  1. Meaning that in Europe forseeability goes less far? I know in the United States forseeability extends quite far.
  2. You're an idiot. I'm not joking about the kid, or his death, or his parents, or anyone related to him. I made a word play about the park, and in the very next sentence said I hope the cause is found. Question; when you see the meme "jet fuel can't melt steel beams", your reaction is...? Okay then... I only ask if you would say that joke to the family of the deceased. Some things should not be joked about. Edit: Disregard this; I just saw he's banned.
  3. Not funny. I was going to let it go, but apparently it wasn't just an unfortunate lapse in judgment. A child has died; what is your problem? I really don't understand people like you.
  4. I'd go with that plane thing that Canada's Wonderland got or or a Zamperla Air Race for the Flight Commander spot.
  5. It should be about time we started seeing some of those European flats that Cedar Fair was looking around for. It would be a nice touch for the anniversary.
  6. How about a jojo roll? See Hydra. I think it's just a block with a movie scene.
  7. GCI rework with full retrack and significant reprofiling and new Millennium Flyer Trains. Can they just put the new trains on The Beast while they're paying GCI all this dough?!? Where's Terp been lately? I'm wondering if I'll be shocked this month.
  8. Three completely different thoughts on Mystic Timbers. 1. The rendering looks like the now defunct CCI could have built it-- a very good thing! 2. The name is kind of weak. I wonder if that was the first choice. 3. How will WWC be after this? Will it still seem secluded?
  9. At the time I had wondered if a replacement necessarily meant a wooden coaster. We now know it was! Way to come through Mr. Ouimet.
  10. It looks like a fun coaster! 3300 feet and 3 trains? How is that going to work? Maybe "the shed" is an elaborate way to get it to run with 3 trains without people getting bored on the brake run?
  11. I rode it Wednesday. Awesome ride! It has the same type of seat belts DB has.
  12. Also New Texas Giant. I know that the trains were not designed or built by RMC, but it was horrible nonetheless. It surely cast doubt on the company in the minds of Cedar Fair execs if it was under consideration. If you don't believe me on that remember that that accident caused them to add seat belts to Diamondback, a completely unrelated coaster from B&M who has a perfect safety record.
  13. Those who know speak out of their mouths. A lot of people here don't speak from their mouths.
  14. I doubt the mouse would be amused.Sent from my iOS 10 device The mouse can pound sand! Beauty and The Beast is a public domain fairy tale. The public domain still exists despite Disney's best efforts!
  15. Those fancy auto-mobeels weren't invented in the Rivertown days!
  16. Don't forget ole Paul Bunyan!
  17. Lightning Rod is as wooden as Adventure Express.
  18. Yeah, I was going to mention that as well. I'd be curious to see if GCI could do it. The problems with the Voyage for instance are partially because of its PTC trains, (and possibly the steel structure). If anyone can do it and do it reliably, it's GCI.
  19. When you get near 200 feet the cost goes up, not only to cover that height but also in track length if you want a decent ride time for the coaster. A hyper is usually over 5000 feet, a giga, 6000 ft. It's not about height. That was another time and even then it only affected a small number of parks and a small number of coasters. Ghostrider, Thunderhead, The Legend and Cornball Express are much smaller and far better than SOB was. SOB was a marketer's dream and a rider's nightmare. It's about how enjoyable the ride is not how marketable it is.
  20. I concur with you on Millennium Force. However, I respectfully disagree on Voyage, my favorite coaster out of 132 riddenIt definitely has negative g's with it's 20 plus seconds of airtime! I also feel solid laterals on it. Now pacing, maybe I can see your beef there. To me it's like being on a bucking bronco and you might not feel like you're really traveling in any particular direction. It's just chaos, especially the second half. I'm different than most coaster fans in that I like Legend better than Raven.
  21. This is something that Mr. Ouimet has let me down on. The additions at the Cedar Fair parks themselves have been pretty good, if not all that themed, which is fine with me. The areas still should be themed pretty heavily in my opinion. It doesn't take a great deal of effort or money to have German food and music in the FESTHAUS or have some more international feel to International Street. Secondarily, while I'm offering constructive criticism, what has happened to special events at the park? Remember the early Cedar Fair days, the Skyline Eating Contest, Pete Rose, Robbie Knievel, Nik Wallenda, the Reds? They seem to have been cut off the last 5 years or so.That is part of the "best day of the summer" formula.
  22. Really? What about The Beast?
  23. I still wonder why they didn't drain the lake and refill it. It would have looked a lot better than a concrete pool. Maybe it would have cost too much.
  24. Track wood and support wood are not the same type. Kind of embarrassed that I know that. That can tell you if you somehow found out what wood that is.
  25. There have definitely been countdowns for coaster announcements though. I remember staying up for Diamondback's website countdown.. and then pretty sure nothing happened until the park announced it later in the day haha I remember that well. I stayed up until it hit 0 at midnight, and it made a loud noise and then reset itself to the correct time.
