UnrealNightmare
Zzzzzzzzzz... Whoa, waking from my long slumber. Is there something going on in the park??? Seems to me that the same people who were smart enough to track down a trademark filing could look on public records no further than in Warren County to see what zoning permits have been applied for/filed? Construction has obviously started, so its been filed somewhere... Go to the courthouse, attend a zoning hearing (they're public), or even scope out your good friend- the internet. Going back to bed now. Lol I've been searching for the past two days and can't even find a website that shows any public zoning applications. I guess I'm just not good when it comes to this kind of thing.
Creed Bratton
And I couldn't find anything per Warren County's zoning board.
SonofBaconator
My uncle works for the city of Mason. He would know what would be out there sooner than we would. He was the one that told me of S.O.B.'s demise two weeks before it was announced to the public.
UnrealNightmare
What street does Kings Island use for it's zoning permits? From what I can see it looks like they stopped using Kings Island Dr. after 1997.
Bennett
Just a matter at this point of when they make the announcement...since you can plainly see the progress being made. From what I saw last night, they have progressed quite a bit from last week.

KI FANATIC 37
I couldn't find anything in Warren county permit search. Just looking at the picture and other B&M construction pictures, this is defiantly a B&M coaster going in. Thats a great diagram. That looks spot on. But dont you think it would make more sense to flip where the station and the train house thing would be. Just so its easier to get in line and stuff. And somebidy mentioned how this could be a Dinosaurs Alive type thing . They didnt start teasing us with that until like two months before the season started. This is really early to start a project. I'm not saying it's a coaster. (even though I think it is), it's just something really big.
CoasterGeek101
I'm really excited for this project. I think it's very clear that it is a roller coaster, and that it will be very massive, since construction is starting this early. I wish they would point a webcam at this area. Bennett
It should now also be obvious that the old SOB building is indeed staying put as a Haunt attraction...at least for the "forseeable future".

shark6495
spent way too much time last night looking at this stuff online. But I did notice there is a parking survey being done for Kings Island... not sure if its the drive or not. Mason's agenda notes just said the Kings Island Parking Survey

SonofBaconator
So here's some theories that seem to all connect Its a coaster B&M spookyish name theme spookyish teasers Banshee Now lets look at a coaster up at Cedar Point Its a coaster B&M spookyish name theme spookyish teasers Gatekeeper Is anyone sensing a pattern of B&M Halloween-ish based rides by Cedar Fair? Jayblazer
I spent a chunk of time this morning looking at Gatekeepers construction pics. These footers look very similar to keepers. But that's not saying much. Hopefully next weekend we have some real progress.. I will be there. Lol
medford
Was up in the tower later last night, pictures don't really do justice to how much work has been done, land cleared beyond sob. Pure speculation, and I think it's contradictory to what theyve said, but it wouldnt surprise me to see a hotel at the far back of the park as part of the long term expansion

Outdoor Man
I haven't looked on the Warren County sites myself, but remember that just about every detail about Diamondback was in digital print long before the announcement was made. Back in 2004, necessary operating permits were applied for long in advance for a certain Christmas themed event. Here'sa question, is Kings Island in Mason or Deerfield twp?
malem
^ It was annexed to Mason, leaving Deerfield Twp, in 1997 and 1999. The mailing address was never changed to Mason, however.

Don't spoil it for others, but if you do hear something Baconador, please PM me He didn't tell me directly. He was not like "Hey Ethan, Son of Beast is being torn down!" No, he was talking to my grandma last year in the middle of July about how his day was. He talked about the up coming house inspections and said some guy called his office for demolition permits for a coaster at Kings Island. My uncle could care less about what goes on at Kings Island and in all likelihood he wouldn't purposely tell me of the whereabouts of the park. Bennett
That drawing isn't to scale...there is plenty of room behind Slingshot...it should not be going anywhere. Why would they get rid of a revenue generator?
BB1
Well, I wonder what kind of entity have I awoken? BB1 who is at the moment glad he guessed a good guess which actually sort of became true, and hoping he didn't bring about the Banshee. In the mean time, I will say of another idea I have hatched. During or after the line/exit, there will be a mini haunt that will be 24/7, which will probably have animontronics, and or possibly a haunted house which you go through on ride, with of course a prop to scare you, in example Exp. Eve. in Animal Kingdom.

jcgoble3
Were not the go karts a revenue generator? Terp, who likes to ask questions. Gross revenue? Yes. Net revenue? With the cost of maintenance, tires, and especially gas these days, that's the better question.

KI-ORIG-EMP
Would the name of the company filing for permits be under Cedar Fair, LP db as Kings Island with the corporate address being used? T_12
Here's a picture of Leviathan in early construction stages and the footers look very very similar to the footers of the ones that KI are building. Jayblazer
Those are round. The ones at ki are square so are the ones for wild eagle and gate keeper. Now I don't know why the shape would make a difference I'm just pointing it out..
