  1. What does Chad have anything to do with Prestige?
  2. The safety issue is directly related to Carowinds maintenance department missing the crack during their daily inspections, this isn’t so much a ride defect. Like you said any person that sees B&M support structure or track is going to be asking “Why isn’t this coaster closed?” “Coasters of that style aren’t safe.” How are you going to tell them this isn’t from the same manufacturer when it actually is? The idea I was suggesting is that you would market what your park does to keep people safe. Carowinds caused distrust in the industry because of their complacency. Therefor showcasing how one does inspections and safety is essentially saving face while at the same time subtly throwing shade… Let’s get back on topic tho.
  3. No I’m not saying blatantly call out Carowinds. You would do it subtly by showing off how your park does its daily inspections and showcasing your maintenance department.
  4. You gotta throw shade! It’s a missed opportunity! This can be done subtly by Showcasing your maintenance department and promoting yourself. You know how many companies throw shade at McDonald’s Ice cream machines because they are constantly down? Also any amusement park incident or accident that makes national news looks bad for the industry as a whole. You gotta make it seem as if it’s a them problem and not a you problem.
  5. Is it me or is the park just trying to give the gate away? It seems they been advertising discounted tickets more than ever this season.
  6. I’m surprised no other park has taken this incident and made a marketing video of a backstage tour on how their coasters are kept safe with daily checks and stuff. If I was in marketing for a competing park I would be throwing major shade towards Carowinds.
  7. I hope they bring the fog machines back to the rides. Fog before you drop into the first tunnel on Beast would be amazing!
  8. Grizzly is amazing, although I also agree with @IndyGuy4KI they should do a bit more with it. It would be awesome if they enclosed the turn around below the first one and re profiled it by having it bank down into the next airtime hills before the break run. Racer75 was pretty horrible to look at. Intimidator 305 too, looked a bit long in the tooth. Here is a photo I’ve taken of Racer75 when I went back in June:
  9. A nice severance agreement can keep people quiet, especially if someone has vast knowledge of said company.
  10. I don’t see him being negative per se. I meant his comments will be more genuine. I can see him opening the first Buc-ee’s in Ohio, that would be awesome!
  11. Maybe now we will know how Don really feels about Kings Island related matters. Either way I wish him the best in his future endeavors!
  12. Dollyworld has proven you don’t need to waste money on IP’s like Peanuts to produce a quality kids area. You just need to theme it properly and have the right rides / coasters that are fun for family’s. I personally thought the reason we had Peanuts is because that’s what Kinzel grew up with.
  13. After reading the statement from the park and if you’re able to read between the lines it pretty much admits with out full blown coming out that their maintenance team missed this crack on the daily inspections. The picture that is a week old you can see faint line following up the darker one that is in the same shape as we see when the support is completely broke. Thankfully B&M had factors of safety in the design that saved people on this ride from serious harm or likely death.
  14. Whats more interesting is that its two different manufactures. Things wear down and if not addressed, stuff breaks. No manufacture is immune to it. But hey maintenance was sure to mark the check box that the track was walked and was visually inspected daily. Can’t prove it otherwise as long as the checked box says it was checked. I wouldn’t be surprised if the conclusion ends up being “instantaneous overload fracture”. Exactly like TTD.
  15. That is so true when it comes to Disney. Last year I purchased a 5 day ticket package for 5 days at Disney World. Hurricane Ian decided to make a turn towards Florida. So Disney decided to close the park for 2 days. I wasn’t going to be able to use my 5 tickets because of it so I went to get a refund on two of the tickets. Well, the Mouse had other plans. A 5 day ticket package makes per ticket cheaper than a 3 day package and since the Mouse already spent my money I was only refunded like $50 because according to the Mouse refunding two of the days turned my 5 day package into a 3 day one. Therefor increasing the price of each ticket… Happiest place on earth I tell ya.
  16. The queue line leading up to the coaster tells the story. I just don’t think a ride like Phantom Theatre in its 90s iteration has any place for Kings Island. Too many animatronics that won’t be kept up with, they just refurbished AE and the arrows and hammer men still have issues working properly.
  17. I’ve beaten this horse before but gut Boo Blasters and build something like Darkoaster inside. Give it Phantom Theatre theming and call it something like Maestro‘s Revenge. That’s an additional indoor coaster for winter fest, bad weather and potentially year round operations:
  18. Diamondback received addition footers / reinforcement during its lifetime:
  19. I couldn’t make out if they were painted white or not.
  20. Saw a crack on Diamondback I did not want to see. Thankfully the person corrected it quickly once they got off the train.
  21. Just Bottled Water. Very warm tho, maybe next time there will be a cooler.
  22. A Camp Snoopy retheme would bring a much welcomed addition of trees.
  23. Yes and amble locker storage.. Could’ve had better privacy tho.
  24. Just left the water park and now in the VIP changing lounge.
