Photo TR: CP
Excellent trip report, Ronny! I am so glad that someeone has finally gone there and can shed some light on what there is to do at CP. Too often, CP is overlooked for the amusement giants. While I love KI and Cedar Point, I grew up taking class trips to Camden at the end of the year. It was something that I always looked forward to. Of course, back in those days, it was $6.50 for an all day hand stamp or you had the option of paying .50 cents to get in and buy tickets to ride. And, even though the price has gone up and you have to pay for parking now, I feel it is worth it considering the amount of work the owners have put in to Camden. The Paratroopers, the Haunted House, and the Bullseye have all been recently painted. I myself, will be going with the wife and we are excited to try out the new miniature golf course. Except this time, I'll have to ride Big Dipper alone since my wife can no longer ride. Hopefully I can catch a ride on the Skydiver as I have never been on one of those.

Thunderhawk: Mayhem In Michigan, Get In The Loop
Glad to see it is getting rave reviews. I know coaster enthusiasts were not all that wild about the addition, but the GP is loving it.

At least it's not $4 a gallon ... yet :)
Sorry about that, Gordon. I won't make any more political comments. If gas goes to $7.00, I could see a whole lot of people looking for second or third incomes.

New track?
It could also be done here, possibly. They now have Intaride USA ( I think an american branch of Inamin Worldwide). Not sure what all they have here, but there could be a manufacturing facility here. Or, maybe they contract someone else here in the states similar to what B&M does in Batavia.

I know this goes against the TOS, but, even Hillary has metioned how there are way too many families that are one pink slip or one medical problem from winding up poor. If the candidates are acknowledging this, surely it really is an issue.

CI Shooting Star
Well, I hope to make a trip there this year. I've never been to Coney, and I'd love to experience something smaller than KI or CP (other than Camden Park). I think that is where they have found their niche. Considering where they are, they really could not compete with KI. So, why not go for the demographic that enjoys smaller parks and crowds?

Should the Clown Band Come Back to Kings Island for Good?
Bring back the clown band. They were highly entertaining and really funny. Never did catch an air show.

Newspaper Article About The Beach Water Park
Seems to me that their thinking is the same as Kinzel's. That attendance at amusement parks may rise due to people staying closer to home.

Could pepsi be coming to Kings Island?
^That is the most intelligent post I've read in this entire thread.

Ahhh, don't see that. How do you think this is an accurate statement? If you are not seeing this, then you are obviously blind. The middle class families have been disappearing for years...meaning they probably joined the have nots and not by choice. Actually don't see a lot of have nots any more. I can speak on this topic as I grew up DIRT POOR. I remember mom working two jobs just so that we could barely make it from week to week. I remember not being able to have a window replaced in the garage door because it cost $20 and that we'd not be able come up with that kind of money. A lot of people don't realize what poor really is in this day and age. Now granted, both sets of my parents have more money now than I'd be able to spend. (Darn Them! <G>) But ya just don't see a lot pure struggling like there was at one time. Just because YOU don't see the struggling doesn't mean it's not going on. I see it all the time. It's far worse than it has ever been.

SFKK Victim Kaitlyn Lassiter to Join Rep. Markey At Federal Hearing on Wednesday
^Not yet. And now, he's roped in an innocent little girl.

Ask and you shall receive!
I'll bet it's not a Dive Machine(coaster). Shaggy has stated this at Coasterbuzz and I believe it.

Thunderhawk: Now You Can Fly At Michigan's Adventure
Wonder how the GP is responding to their "new" coaster? I personally liked it when it was at Geauga.

And, you can partly attribute high gas prices to world demand going up. I read somewhere that there are more Chinese people buying cars than ever. And I'm sure they are not the only country demanding more. More world demand = less to go around to us.

The Big Dipper
Here's a link to their page about the celebration of Big Dipper. You have to scroll to the very bottom of the page. Apparently, there will be fireworks. Camden Park Events

The Big Dipper
I saw a commercial recently for Camden and they are going to be celebrating the Big Dipper's 50th anniversary July 18th 2008. I, for one, am going to go with my brother and my wife. Still one of my most favorite small parks. I plan on taking several pics of the Dipper and some general park photos as well. Anyone else going?

Food Prices discussion
Then again, it's the quality for what you are paying for that people are upset about. If I was buying an $8 hamburger for $10, not bad. If I'm buying a $2 hamburger and paying $10, then I think it's not worth it at all. And therein lies the problem...quality of the food. And I agree that their pricing is right in line with most other amusement parks. On the other hand, I understand that Kennywood has good food at good prices, so there's always an exception to the rule.

KI needs a webcam!
Yes, KI needs a construction cam just like Cedar Point does. And maybe at least one other pointing out onto one of the midways.

Still have 55 posts!
16 zillion sounds too few to me. Boddah, I thought it was the most toys wins!

New track?
Shaggy has stated on Coasterbuzz that this is definitely not a dive coaster. THAT, I can believe.

Your reaction to the Racer news
Yeah, well, if you scraped up enough change from your couch, you could probably afford a SF season pass. I will miss the bacwards Racer. I may just skip it this year.

Camden Park Teases for 2008
So cool. So, will this be a new mini golf course? I know there was one already, but can't remember if it was 18 holes. Never played it. And, if the old wasn't 18 holes, is the new a redo of the old with additional play? I really need to get to Camden.

Both sides of Racer going forward
