  1. ^And, I find that the improvements are making it better each season that goes by. Part of the problem for SOB IS the trains. Wayyyyyy too much shuffling going on with the cars.
  2. I think this new freefall ride sounds pretty good. Here's the link from coasterbuzz. S&S Sonic Boom Freefall On the coasterbuzz page, there is a link to some pics of this new ride.
  3. I'd rather go to SFGadv to ride Kingda Ka and the new woodie being installed there. The only reason I would consider SFMM is X. Oh yeah. What is a tatsu?
  4. I am going to go to Beastbuzz 2006. This will be my first time going to an event. Anyone from here plan on going?
  5. ^To add to that, it was also believed that the suspended coasters would be able to do loops as well as corkscrews. Shaggy, I also got to ride The Bat and it was a wild ride, even though the swinging was violent. The reason the coaster didn't have banking was because Arrow believed that the shocks would be enough to absorb the punishment that the wild swinging caused. Sure, The Bat only did 35mph, but, that doesn't mean it would be boring by today's standards at all. It's not all about speed or height. The swinging is what made it thrilling, not the speed.
  6. Ryan, maybe you could do an end of season video now and then later in the offseason, you guys could release a winterfest video to get us through those long winter months?
  7. Shaggy to the rescue again. Nice. I just don't forsee PKI installing a new flume ride of any kind.
  8. I agree, rail rider. The reason B&M doesn't go over the 300ft. mark is because they are not comfortable building something that large. When you think about it, there are only four coasters over 300ft. anyway. As far as the launches go, B&M feels that LIM or LSM launches are not very reliable. And, B&M are all about their coasters being highly reliable and not down for maintenance that much.
  9. I didn't read the other four pages, but, I wouldn't mind a B&M floorless at PKI. I've only been on Dominator at GL, but, it's a fast, smooth coaster with a heck of a loop and the interlocking corkscrews are pretty sweet. IMO, with B&M, you can't go wrong.
  10. I'd like to see a King Kong based ride. Anyone have a suggestion as to what they could do?
  11. But, we don't know what sensations Skyhawk will deliver. It could turn out to be quite different. I'll reserve judgement until I get to take a spin on it. Ummmm, no. Why would they install a gyro drop when they already have the Power Tower? However, GL would make more sense since they don't have a ride like that. And, considering that CP is already trying to sell Demon Drop, I just don't see a gyro drop in their future because it delivers the same basic sensation as PT.
  12. I like the air time on Vortex from the back seat too, Klockster. I love how you are whipped through the vertical loops. Mostly, my favorite seat on any coaster is the back seat. Magnum XL200 at CP gets a lot of good air time in the back, but my knees were punished by the lap bar. But, it was worth it.
  13. ^Sorry, I don't think it would make TG much more exciting. If you're going to have inverted like seats, might as well install an invert. Which brings me to this question. Why is PKI dissing us by not installing a B&M invert? They have proven to be extremely popular and new ones are popping up every year. And, I don't want to hear the old "family attraction" arguement. It holds no water at all. My grandfather and I rode The Beast when it opened. Doesn't that make it a family ride?

^I was going to ask the same thing. Are you serious about that Combat? I had not heard that one.
  15. Exactly, which coasters are copies at Cedar Point? None.
  16. Railrider, I like the looks of the Huss Jump2. Looks pretty good. It could easily go where the laser tag is.
  17. I agree Legend Rider. I've tried to get people to speak well and try to type complete coherent thoughts, but, it's a losing battle. On topic, after riding the Big Dipper at Geauga Lake, SOB seems pretty smooth. I thought it gave some good rides this year.
  18. I guess you all know by now that SFGadv is not taking the record for speed or height.
  19. Me too. To me, it will always be the Scooby Doo. The general public won't give a crap about a name change from The Beastie to Fairly Odd Coaster or whatever name they choose.
  20. "Wouldn't that be more fitted to be put in Challenge Park. It'll be a pay attracion. Thats what I think." This one will not be a pay per attraction. This one has more seats than the pay ones.
  21. This rumor has been all over the internet. CF might buy Astroworld, but don't count on it. Any time a park is being sold, CF's name comes up and people say that they are interested.
  22. I would think that eventually a loaning institution has to draw a line somewhere, payments or not.
  23. "And no its not like a fly swatter! I wish it was!!" LOL. SKY SWATTER! I think that this is what will be installed at CP for '06. Lots of coaster enthusiasses will be mad.
  24. "From what i understand, wildwater kingdom-phase one did not bring in the people they were wanting. I hope the crowds start returning soon. I would hate to see geauga lake follow the same path as astroworld." Maybe it didn't bring in the numbers that they were hoping for, but it has brought people back to GL and that's what it was intended to do. Klockster, GL is not really in competition with CP. GL is more family friendly and not a thrill park like CP. Also, CP is a resort destination whereas GL can easily be done in a day. I am hoping that in 2007, GL will finally be installing the long rumored hypercoaster.
  25. Found the story over on coasterbuzz This is a very nice thing for them to do. Although, at first I was thinking that these people had much more to worry about then spending a day at PKI. However, it might make at least one day for them to forget about their troubles. Very classy move.
