I still question if Hart is purposely doing this stuff to make a buck and then leave like an evil business person. It wouldn't be that hard to tell someone to punch in an Indiana zip code, or ohio zip code no matter what the person tells them (if they even ask). I would assume that when an online merchant verifies your billing address, they just send the billing info to the credit card company, who simply responds with a yes or no as to whether it matches (example). A merchant is charged less in interchange fees the more information they verify on someone's identity; including numbers, names (exactly as it appears), 3-digits on the back, zip code, etc... This lessens the banks liability if said card is stolen and they end up eating the charge for lack of verification. It is VERY unlikely that that the bank and the park's front gate software cross verify identity. Therefore when you pay for a ticket by credit card, that is a different transaction than when you scan a ticket to enter. The ticket may (or may not) have your name on it- but the bank doesn't cross verify and likewise the park doesn't cross verify with the bank for identity. 3 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Is it a violation or a crime to sell certain date from their transactions such as geographic locations via zip codes so a park can see where their money is coming from? jcgoble3 Posted May 15, 2015 Share Posted May 15, 2015 I would guess (key word: guess) that it's more likely to be a violation of the credit card companies' own privacy policies, coupled with the average person's expectation of privacy, i.e. the expectation that you're not going to freely give my complete contact information to any person who comes asking for it. Same way I've given my phone number to several people on here, and expect them to keep it private and not randomly give that number out to anyone they feel like. They have been reminding folks all week that the park will NOT be open to the General Public this weekend. Their FB posts are littered with confused guests. Also, why are they having companies renting out the park in mid-May? They're squandering what little demand they have. I usually find that true with topics like this, Starting To Decode 2014(AKA YoungStud's playground), Son of Beast. That's gone, now. 2015--Customers must be earned--not turned away at the gate. There's an important allegory there. Fortunately, I pay DC taxes. Were I a Kentucky taxpayer, I'd be on a statewide speaking tour by now, telling Ballard, Boyd, Menifee, Pike and on and on taxpayers on what and how their tax dollars are being spent. Some folks are VERY upset the park is closed for private events and very uninformed. They think that being a Pass Holder entitles them to park access anytime the park is open..........like Pass Holders at Kings Island and Holiday World.
