It's ok that you think that rap sucks, but there are a lot of people who don't feel that way. So, not every concert that is scheduled is gonna cater to only your musical interests.
  2. I thought that it was stated that the paramount theming would stay. Not sure how many years that it will stay that way. Most all of these predictions are laughable at best. What's with the free parking anyway? Do you get free parking when you buy a season pass? I know it's not free on a daily basis. There still could be a buy early pass, depending on how CF views the choice of doing it. Maybe they will, maybe they won't. Point is, there's not much use of speculating as NO ONE has any idea what changes will be made that haven't already been stated. Also, the changes that were made to GL were solid business decisions. Getting rid of the Sea World side was sad to some, but CF is not in the business of caring for animials. You have to have the attendance to justify staying open later in the year or having some type of Halloween event. They don't make these decisions to tick people off. It's plain smart business. This also doesn't mean that if attendance picks up, people won't start asking for some Halloween event and later operating days. But, to just stay open later in the year when no one attends makes no sense. For the moment, it would just be a loss to them. And, there not in the biz to lose money.

Too funny! I'd be scared to call myself pretty.

I'm confused, Klockster...So, you're saying that a guest didn't bring the gun in? If not, then I'm assuming one of the crew with Pretty Ricky brought it in? And, if it was someone from the crew and it took place in the parking lot, I still maintain that metal detectors would not have helped if this incident took place there and not inside the park.
  5. Great to hear that you and the Mrs. were able to spend time together alone. Sounds like you had a good time in typical Chef fashion. Just wait until junior chef is old enough to ride with you. My nephew is just getting to the age where he wants to ride because daddy rides. Can't wait until he's ready to ride the big boys with daddy and uncle Brian.
  6. I really like The Vortex as well. I love the little dip before the big drop. It sets you up for a gut-wrenching drop, which is something that is lacking from many of the large coasters today. MF and TTD just don't have that kind of drop.
  7. Great info, Shaggy. I usually grab a park map every time I go, but I don't have them for every year, just when I have been. Mostly, I collect on-ride photos. I have one for Vortex, IJ:ST, Face/Off, Son of Beast. I have others, but they were taken with ex-girlfriends. Now, I have learned a lesson. Only buy on-ride photos with friends, not girlfriends. Now, I need to go back and get one for The Beast, again.

Well, since it happened in the parking lot, metal detectors didn't help at all.

How many shootings has KI had since before the metal detectors? Answer=None. I think that you are overstating a little.
  10. Typically, guests eat around the 12pm and 5pm times. This would be a good time to queue up for Drop Zone or Face/Off since they are the slowest moving lines.
  11. Start at the back of the park. Everyone goes for Action Zone first. Beast will probably be a walk-on and Tomb Raider will be about 1-2 cycles wait time. Not too shabby!
  12. Nobody really knows how often any ride will be closed. Unless you ask Miss Cleo. Seriously, no rides are closed regularly for maintenance like X at SFMM was. There's no telling when they will go down or come back up.
  13. No, I wasn't really referring to any one poster in particular. What I have been reading suggests that some believe that the execs at CF haven't considered some of the things that we are discussing, like separate gate fees and a lot of other junk.
  14. That's a loaded question. No doubt, money will be spent on new attractions. Will they still go the same route as Paramount? Only time will tell. I will say that it would be smart to keep KI moving in the same type of direction that it has been. I'm sure CF doesn't want identical parks that close to each other. Or, is this another wish list? If so, I'll take B&M for $15,000, Mr. Trebek.
  15. ^I wasn't upset. But, some people are assuming that automatically, since KI is now a CF property, BB will definitely be a separate charge. I'm saying that it's not necessarily going to happen. There are as many CF properties that do as there are that do not charge separate gates. And, there's also the assumption that the execs at CF haven't considered any of the things that we are talking about.
  16. One of these days, I'm gonna have to make it to one of these media events. Yes, Ryan, I am jealous.
  17. The only way that BB becomes a separate gate is IF, and this is a big IF, KI becomes a resort destination. Say it with me now...RESORT DESTINATION. Otherwise, it stays the same. It is NOT common practice for Cedar Fair to charge for separate gates. It's already been mentioned that a good portion of them do not.
  18. Great report, Combat. Glad to hear that SOB is better than ever. I can't wait to make my first visit, which will probably be in July or August. In June, I'll be going to CP since I haven't been since 2003, when Dragster opened. I want to see how maXair and Skyhawk are.
  19. I agree, Klockster, that Vortex will probably stay. Look how long Corkscrew has been operating at CP. Relax, people. 20 million is a lot of money to be spent on one park. Dragster and MF both cost 25 mill. a piece. You can still get a lot of rides, coasters, and improvements with 20 mill. Now, if they had said 2 million, then you could have worried.
  20. I'm not 100% sure, but I wouldn't think that paint would affect the LIM's in the least. Magnetism is magnetism and unless there's something physical to hinder them, then I would say not.
  21. Combat, I think that eventually King's Island will become a resort destination. Not sure if any of the other parks will follow suit. What King's Island needs is a hotel, campground, and some kind of camper village, all within reasonable distance to entrance gates.
  22. Combat, I thought that I was the only one that liked RC.
  23. The best advice that I was given was to start at the back of the park and make your way to the front. Last time I did this, The Beast was a walk-on in the morning as people tend to head to Action Zone first.
