Boring&Mudane rollercoasters are not rough at all.

It would be anarchy if The Beast would ever be removed.. But with The Beast being removed chances are slim to none. it wouldn't be my pick I would hate to see flight deck go. if they plan on removing any coaster I hate to say the Adventure Express would be my pick. It was my first roller coaster. But it's had it's time, I would love to see it replaced by a intamin coasted like maverick utilizing the theming and tunnels the Adventure Express currently uses.

Here's how my day went got to kings dominion at 11am headed straight for intimidator 305! Found out it was closed for the day, so i cried.. After wiping my tears i went on to ride volcano ( awesome ) and dominator ( which for a b&m i was kinda impressed ) i got beat up by a couple wooden coasters ( hurler & grizzly ) after a back realignment i rode some classics ricochet, shockwave and flying eagles. Got to the Eiffel Tower and did a u turn, got back on flying eagles, took some pictures from the ferris wheel and headed my way over to volcano and finished my day riding dominator twice ( walk on ) Left the park at close... Needless to say I'm still sad about intimidator.

Regulations changed and now Kings Island only operates 2 trains when it originally operated 4... It makes sense for safety reasons but as a rollback on FoF is possible but highly unlikely the LIM launch is not mechanical it's propulsion is electromagnetic. Being indoors cuts out the weather changing the launch outcome.. They could still run 3 trains because of the mcbr. once the train 1 passes threw a sensor completing the first loop the chances of rollback are slim to none the other two trains can move up a section, so train 2 goes from the unloading station to loading station and the train 3 waiting in the last brake run move to the unloading station it would still be more efficient, with 3 trains. Or the latter and it could end up like diamondstack and have two trains waiting and one train loading.. It all depends on the crew at that point.
-
Now that i think about this, doesn't Flight of Fear only operate with 2 trains? When it could easily operate with 3 trains.. Increasing its capacity.. It has a loading station a mid corse break run, a ending break run and a unloading station. What it the deal with that? One train loads the other unloads and one train runs the corse.

All the issues surrounding intanim lately, intimidator 305 closed, shoot the rapids closed, xcelerator closed... El toro closed... Skyrush and intimidator 305s retracking and restraint issues... Last month i was at Cedar Point, top thrill dragster and maverick were operating sporadically. I was at kings dominion today and intimidator 305 was closed.... Not to bash intanims my favorite coaster is millenium force but I'm growing frustrated paying all this money to see these beautiful intanims SBNO... It seems that The last couple of years B&M has been manufacturing more coasters and has been Cedar Fairs new go to manufacture which used to be intanim.... Are we seeing the downfall of intanim as we know it?
-
Going to be at kings dominion for the first time tomorrow, unfortunately intimidator 305 is closed, anyone going to be there? Also going to Cedar Point next Thursday and Friday. ( not this coming )

remember the Dino's are still fairly new, I'm thinking 10-15 years down the road my thought Is that animatronics are not very cheap to maintain, depending on what these Dino's do. The helicopter on the stunt track is not what it used to be, it used to tuck away behind the wall, and face left and right while firing. And the back propeller used to rotate as well. No of those functions work anymore... When the Dino's lose the appeal and are no longer profitable the will see the door. On their way out.
-
I personally like Action Zone its theming was around it being a high energy part of the park with a lot of thrills. When Son of Beast took a tumble the Action Zone went with it... With the addition of Diamondback it had a lot of guest make there way over to rivertown. What Action Zone needs is a new roller-coaster ( Banshee ) and a good facelift, which is coming this year.
-
I don't think we will see a x base expansion for another 10-15 years or sometime after the 2019 new coaster.. What im expecting is for the Dino's to reach the end of there lifespan. ( animatronics do not last very long ) once the Dino's are up they will remove the warehouses and expand that way, connecting with the path that would be for Dino's connecting to coney mall creating a loop with no bottle necking problems, like the current x base has... With that it gives alot of new room for more coasters and flat rides..

Kings Island is only a few peices away from becoming the second most attended seasonal park in North America, behind canadas wonderland.. An intanim giga will do the trick.

Kings Island was paramounts flagship park http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paramount_Parks.. Paramount did have innovative rides, Flight of Fear was the first coaster to use LIM launch, king cobra was the first standup coaster, the crypt was the first giant top spin, Son of Beast was the first hyper and looping wooden coaster. The 2009 incident was a joke your telling me it would take 2 weeks for the victim or anyone in the victims family to report the accident.. I bet she had a freak incident and once she got the medical bills she didnt want to cover them, they tested the ride and it away functioning properly.. I did not compare manufactures and which one was better all i said was i like a variety of coaster manufacturers. I like the fact that different manufactures bring different things to the table it makes the coasters more unique rather than having a bunch of coasters from one manufacture. If all the steel coasters in Kings Island where from b&m you could definitly tell that the ride experience is much like the other B&M's in the park. B&m elements all feel the same just about. Same for intanim

I hope there isn't a theme song to Banshee, i don't want to have to listen to it for 2 hours over and over while waiting in line, Flight of Fear's movie clip over and over gets old. A good lineup of music will do.

I miss Kings Island being a flagship park, i miss the theming and ride names as well... One thing i liked about paramount compared to Cedar Fair ownership was that paramount had balls, they would install unique rides and roller-coasters, things that were new to the amusement park industry. Gold/platinum pass holders got better benefits. Things i didn't like about paramount was they started duplicating rides and roller-coasters, more and more cookie cutter... they didn't maintain the parks or rides and coasters especially their wooden coasters.. With Cedar Fair i do like that they maintain their parks rides and coasters they also care about their guests. I also like now that my platinum pass will get me into Cedar Point. I like the new CEO and the direction he wants to take the chain, making each park its own standout park meaning less cookie cutter and copy cats.. Things i don't like about Cedar Fair ownership is removal of theming that didn't need to be removed because of the paramount ownership rights. I don't like how they bandaid fixed Son of Beast, then ended up giving up on the coaster all together even tho the 2009 complaint was a joke how do you get a head bleed from the ride 2 weeks after ridding it so they close it. Cedar Fair wanted a reason to remove Son of Beast, and wash their hands clean from the 2006 accident.. Which was paramounts fault for not maintaining their rides. I don't like how Cedar Fair recently has been stuck on b&m yes b&m make great rollercoasters but each manufacture makes a different style of ride.. Ride an arrow or intanim hyper then ride Diamondback and tell me the difference. I like having a variety lineup of rollercoasters and manufactures.. Other than that Kings Island has a bright future in the hands of Matt ouimet and the ki management.. Hopefully Matt will bring more things to the table from his tenure in Disney...

if anyone knew how much Kings Island was making and there budget on a year to year basis would make these posts more realistic

First year under my operation ( 2014) would be to remove trims brakes from The Beast, and continue annual retracting as needed. Retrack rough parts of The Racer and repaint the white supports.. Refill the splashdown area for the stunt track.. Have a 3rd train running for Flight of Fear to increase ride capacity. 2015: have SS power to increase the length of flight deck, repaint flight deck black supports with orange tracks renaming it to The Bat. Shut down and dismantle snoopy's splash dance. 2016: add new kids ride in place of snoopy's splash dance, add fountains in a walkway so kids can walk threw them to get wet... Have SS power retrack parts of Vortex for smoother transitions, repaint Vortex. 2017: off year move maintence barns that are adjacent to x base further away from the park.. 2018: add toilet bowl slide and trapdoor water slide to Soak City. 2019:remove the wolf pack and the rest of the Son of Beast track, leaving the station left. 2020: build young studs intanim giga coaster utilizing the old sob station, and build a unloading bay for increased capacity. 2021: off year, yearly maintenance. 2022: build dark flat ride inside of the crypt, with new theming. 2023: off year, remove Dino's 2024 extend x base towards where dinos was located add restroom and restaurants. 2025: add 2 new flat rides at x base. 2026: add water coaster to Soak City. 2027: build the worlds first b&m 4D coaster in base. 2028: off year maintence. 2029: add new kids ride. 2030: retire, and freeze myself in cryo have my body hidden in the park like Walt Disney. Just kidding

I wouldn't mind seeing b&m make new trains for Vortex, they would probably look like the ones on steel dragon, except with over the shoulders restraints like Gatekeeper or Banshee.

<a href="http://s362.photobucket.com/user/x241/media/2019ki.png.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i362.photobucket.com/albums/oo63/x241/2019ki.png" border="0" alt=" photo 2019ki.png"/></a> i already posted this before on the starting to decode thread, they will reuse the Son of Beast station and build a giga coaster and use the remaining space behind the Banshee...
-
Kep in mind, Troy, that with the area being used for Banshee, there is still a TON of room left where SOB once stood, plenty of terrain for an out and back type coaster, and, a certain haunt, for the forseeable future...This ride is a winner. A guaranteed top 5 ranked steel coaster for the next 10 + years. no doubt its going to be a winner, it just seems like they wasted a whole lot of potential the rollercoaster could of had...

You know what world records are good for? Listing on a sign outside of the ride entrance. That's about it.I'd take a good ride experience over over-hyped statistics any day. statistics matter, would you ride the flying aces 20 times a day? Having a bigger hill/drop plus more inversions on a coaster like this doesn't hurt the ride experience in any way. Plus with invert coaster production down its a records that will hold for decades. Invest a little more and get a bigger payoff, which is great because that means the next coaster will have a bigger budget from gained revenue which could mean a multiple of things.Do you really think Banshee having one more record to gloat about is going to affect per caps spending? Please! multiple records yes, this coaster only has one, the whole this is the fastest none launch invert is a filler record, it holds no water, that's like me saying this coaster has a world record for most bolts used. Cedar Fair is what it is today because of record smashing coasters, place two parks side by side, one park has alot of record breaking coasters the second prk has just your average roller coasters like Diamondback, everything else the same. You will get way more people in the first park.
