshee 2014 Cargo loco 2023 Sol spin 2023 Orion 2020 Kings mills antique autos 2019 Wind seeker 2011 Boo blasters on boo hill 2010 Snoopy’s space buggies 2015 Woodstock gliders 2015 Diamondback 2009 Mystic Timbers 2017 Firehawk 2008 (removed) It’s clear that during the 14 years of Paramount Kings Island saw its most additions with 6 coasters and 10 rides although 1 coaster and 2 rides have been removed, this would also mean Paramount invested more money in Kings Island as well, if adjusted to todays prices. The most expensive coaster built by Paramount with adjusted inflation was Son of Beast which would’ve cost a whopping $36,285,000 to build in 2023. Cedar Fair who has operated KI for 17 years has made 12 additions, 5 of them being coasters and 7 being rides. The only ride / coaster removed was Firehawk. The most expensive coaster built by Cedar Fair with adjusted inflation would be Orion which would’ve cost $35,400,00 to be built in 2023.
  25. He also mentioned budget and trying to stay within it. That seems to be the trend. We got a poor man’s giga coaster in 2020 with Orion, and now we have a poor man’s Zamperla Endeavor for this season. Wonderful.
