  1. Imagine you, wanting an Intamin blitz. Sigh. I want an Intamin launch, like Volcano, or an RMC ground up topper track woodie. But with Intamin trees and B&M bushes, just no Vekoma scraggly shrubs. LOL
  2. I noticed the restroom just outside the gate had AC on last week. By extension, the womens and mens just inside the gate should too, since the are not in dedicated buildings. Also, the restroom by Chicken Shack has AC. For the rest, they should at least add some ventilation systems for the odor and the heat. Leaving the doors open would help some in the immediate term though. They should also install automatic flushers on the urinals. Many people don't flush, because, let's face it, what has that hand just touched? That leads to a build-up of urine in the urinal, not to mention all the splashed urine on the wall and floor. I did my part! I faced guest services with an embarrassing suggestion! LOL By the way, the restrooms at KK, the last time I was there, were ICE COLD, had auto-flushers on the urinals, and the non-splash urinal pads.
  3. Funny that you mention that. I put a suggestion in at GS to forward to that department, to please leave the doors open. The stench is terrible, I hate to touch the door when I leave, it felt like 115 degrees in there. I hope not to spend extended amounts of time in the bathroom (lol) but I feel so bad for the attendant that has to. I also wish that they would use a splatter guard in the urinals. I often stop at Pilot truck stops for gas on the way up, and they have a deodorizing splash guard that keeps urine IN the urinals which is sanitary and prevents odor. 4. I was able to use my platinum pass at Knott's in 2017. The meal plan worked as well. The only thing that was a bummer was that the all park drink plan had not rolled out yet, so if I wanted a soft drink, I had to pay full fare for it.
  5. Yes! I never knew if you could have more than one. Thanks for the quick response. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  6. Without having whatever IRC is, can you have chats on KIC between more than 2 ppl? Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  7. The way I understand it is: SIX bought GL. SEAS then tried to buy GL from SIX, but SIX ended up buying Seaworld. The had already taken a smaller family park (like Knoebels or Kentucky Kingdom), massively expanded it, and then added an aquatic park to it. All to compete with Cedar Point. Massive debt in one park. With all the other problems facing SIX at the time, cutting their losses was the option they chose. They had failed to invest wisely into GL, they just plopped major rides down with little infrastructure work. FUN bought the park and was in the process of scaling it back to a family park, but then along came Paramount Parks. They saw an opportunity to seize on a massive scale and did so. The ongoing expense of fixing GL was deemed to be too much for a smaller park close to the flagship and so they decided to build a waterpark and close the dry park. We all know how that ended. I never went to GL, but I wish it was still there. Both SIX and FUN share the blame, but I think it was moreso the decisions that SIX made that ultimately led to the demise of the park.

  9. Relating back to KI: What if the park still owned all the land they originally did? It's hard to fathom what would have happened today. It was truly a destination resort as originally planned but has evolved into a suburban park. At Coasterstock, the question was asked to the VP/GM who said that lodging would basically be a distraction for the park. That surprised me, but I guess it makes sense because the park is understaffed as it is and would compete with premium offerings like GWL.
  10. I had a strange dream last night. All of this clearing, blueprints, construction, etc were merely a smokescreen. What the park actually built was a full-scale replica of the Eiffel Tower. It was built by Intamin. But this attraction had a Skyride attached to it that stopped at the 50 ft platform of the original Eiffel Tower (by Intamin) and then went to a renovated Drop Tower, also made by Intamin. It stopped on top, where you ziplined back to the New Intamin Eiffel Tower, which is actually a polar coaster until you get to the 300 ft level where it takes a dramatic twist and turns into a dueling blitz coaster by Intamin with green track. You stayed in a Mobius loop that took you under a reinforced Vortex, stopped by the Rivertown Freestyle Refresh station that was closed and went back to the area formerly known as Coney Mall to X-Base. Then I woke up, used the restroom, washed my hands, made coffee, took my dog out to use the restroom, came back, washed my hands, drank coffee and ate a funnel cake and went back to bed. @Maverick44, would you approve of this if were Project X?
  11. I just hope this coaster sounds like Fury 325. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk

  13. Sometimes, parks will invite coaster club members to a media day event. Other times, the park may have a first riders auction for charity. Usually these things are done the day before the park opens to the public.
  14. Unless it is Cedar Point and work is being done on an old coaster to turn it into a new coaster. LOL
  15. But, you said the same thing twice in what, like an hour? See the copy and paste: "I would just like to point out that since this thread already figured out what the 2020 project is, that by definition, conversations are going to be off subject, so this mobius loop of people going off topic and mods trying to get people back 'on-topic' (which is now impossible) is going to continue until the announcement." Like the Grand Carnivale threads, there is no real reason to have many different threads about the same subject. It sounds like your time to shine will be after the announcement, when the construction thread will be unlocked. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  16. I rode it yesterday and the effects were off, except the snake screen, which was in static mode, and the side screen which was halfway blue. I love this coaster, but it takes having the effects taken away to truly appreciate it. From no music in the queue, no AM radio in the truck, so security monitors, no truck starting up, etc, the themed elements really add a third dimension to the experience.
  17. Yes, that is what the worker told me. The decision is unfortunate. I wonder why they decided to do that?
  18. I did it last week. You can see my review on the Food Tasting Card thread.
  19. I ate at Panda for the first time this season yesterday. No chow mein! They also didn't have teriyaki chicken, which is my favorite. The sweet fire chicken was pretty good. Service was quick, portion sizes giant.
  20. As the skyline currently exists. That will change much in the coming months.
  21. Blasphemous! You should be banned to Six Flags America for that comment! [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  22. I've heard two stories about Top Gun. It was ordered under the vestiges of KECO (whoever owned the park between Taft and Paramount), and was going to be named The Swoops. I've also heard it was going to be named Thunder Road. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  23. But with Paramount/Viacom/CBS, if you wanted to "get" the theme of many of their coasters, you'd have to have basic knowledge of a movie that was several years old at the time the coaster was introduced. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  24. I hope that is not planned. They ruined KD's FOF when they did that. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  25. Not ride related, but at Cirque: Gravity on Tuesday, the theatre was at most 50% full. The ushers were assigning seats. I went to two shows and got assigned both times.
