June 19, 201412 yr Waiting in line I hear a small child ask her daddy - '' Does The Racer go up side down'' Her dad replies '' No, But it did go backwards at one time.'' I was so happy by that response. I hear all kinda of stupid responses but that one ..made me so happy inside.
June 20, 201412 yr guest exiting Banshee: "you wanna know an even better ride? Magnum at Cedar Point. it has the biggest drop of any roller coaster and goes 86-90 mph." If he directed his attention 70 degrees to the left, he would hopefully change his mind. (not saying that TTD has the biggest either)Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
June 20, 201412 yr ^Although he was exiting Banshee, so 70 degrees to the left would not be Top Thrill Dragster razmataz, who just had too
June 20, 201412 yr I was once waiting in line for Scrambler and this kid in front of me said the Eiffel Tower used to be full scale but it fell in 1956 . I just looked at him like this
June 21, 201412 yr I was once told that Vortex is the same thing as The Bat, just flipped upside down.
June 21, 201412 yr Given Vortex's history, that makes perfect sense, actually. But they didn't flip the station itself, fortunately, though they did switch floors (tee hee).
June 23, 201412 yr okay maybe she was looking for someone to buy her a meal plan You're probably right-she was probably looking for a "meal daddy."
June 23, 201412 yr A couple women in my row after riding Banshee: Woman 1: That was even better than the first time we rode it! Woman 2: Yes, and longer! Woman 1: Much longer! Um... it's a coaster, it is the same length as it was the first time you rode it. Glad you enjoyed your ride though!
June 23, 201412 yr Yeah, I thought of that as a possibility, but it was about a five minute line. Never have seen it shorter yet.
June 25, 201412 yr Or there first time they were in fear/shock and the ride went by in an instant Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
July 1, 201412 yr This morning when I was waiting for Delirium some girls behind me were discussing Drop Tower. "I only rode it once. Unwillingly. After I heard about that guy whose leg got chopped off, I'm like 'No thank you'. Seriously, you're riding anything at a park you think is still running a ride that removed an entire limb? During normal operation no less?
July 1, 201412 yr ^ and from hearing peoples' conversations in line on Saturday, many of the people in that park do not realize it's not the same drop ride.
July 1, 201412 yr Yeah, I was very surprised to hear KK installed a drop ride. I am sure many will remember and want to ride any drop ride there. Kinda a bad PR move from my standpoint. My kids even remembered the incident and were shocked they would put a drop ride in the park.
July 2, 201412 yr Just heard "I'll meet you over at the Scooby-Doo House of Horrors". Luckily, someone corrected this person and said "It's Scooby-Doo's Haunted House". Sigh Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
July 6, 201412 yr Two guys in front of me talking about Drop Tower - one says to the other "you know that thing isn't free fall, you can feel the ride pulling you down".
July 6, 201412 yr At Coney Island on Thursday night, someone referred to the Super Round-Up as The Electric Rainbow. Electric Rainbow is the name of the smaller Round-Up formerly located at LeSourdsville Lake/Americana and now located at Strickers Grove (albeit minus its colorful panels, which for some reason are left sitting in a pile on the ground beneath the ride).
July 6, 201412 yr at the back gate waiting for ERT at Cedar Point a boy about 12 was giving his little sister a hard time mom told him to stop but he kept going . Dad said that thing on your wrist comes off as quick as it goes on . He was a good kid after that. I guess he believed dad. That thing was aFast Lane Plus.
July 7, 201412 yr In line for Banshee: "You know back when this thing opened in 1949, there was a disco ball."
July 7, 201412 yr ^ That just gave me a massive facepalm. Transmitted from Wild Space via my datapad's DROID brain
July 7, 201412 yr Just heard a guy talking to his kid outside of Adventure Express and told him "it's like The Bat. Almost the same."
July 7, 201412 yr Getting off Racer, I was walking behind a guy as he told his son "we'll ride Vortex next. It's a lot smoother than this one because it's steel and steel coasters are always smoother." Edit: just now, coming down the elevator on ET, the ride op asked if anyone had any questions and a lady, while facing out the window towards Vortex, responded "when did they take out Vortex?" The look on the ride op's face was priceless. "They didn't, and you're looking right at it" she responded. I thought the lady might have been having one of those "moments" that I sometimes have and meant to say something else but accidently said "'Vortex" because she happened to be staring at Vortex, but this was not the case.
July 11, 201412 yr This past Sunday while waiting of Banshee, a girl in the neighboring switchback signals me and asks "Can I go ahead of her?" When I look at her with a puzzled look, she continues " I'd like to ride with you"-not sure if those were the exact words but they were something like that. I continued walking and ignored her. That was absolutely creepy. Maybe she was flirting? An old fogie like me? I am sure I was old enough to be her father. Must be the Spell of Banshee- two teen girls almost shoved me and Stink over at the exit chasing this guy who kept yelling he was 18.
July 11, 201412 yr In line for every ride ive ever ridden: "did you know someone died on this ride?" Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
July 11, 201412 yr 2 recent ones: "if you fall off the raft on WWC, you'll be electrocuted as soon as you touch the water", and my new personal all-time favorite, "there used to just be one Racer, then they built the second one a few years later."
