  1. So Greg Scheid just Tweet'd this: "Give us feedback - free wifi throughout Kings Island! (KIGuestWiFi) Soft roll-out with even more enhancements coming soon. #kibestday" https://twitter.com/KIGMGREG/status/594887980961128449
  2. lol that news reporter's emotion in that news report is the perfect example of why this thread exists.
  3. Just imagine having to be a "POS Analyst", I'm glad that the type of POS I analyze is "Point of Sale"
  4. I was always afraid of riding on roller coasters that go upside down when I was a kid, never really afraid of the normal roller coasters. So I always refused to ride Vortex or King Cobra, or even Flight Commander for that matter. It was eventually just a thing of me getting older and more brave. I rode King Cobra first since it just had the one loop in it and after I got used to riding that quite a bit I decided it was time to try out Vortex. Never got a chance to ride Flight Commander more than a few times though. I ride Vortex as much as possible now though when I go to the park.
  5. At no point did I mention in my post I was upset with the cashier or the supervisor, but you can interpret my post whichever way makes you feel more empowered. My issue was with the training the cashier and supervisor had been put through. I was simply stating that training on a POS system should be conducted beforehand, and as some have already stated there was instances where the cashier told the customers that yes in fact it was the first time they had seen this POS system because the systems vary from shop to shop within KI apparently. If it was me in the situation of the supervisor that was standing right next to the cashier I would of simply told the trainee,"Hey, let me check out a few of these customers so we can get the line down a bit and you can watch, then when we slow down we can go back to training".
  6. In my opinion it's a woodie, in others opinion it's a steel. Either way I enjoy it, so no more nitpicking from me about the definition of what type of coaster it is. Someone will always disagree
  7. I have had no hassle with the meal plan, I think it's a great thing and will enjoy it to the fullest extent until it's gone.
  8. So Adventure Express is not a roller coaster? And it's not wooden? OK
  9. And our most modern coaster that is still standing is actually from the Bush Sr. administration.
  10. This would be a good place to start: http://web.archive.org/web/20070601000000*/http://KICentral.com/ EDIT: Also, this: http://web.archive.org/web/20040401000000*/http://pkicentral.com/
  11. I don't know, but as always the Facebook comments don't fail.
  12. According to Kings Island's Facebook, the super hero event Sunday is canceled. Edit: beaten to it
  13. Sounds like popcorn popping lol. Side note: how obnoxious was that ride op?
  14. Because they were trying to drive last minute season pass sales before the operating season ended last year.
  15. I imagine a dark ride paying homage to The Crypt would be a slow ride in a circle around the big box with no sound and no particular theme, and then the ride's over. It would seem the only appropriate way to pay tribute to that abomination of a ride.
  16. While yes, training of things such as sexual harassment, employee appearance, etc are of the utmost importance, understanding the register should be right up there at the top of the list of things to learn. My experience with the people in food on Friday night was it seemed like the very first time they had seen the POS system which should not be the case. The cashier at Skyline on IS had a supervisor standing right next to her the whole time transactions were being rung through and it was still going at a snail's pace.
  17. That makes me sad, hopefully they are moving it to a different area of the park? I always thought that that Scrambler was one of the better ones I had ridden, definitely better than the one at Kings Island.
  18. I rode White Water Canyon both Friday and Saturday. The water was cold, and the tower operator was spot-on with the geysers. Must have been because it was the very first ride we went to, it had the dreaded garbage can of denial in the entry way. Must of still been getting everything setup at that point because we got there at opening.
  19. I hope that's just a temporary thing, getting in a train ride before park close is something I did quite frequently last year.
  20. If I recall correctly for the few times I have made it up for ERT they do the National Anthem daily with the rope drop as well. It seemed like the light show on the Eiffel Tower was much better this year during the fireworks as well, but maybe it's just because it's been 6 months since I saw it last.
  21. I was thinking that same exact thing when waiting in line Friday, because yes it is part of Fast Lane this year.
  22. I'm not usually one to complain about ads as it is usually just a small line in between the threads. But now we are getting ads from CNN that take up the whole screen if you don't stop the "Expanding" notification in time?
  23. I loved the ride as did my little one being able to control the ride. My daughter hit the 46 inch mark this year (half inch below 48, so hoping for Beast by end of year!), so she got 3 new rides, the flying gliders, the Space Buggies, and Congo Falls (WWC not open yet), and when asked which ride was her favorite new ride... Congo Falls.
  24. They seemed to work better last night, and the skeletons chasing the tourist was working too. For how long? Best guess is one week.
  25. Nope, just the one car with someone in it, so probably you lol
