  1. ^And I had the exact opposite experience with Maverick. I found the OTSR's to be comfortable...a lot more comfortable than the older Arrow coasters like Vortex.
  2. I agree Delorean Rider. I don't see this as a new coaster concept, just more like a simulation type of ride.
  3. ^And I was at KI the year The Beast opened...man I am feeling old.

Congratulations Undertaker! Can't wait to check out the new commercial. It will be awesome to see you again at FF.
  5. You can't bring back the eagles considering it is located at Carowinds. You would have to buy a new set of flyers.
  6. I vote Ryan and Interpreter co-presidents of Cedar Fair. Seriously, I think if you took what both of you stated originally and implemented them, KI would be on par and ahead of many other parks in the CF chain.

Undertaker is coming back? That IS great news! Plus his range will be larger now? Awesome!

^For one, I don't think Intamin was building wooden coasters in 2000. I could be wrong. I really don't see a design problem either. Son of Beast is a 218 ft coaster and I'm not sure how tight the turns could be considering you are going a lot faster on SOB than The Beast. It's what...80mph compared to about 50 mph...HUGE difference. I think SOB has just proven that wood coasters were just not meant to be built that big.
  9. I completely agree. When I was a kid, I didn't know any better. Now that I am an informed enthusiast, I would never ride one of those death traps again.
  10. I think that CF will keep the license with Nick and maybe place those in their other parks. Peanuts is on its' way out same as HB. I doubt Peanuts will be coming to KI.
  11. Well, let me tell you about my first job. I worked at a mexican restaurant as a dishwasher. Minimum wage and zero perks. Did I like my job? Not really. I went home wet & smelly. I really just enjoyed the people I worked with. At one time, I wanted to be manager at that place. I had really high hopes only to have them dashed later by an inept owner. I wound up working for them for 10 years and the only benefit I ever received was a weeks paid vacation. It was after nine years and failing to get the management job that I decided that I needed a new direction in life. I would never make great money nor would I ever see any other benefits. So, I went to the junior college for business management and have been an accountant since then. So, I do know what it's like to work for minimum wage and no perks.
  12. Actually, I don't care to talk about my job at all. I like it and it pays well. Point being, there are always people and situations that you won't like. I don't have any perks either. I work at an airport. I don't fly free. I don't get discounts. Nobody throws me a party. And I certainly don't get to ride any coasters or come in the park for free when I'm not working. And I'm also thinking that those who choose to blab or text on their cell phones all day instead of paying attention or doing their jobs should have zero perks and should be made to leave their cell phones at home or have them taken away. Personally, it looks very unprofessional to be using your cell phone when you should be doing your job. You're not getting paid to use your phone. And telling me to shut up is just plain childish. In case you forgot, everyone on here is entitled to an opinion whether you like it or agree with it or not. CF is not ruining KI. Be glad Six Flags didn't have the ability to buy it or you'd be in a far worse situation.
  13. Here's a suggestion. Buy KI yourself and then do whatever you want with it. Obviously, some on here have had no other jobs and don't know what it's like in the real working world. You're not going to like everybody, there are always a-holes, and if you hate it that much, go work somewhere else and see that you can't get away from these things no matter where you are employed. I love this quote, "They gave you reasons to do your job. " The reason is a paycheck. It's really that simple. It's called work for a reason
  14. I would not have thought that 6F was in a position to buy any properties. At least not for the next 5 years.
  15. ^So, no Taliban on the go carts?
  16. That is awesome that you guys lost weight and you felt motivated to do this. I am trying to get my fiance' to lose a little weight as she could not ride Millennium Force this summer and she wanted to ride really bad. It kinda made me mad that the MF ride ops wouldn't even try to help her. He just stood there with his arms folded shaking his head no. At least on Dragster, they made an attempt and she fit.
  17. False advertisement is just not that simple. I promise you that you would have to prove that they were purposefully misleading you into thinking that something was there that wasn't. It's not as simple as you said you have it and you don't.
  18. And no, it is not almost false advertisement. When dealing with false advertisement, you have to prove that company did this with some kind of malicious intent.
  19. I've been on those slides at GL and they are a lot of fun. KI could use something like that.
  20. Thanks! I am new to taking pics, so there were some I didn't post because part of the coasters were cut off. I'm going to try and take pics when I go to Fearfest. Should be better than these. On the Raptor photos, I went between a couple of buildings to try and snap some different angles than what I have previously seen.
  21. Don't be so cold, wooferbear. In the grand scheme of things, it doesn't matter if the attorney wrote those lines or not. Fact is, this girl was injured and it was not rider error. Somebody must pay. Case closed.
  22. I just now got the time to do this, so, here are some pics I took at CP. Cedar Point photo bucket
  23. My name is Brian...and I am a Beast addict. Have been ever since about 1982. I still have not kicked the habit and I'm not sure I ever will. I want to do the same thing my grandfather did...ride The Beast well into his 70's. Long Live The Beast!
  24. To the original poster, I hope you stick around. Granted, not the right foot to get off on, but I have made my fair share of complaints in the past. I am sad to hear that ride crews are going downhill. After making my first visit to CP in 2000, I thought to myself, these are some of the best ride crews I've ever been around. Completely blew away KI at that time. About 3-4 years ago, my opinion changed so much that it was a complete 180 in that I was observing KI's crews had greatly improved all the meanwhile, CP's were losing that edge. Seems that it has turned back to CP's favor.
  25. SHHH! I don't know how you found out, but don't let anyone else know! The Lake Erie saltwater keeps messing up the hydraulic launch motor. No, that's all wrong. They are replacing the hydraulic motor with LIMS and will be using the hydraulic motor for the Frog Hopper.
