PREMiERdrum
The composite sketch: Really, guys? Really? It looks like my (female) 2nd grade teacher, but with a terrible fake mustache.

CoasterGeek101
At first, I thought this was a joke, but guess not. I mean, I don't remember seeing him at the park, well specifically.

windshawne
Seriously guys, this is no laughing matter. This bothers me. There are more predators out there than you think, some can be right under your nose and you don't know it. My question is, why did they wait so long to release this info? Like a comment that was posted on the article, the guy could be out of state by now. Release the info when its fresh, when a difference can be made. I hope they get the creep. Dieseltech20
This is disturbing for sure. Sad that children are not safe ANYWHERE nowadays.

TombRaiderFTW
I'm not saying that this isn't legitimate; however, I would like to point out that there are time-wasters online where you can create criminal drawings that look very, very similar to the pictured one. There's always the chance that some lady with a pretty thick 'stache is on the run, though!

KI FANATIC 37
Wow that really is pathetic. I can not stand people like this! I just don't understand it! Im not laughing at this incident, but whoever posted that picture of the beatles coparing that guy as John made me laugh for a good three min! Hahaha
KIfan1980
It looks like John! I don't know - I think the picture is a dead ringer for the guy on the far left. To comment - as a parent of younger childen, this issue obviously concerns me. While I will say that I've seen quite a lot of KI security folks out in the park this year, they can't be everywhere and parents do have to take responsibilities for there kids. But, there also is a balance - for example, when my wife takes the boys to KI, they have to go to the bathroom by themselves. Hopefully this remains a one off item and the guy is caught. Maybe it's just me, but I wish they had up to date season pass photos of everyone to compare the sketch to.
CedarPointer
I find it weird that it sounds like she didn't say a word about the incident to park security but waited until she got home...
MarketingExpress
As said before, why was the sketch just released last night, 5 days after the fact? While I'm sure KI security has been reviewing their security footage from that day, but I fear they may have missed the opportunity to stop and question this individual while in the park due to the timeliness in which the incident was reported and releasing the sketch so long after will not be as effective had they done it right away (Friday night or Saturday). If the incident really did happen, I hope they catch him, but in all reality they probably won't.
KIanatic1975
Well, I think it's the mother's fault too. You don't just let your kids run around the park freely, which I'm guessing she did, because I doubt the kid would have been assaulted if a parent was around. Which that sketch reminds me of Mick Foley. But I'm wondering if anyone else saw it. Someone had to have seen something, I mean there's not anywhere private in the park, not even the bathrooms are. But if someone did really assault the kid I hope they get found.
CedarPointer
I doubt that KI security controls when Mason police release something. I just find it highly suspicious that the woman didn't appear to have reported it to park security- if something happened, wouldn't you report it to a park employee who would then call security instead of calling and telling Mason police that her son had been "assaulted earlier in the day"? I really want to doubt this, but does anyone think she was possibly looking for a handout from the park? I really, really hope this isn't what happened, but why would ANYONE not immediately tell park security what happened?

I cannot blame a parent w/o knowing more details (child's age, where in the park- i.e. bathroom) etc. There are MANY assault cases where the assailant is a close relative. Are those cases a parent's fault too? Blame the responsible party, not a shoulda, coulda, woulda.

Oldiesmann
Tower Gardens is nothing more than the park's largest designated smoking area. Unless you're a smoker, there's really no reason to go there. Back when Paramount owned the park, it was called Paramount Story and was quite a nice place to visit - waterfalls, nice park-like setting and a timeline of Paramount films. CF turned it into Tower Gardens and turned off the waterfalls, then turned it into a giant designated smoking area last year. Back on topic, Channel 9 just reported a bit more info on this. According to the police report, the victim was a 7-year-old boy and he was sexually assaulted in a bathroom. The Mason Police are going to hold a press conference about it at 2pm today. KI FANATIC 37
^ Wow, a bathroom! That would not be the place I would think he would do that in! There is a lot of traffic in and out of that place, I'm surprised he got away with it.
XGatorHead 8904
This is very sad that this happened, and I hope they catch the guy. I doubt they will, but hopefully someone will recognize him from the sketch. As the parent of a child around that age (GatorGirl is 6), this hits close to home. GatorGirl never leaves my sight at the park. If she has to go to the restroom, we go in there with her. Even though we're getting to the point where it's getting kind of awkward to take her into the men's room, I still do it if my wife isn't with us. For the number of people that go, KI is relatively safe but you can never be too careful. It's like one woman said on the news last night on one of the stations that covered this story, bad people go anywhere. You can live in the nicest of areas, but that doesn't stop someone bad from going there. For those of you questioning why the mother waited so long to report the assault, have you thought of the possibility that maybe her son didn't tell her about it until much later? Many vicitms of sexual assault feel ashamed of the incident, and at such a young age, or any age for that matter, it's difficult to process what happened. I can see it as very likely that the boy didn't tell anyone until they were home. The assailant could have even threatened the boy, saying something like if he told anyone he would find and hurt him. If that happened, once at home the boy may have felt safe enough to tell his mom. It's saddening to see a few people on here blaming the victim (or in this case, the victim's mother), as happens all too often in situations of sexual assault. Could there have been better supervision of the child? Possibly, but we don't know the whole situation. Place the blame where it truly belongs, with the creep that did this. 74Gibson
Very well said Gator! Thank you! I second everything he says and shame on those who are quick to pass judgment on so few facts. Many parants would feel safe sending a 7 yr old into a bathroom at KI alone. Look at how shocked people here were to find out that it happened there. I am 7 months past an injury and it took me until last week to able to get enough info to decide if I will take legal action or not. I'm not suing but if I was, the responsible party would have not received notice until next week. That's just how it went down. Just because some people abuse the system doesn't mean it's ok to stereo-type or judge someone with so little information. I'm a very peaceful person but, I don't want to run into this guy in a dark alley... I probably couldn't finish beating him before the police arrived. Sorry for bringing aggression to the boards... I've worked with victims of sexual abuse and several were in a kiddy porn ring. Pedophiles have created a very weak spot in my passivism! CedarPointer
It's still weird... KI's restrooms aren't exactly empty all the time, so I can't imagine how something could go on in one without someone noticing. The whole situation just seems weird. Snowman
This is terrible, I have no children myself so I can't comment on a parents reaction. Whenever we're in the restroom from now on, let's make sure everyone seems comfortable and there's no kids that seem scared. KI should be a place to feel safe and just have fun. The Interpreter
I am by no means defending the reprehensible conduct alleged here. I MUST however point out that we should NOT automatically assume the reported incident occurred. It may not have. I am reminded of the numerous alleged incidents of day care abuse a couple of decades back. Years later the accusers in many of those cases admitted they were coached and the incidents were fabricated. This after many innocent people had paid the price. Sexual abuse is wrong. Period. But an allegation does not necessary equate to reality.
