  1. ^The problem with that is that D-back's splash is out of public access. Jeff Gramke stated at Coasterstock that the reason the water was drained at The Beast was because people threw trash in it. The queue goes right by where the water would be.
  2. I took you off the ignore list to see your response. The website is not credible because you are a content creator for it. You have an agenda and that is to push your narrative and drive traffic to your website. That is a conflict of interest. When asked to source your information, you source that website and entries you created. The reason the marker near The Bat was on KIC was because you created the thread. If everything was double checked on your website, it was a result of you double checking your creation. Brad created this thread for discussion. Your outlandish tales are what you created. Just remember folks, this user created an entire thread about an orange piece of tape and tried to convince people it was for a major project when it really was marking a dead ash tree that needed to be removed. He created a GiGa coaster based on a drainage pipe. Now he thinks there is going to be a major coaster near Old Columbia Rd because what likely is utility work. That's fine. That could even be a great conjecture. But he is convinced he is right and there is no other option.
  3. The Racer needs a paint job before Diamondback does. D-back is faded. The Racer looks terrible, especially with it's shiney new neighbor.
  4. As far as the poster who keeps suggesting that these survey markers are more than they really are...many of us who have been around for a few years can recall that back in 2017, he started an entire thread about a marker in a tree by The Bat. It was an orange or red flag which he said indicated electrical work. He followed the same pattern that he has followed here. The end result of the marker was that it was a dead tree that needed to be removed. No more, no less. So take that into consideration when he suggests major projects. Everyone is free to their own opinions, but IMHO, this website should not be used to promote a fansite that promotes non-credible information.
  5. Thanks, that makes me feel good. I grew up watching reruns of the Brady bunch. Kentucky Kingdom was not around when the Brady Bunch went to KI.
  6. I enjoy Junkyard Coaster: The Ride! But I don't enjoy the way it looks. Retheme it to deParamount it. Remove the helicopter and change the gas containers to TNT and you are now escaping from a mine blast. Get rid of the helix garage and make the upwards helix an escape from an oncoming tornado. Get rid of the billboards and add danger signs. And for goodness sake, plant trees around the exterior to make it blend in instead of stick out. You could even plant ivy to grow in all over the rip rap and that would tie into Mystic Timbers.
  7. But that throws out the whole 5 year plan theory. My money would be that Mike Brady actually gave Jeff Gramke and Charles Dinn the exogenesis of the area The Beast resides in. So, Mr. Brady is the grandfather of The Beast. Think about it: Concept to board in '73. Construction begins in '77. Opens in '79.
  8. Someone caught some footage of a park official reading this thread out in the woods near The Bat. The park official is shocked that a genius has figured out the new wing coaster called Demon's Wing that is going in.
  9. Ouch, brain scratcher for sure! I love them both. Diamondback for the height, speed and awesome airtime. Mystic Timbers for quick elements, wooded setting and theming. I'm gonna go with The Beast.
  10. Yes, I forgot about poor The Racer. I hope that is in the works.
  11. I'm glad I cant see his posts. Sounds like he is up to his usual stuff.
  12. I want to see the old logo used more in the park and not just on merchandise. I'd like to see a slight refresh to the entry plaza, with the logo on the berm over on the right (big and bold, not the small plastic CF logo that KD has). I'd love to have the wisteria tunnel return, and I'd love to see area entry signs come back. And polka music on the Oktoberfest speakers
  13. I love the hints for the celebration of the 50th. I hope they continue to pay homage to the past, as they have done so well over the last few years, as they look to the future.
  14. ^ @Hawaiian Coasters 325I know that i didn't have to watch that, but I did. I just wasted 1 minute and 24 seconds of my life that I can't get back. Absolutely no context to these photos. Some are so zoomed it that the clarity is good, but there is no way to verify that they were taken at KI. For all I know, they could have been shot on someone's drive, a side street or a Kroger parking lot. But such vague context is what we have come to expect from that site.
  15. Maybe the folks in West Liberty have hometown pride too Brian.
  16. Can't tell specifically from the picture, but they might be arborvitae, which are a good screening evergreen. They grow at medium rate, have shrub like thickness at the bottom. They are in the cedar family I think. Then again, they might be fir trees. It looks they are planted on the service road to provide screening of The Beast roller coaster.
  17. Both of those coasters eat through lines, and after park opening, the lines decrease significantly because people venture toward the back where the lower capacity, less reliable rides are located.
  18. They don't get the lines in the dry park because they have reliable rides that don't suffer from lots of downtime and the rides move people through the lines quickly. Many coasters at CP don't compare in those regards.
  19. Both Orion and Mystic Timbers are in the middle of the park, not the back. I think the vacant eye candy real estate from The Vortex removal needs to be filled. (Lack of) Action Zone needs some major work and I think that will come in time. The Area Formerly Known As Coney Mall has done very well in the last few years, so I think AZ will have the same love shown, it will just be a multi-year project. Maybe it will turn into the Haunted Bavarian Forest, who knows?
  20. ^Well, it is the Junkyard Coaster, after all!
  21. Hmmmmm....maybe a relocation of utiities and Old Columbia Rd is part of an infrastructure project to accomodate such a thing in the future so that Timberwolf gets replaced by Timberwolf: The Ride!
  22. When I rode AE recently, they had added in the "whooshing" sound in the tunnels. This was huge for me. The creaking of the lift hill, the wooshing, the arrows...I'd say they are doing great with it. Hopefully the last lift hill will get some TLC soon, but other than that, I think the ride is great!
  23. For the ride experience, I love tunnels for the most part. The exception is Fury 325. It's way too short, but I understand why they did it from the visual standpoint. On coasters like The Beast and Blue Streak (CLP), they are great even though they are in different locations. Millie and Magnum have great coaster ride experience tunnels, but they are ugly IMO. They look like dissected large intestines. Finally, tunnels can be overkill like on Voyage and Legend.
  24. I didn't include it because it seems to have a lot of down time over the years. S&S towers seem to be much more reliable.
  25. I like many Intamin rides. But the safety and reliability is questionable. I'm glad we have reliable Intamins at KI in the ET/WWC and for the most part, Viking Fury. I was upset when Volcano was demo'd. It was one of my favorites.
