Kings Island WinterFest - Why the shortest operating calendar?
For Carowinds, I think they ae testing the waters. The theory is that they are going to attempt to go to a 12 month calendar, and this is an attempt to go that route. KD usually opens in March, so their extended Winterfest might be a testing for something like BGW did last year with winter weekends. I'd love to see KI extend a version of Winterfest into Febuary weekends, but focused of just the International Street area with ice skating, shopping and eating. Not sure if the ODA certifies the ice skating rink, but it seems like it would be simple task to schedule a recertification during the week days after New Years Day. I think most parks will see added days to their schedules in the years to come. As we know, CF is relatively conservative with growth plans, and this usually pays off for them.

Winterfest preparations have begun?
The current show in the Enchanted Theater, every time I have been, has been "sold out." This theater does not have the capability for the production value of the Peanuts show. I'm so sorry that Kings Island has again, disappointed you.

Winterfest preparations have begun?
^ My two cents: Snoopy is in the KI Theater because the costumed characters need protection from the elements. Rain would cause cancellations, an icy spot on the stage of the International Showplace could cause injury. I like the Snoopy show, but I think it would be better in Festhaus with Tinkers moved to the KI Theater. CF seems to be committed to Winterfest at KI, so I think/hope we may see a major reinvention of the International Showplace to be compatible with summer and winter weather. I hope more future infrastructure improvements like a climate controlled eatery in Coney Mall and climate controlled restrooms (ironically, there is heat, but no cold air in most of them. )

Cedar Fair Reports Record Net Revenues for 3rd Qtr 2021
Per the conference call, daily ticket prices increased and discounts were discontinued. Average in park spending is up. No discounted Kroger tickets. Attendance up, spending up. Giving away the gate takes place with pass sales. I would gladly welcome a price increase for gold and platinum for a better experience, but their financial performance in the quarter shows they are on the right path.

Kings Island Unveils special 50th Anniversary Celebration Logo
I really like what they did for Kings Dominion's 40th... https://www.bing.com/images/search?view=detailV2&ccid=LQYDQ1VG&id=4BE9E04CA3D9587DF31B562CF501BBCB29E68DB7&thid=OIP.LQYDQ1VGLPngj9PWglZV0wAAAA&mediaurl=https://th.bing.com/th/id/R.2d06034355462cf9e08fd3d6825655d3?rik=t43mKcu7AfUsVg&riu=http%3a%2f%2f2.bp.blogspot.com%2f-1uhFsO4rpG4%2fUqla88bk9OI%2fAAAAAAAASk8%2fCsmoX4SaI6U%2fs1600%2fimg_attractions_KD14_40_logo(2).png&ehk=F3yL2FsV6eg2C0OnM9tS7jch5SpE6SxZQry9Evhj2iI%3d&risl=&pid=ImgRaw&r=0&sres=1&sresct=1&srh=714&srw=1300&exph=200&expw=364&q=kings+dominion+40th+anniversary+logo&simid=608029492241191460&form=IRPRST&ck=A979FA38F66BCEC61FBAB1E33687F5BA&selectedindex=0&adlt=strict&shtp=GetUrl&shid=915af3c2-e593-42cc-a6d7-bdd9159af1aa&shtk=SW5TYW5pdHkgbHVya3MgSW5zaWRlOiBLaW5ncyBEb21pbmlvbi0gNDB0aCBBbm5pdmVyc2FyeSAuLi4%3D&shdk=Rm91bmQgb24gQmluZyBmcm9tIGluc2FuaXR5bHVya3NpbnNpZGUuYmxvZ3Nwb3QuY29t&shhk=K7jKd2YkENazkUhwfuwkfHWqbBQeZkI9gqpRIEpjMls%3D&shth=OIP.LQYDQ1VGLPngj9PWglZV0wAAAA

What would you like to see come back to The Beast.
I'd like to see some of the original signage back--the backstory one that says something like "let the foolhardy beware!" I'd like the exit/Fast Lane rerouted to near what it was originally. Track work and make the seats more comfortable.

The hidden mural behind the Fisher Homes Child Care Center at KI
Why of course it does! I was born in the 70's and I remember two locations that were drilled into my head: The Tower to meet if lost and Lost Parents to meet if really lost! While I don't remember this mural specifically, I do remember the grand old days of HB. I saw a HB special on TV the other night, centered around Scoob. Brought memories flooding back. I'm glad the Peanuts gang is carrying on the tradition. We really enjoyed the character photo ops this summer at the petting zoo area. I wish the characters were more ingrained into the park--the Snoopy Fountain show would be great to start. And when I see pictures of the Nic era, and think it looks awful, I have to remind myself that the generation that grew up with those characters cherish them as much as I do the HB characters. Objectively, some of the HB characters were out there too!

Article about Holiday World
^being a unit holder (not for money because I don't enough to make money), i think the parks see the value for making wise investments for making money. As for other corporations making money, my Roth IRAs, 403(b) and what not want all the companies to show great profits so my later years will be stress free as they can be without relying soley on Social Security.

Winterfest preparations have begun?
^I hope we get a parade for Winterfest. I think they want to rest of the success of Halloween Haunt this year before they start beefing up the Winterfest campaign.

Whither Conneaut Lake Park Now?
Was hoping the new owner was going to strike the right balance to keep this park alive and thriving, but the CLP as I knew it from 2017 appears to be gone. I wish Gene Staple had won the auction. The Blue Streak was one of the most terrifying but fun coasters I have ever been on. And the Devil's Den was great.

Cedar Fair and Sandusky agree to improvements, funded by ticket and parking taxes
So, if I have a platinum pass, am I going to have to pay and admit and parking tax? Cedar Point, city strike $100M deal | Sandusky Register It involves building new causeway, rec center without raising local taxes

New Kings Island Front Gate and Entry Plaza
I think an entry plaza update will happen eventually, but I hope it stays unique to KI. Keep the turnstyle building as-is structurally, replace the banners and roof. Add the flags back. Put the classic logo back on the berm. Since passes can now be processed at the turnstyle, replace it with something smaller. Just don't mirror CP like Carowinds did. Our entry plaza needs to stay in KI style. While i like your first rendering, I think it's too much for the space as you alluded to. Maybe relocate the parking behind the berm and move the berm back? Your second rendering is much more doable....good work!

Could KI be hinting at a possible Reversing of one side of Racer?
I thought the story of recaR was settled in the book: Kings Island: A Ride Through Time by @KIghostguy.

Could KI be hinting at a possible Reversing of one side of Racer?
What I found interesting in the teaser was the 2018 master plan blue prints. Why would they include that? Are they gearing up to release plans for the parks next largest investment ever? Trolling? Or just something they had lying around and used it to cover a blemish on the desk?

Pick a Cedar Fair park to receive a Mack Extreme Spinner
I don't know what park will get a coaster like ths, but I voted for a park that I want to get it. MA needs a new coaster, and I hate spinning coasters. I could go to MA and skip it and not feel like I missed anything. LOL

Kings Island Haunt 2021
Wish The Undertaker was back! Does anyone here know if the creepy "Have you seen my Dolly" push button is back this year? I think it was in the former Salt Water Circus area.

Top Thrill Dragster Incident
I think we (or I) are conflating two distinct issues: 1. The newspaper and it's quest for information. Not being learned in this and just going from a common sense perspective, I personally don't think CP is in the wrong generally. They tweeted almost immediately after the accident a very straight forward description. The SR wants more details, but the investigation is ongoing--so when is the appropriate time to release it? And why is it so important to release the victim's name? That should be up to her and or her family. 2. The relationship between CF and the city of Sandusky. It seems lots of corporate folks to Charlotte, which only makes sense--centralized airport, more attractive climate etc. Sandusky is concerned. The SR just seems to stir the pot, which may be harmful to the relationship with the city even though the city has no control over the newspaper. In my opinion, just because something is legal does not make it right. A student newspaper took on a crusade with a University about a faculty member who did some bad things. The paper made FOIA requests that were denied as the investigation was ongoing. The University did finally release redacted documents with names of victims shaded out. Paper pitched a fit and sued and a few years later. But what good is it to publish the victim's names during the investigation or years later when they did not come forward after the paper pleaded them to? I think their right to privacy over rides the paper's right to their name. But again, I am in no way knowlegeable. I just have my views of right and wrong. Had I been a victim, I would not want my name published.

Top Thrill Dragster Incident
^I understand the tension here, but I don't think the company owes a newspaper anything other that what public record requires. The SR, in my opinion, is making things worse for the city by engaging in this fight. Right or wrong, why would a company keep a HQ in a hostile environment? The company and city should have their discussion(s) and if it is subject to public records request, then the SR should request it through channels. I the the SR is actually hurting themselves and the community by "picking this fight."

Top Thrill Dragster Incident
^I am not versed in law about police agencies releasing information to the press--I mean what benefit is there to revealing an accident victim's name to the public--but CP Police seem to be in the wrong if the court said so even if they were morally correct. I did not see the quoted text in the editorial, but I would agree that any amusement park is capable of performing basic first aid rather than advance medical care. Sort of like a hospital patient in acute care that needs advanced care--they are transferred to ICU. In my experience, emergency services will take a person to the closest hospital for first line care and then choppered to a level one trauma center. Sometimes the chopper is sent to the scene, but this is rare because of landing conditions. This would have been very challenging at CP with little open space and tall rides everywhere.

Favorite Lift Hill
Favorite: The Beast. I am biased, but the view, the sounds, the smell of grease and feeling like a kid again each time I ride. Alternates: Skyrush--quick and a great view of what you are facing. Lightning Run--loud, good view, slow start and then the speed kicks in. Twisted Colussus--when it actually duals, it is Racer-esque. Magnum XL-200--the view is great, it is a long ascent, and you get the classic Arrow clanks.

Cedar Fair showing strong results through Labor Day
It still amazes me that they can release chainwide numbers two days after the fact, but it takes 5 minutes to transact a Blue Ice Cream cone
