Slightly more than the company's allowance for dry cleaning. -

Now I realize there's been a major shift. Carowinds is now one of the big boys which is exactly what they want and KD is almost like Carowinds used to be in terms of focus. -

I was thinking KD was 5th in importance and yes I suppose that should be on attendance, potential attendance and ROI. I was thinking it is treated as #5 actually #6 now that I think about it behind Canada's Wonderland, CP, KBF, KI and Carowinds. As far as Intimidator 305 disagreeing I was thinking about how CP is about to get 2 coasters since the 3rd year after 305 was built. I know that they know what their doing, money wise, I just never thought CP would get another large coaster before KD. -

A. From each according to its net income potential, to each according to that, too. B. KD was never the flagship. Under Paramount Parks, first Kings Island was, then Carowinds. Wasn't KD at least perceived as the flagship under Paramount by most? -

A large part of me thinks that renderings and simulations and published layouts actually ruin anticipation of new rides. If you ask me the original Beast TV advertisement was perfection. In this age though it's probably about impossible to keep a coaster's layout a secret. *SIDE NOTE: I feel for KD people a little. In the Paramount Era they were the flagship. It is probably #5 in importance to CF and it is clearly not getting the attention or big investments. -
Interesting, I had wondered about that, but I thought maybe it hadn't had to have it done because of the low g-forces. It's also worth noting that those two run year round, but I would say that Vortex's intense G's, coupled with cold winters more than make up for that. I gray out a little in between those loops.

Yep, this is the very reason why wood coasters tend to stick around longer. Metal fatigue resulted in the complete retracking of Space Mountain.

Dollywood 2016 Announcement

Excellent looking ride. Enthusiast geek in me is bothered that it's called wooden. These RMCs must be pricy given their shortish length compared to the other major manufacturers. That quadruple down is amazing. -

Is it just me or has Dive coaster been the go to DIVErsion in the past? -
So what woodie at Kings Island would you want to get an RMC treatment?
KI Guy replied to Oldschool75's topic in KI Polls
I'm confident it will happen eventually. Wooden coasters are quite popular at Kings Island and have been a proud Cincinnati tradition for decades. Also, Holiday World is showing them up on that front... whoah! -

The Beast is to Kings Island as Babe Ruth is to the Yankees.

It's funny, a certain person on a certain site actually threatened to ban people for disagreeing that Outlaw Run was a wooden coaster. I'm sure you know the donkey's rear of whom I'm speaking. -

They could probably even lessen the brakes on The Beast since those trains are articulated if they so desired. It might be like those legendary wet brakes rides I've heard about. -

How would the park do it?1. Design and build in house. 2. Outside designer and build in house. 3. Outside designer and outside builder Side note: Would GCI ever approve of running Millennium Flyers on a ride they didn't build or design? -
I'd like to see BLSC replaced by an old-fashioned steeplechase which runs through beautiful foliage and flowers. Ha, that would be great though.

Carowinds' Thunder Road to race no more
KI Guy replied to jsus's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Ok, as a huge wood coaster fan you've got me thinking. If you are able to disclose what the 5 are that'd be great. Off the top of my head... 1. Rye Aeroplane instead of SOB 2. Hurler instead of SOB -
I don't want to knock your coaster, but I would say with at least some confidence that if a coaster HAD to go then that would be the one we would 'vote off the Island'. It's funny that they are slowly removing Paramount's mistakes. Most on this site used to be of the opinion that they should keep unpopular rides because some people like them and still ride them. I didn't buy that, thinking that bad eggs can spoil the bunch. Terp hinted at activity in this area long ago if you recall.
