  1. Funny that you should make this poll. I can go on Top Thrill Dragster, Millennium Force, Son of Beast, but I am terrified of Ferris Wheels, Drop Zone, Power Tower Turbo Drop, and Skyline type rides.
  2. "Wild Thornberry's had a photo thing before any other ride at the park (when it was Kings Mill). They use to put a flag on your boat if you wanted a picture and the people at the photo booth would take a Polaroid of your log as it was coming down the hill." I've been going to KI since it opened and I didn't know that. I bet it was a Polaroid Instamatic picture. How cheesy, but cool.
  3. ^True, but those cars don't come cheap. It's all about return on investment. It would be easier to re-name and re-paint Beastie to Fairly Odd.
  4. "And we can't add one of these why? Apparently the cash strapped Six Flags can.... Oh that's right, we got Italian Job." Funny stuff, AZ.
  5. Looks like another good hypercoaster from B&M. I haven't been to SFOG since I was about 8 or 9 years old.
  6. The floral clock is still there. Not sure when the ivy tunnel was removed. I used to love hanging out there. Was nicely shaded.
  7. Not to sound mean, but, you didn't check the calendar on their web site? I always do. Not usually to see if they were open, but to check the hours. Could have easily been avioded.
  8. Have we determined whether or not it will be a clone of the other two Italian Job coasters?
  9. I agree with you Scoob. Reptar should have an on-ride photo. I mean, even the Wild Thornberries flume has an on-ride photo. Myself, I have an on-going collection of me on different coasters. Where did you find that pic?
  10. Much to other's surprise, I am not going to bash IJ:ST. It's not the type of coaster I like, but it seems that it is highly popular amongst families. Not real fast, but not Antique Cars slow either. There are some nifty special effects, the launch up the spiral is pretty good, and the second launch into the tunnel is cool and there are some surprises in the tunnel. It does sound like you have some catching up to do. So, it seems that there will be a lot of new things for you to try out.
  11. "maybe they can run an electric current through it so when you touch it it zaps you. Then when the train gets back to the station, anyone with smoking nostrils and frizzy hair automatically gets ejected from the park." ROFLAMO!
  12. Their whole chain is only worth a case of Milwaukee's Best Ice.
  13. Maybe The Beastie is getting renamed and a new paint job?
  14. Cool. "Kingda Ka has alot more downtime then IJST." True enough, but record breakers attract more attention. "And what is with CP being the number one park? With the slipping guest I think they should have lost a few spots." The voting was actually done before the season started. So, I'm thinking next year PKI will take over that spot. If not, it's rigged.
  15. Have you actually been on Kingda Ka? Do you know for a fact that there is no airtime on that bunny hop? Or, are you just going by what others have told you?
  16. "If they do break the record of sob and beast then Kings Island will probabaly fight back and build a wooden coaster that cowboy.gif : crushes every wooden coaster!" I highly doubt it. PKI is not in to breaking records any more. Also, SOB has had too many problems for them to consider building something bigger. It didn't exactly get the warmest reception either.
  17. "Yes I heard about Fabio on MF and a girl on maXair." Actually, it was not on maXair or MF and it wasn't at Cedar Point. He got hit in the face while riding Apollo's Chariot at Busch Gardens Williamsburg. maXair wasn't even built yet. Fabio hit by bird On another note, you won't have that problem on TTD because they have something on the tower that makes a sound annoying to the birds so such collisions don't happen.
  18. I believe it Ghost. I'm sure they have it in the bag for this year too.
  19. Could be rented out for corporate events.
  20. Thanks. This is not coming as a surprise since they have pretty much wrecked the entire chain with their overspending on captial improvements and ignoring the simple things like cleanliness and friendly employees. Last I read, Dan Snyder, owner of the Washington Redskins, was wanting to take over management of the properties. He had some good ideas like improving customer service and selling off land that wasn't being used to avoid paying taxes on it.
  21. I doubt the whole chain is being sold. Got a link to the article where you read this? They have been selling off some of their parks.
  22. It's the Golden Ticket Awards by Amusement Today magazine. They ask people who travel to many amusement parks every year and they vote on favorite wooden coaster, favorite steel, best kids' area and so forth. You can find the 2004 Golden Ticket Awards here...Amusement Today PKI has won for the best kids' area for I think four years in a row. Cedar Point usually wins for highest capacity and some of their coasters are world ranked.
  23. "It's a shame that the Casper franchise is too old to theme a dark ride to." I couldn't agree more. All of those cartoons are gone and basically forgotten, other than Popeye. You could have dueling coasters that would be Popeye vs. Bluto. The only bad thing is, when the trains come close to eachother, you'd have to throw punches at people on the other train.
  24. tubaman, nice pic. I haven't seen it or seen it posted anywhere. Looks awesome, though.
  25. While something like the rollersoaker might seem cool, it has terrible capacity. Oh wait, a lot of rides at PKI have low capacity, it should fit right in.
