Banshee Construction Progress

Anything built by humans is not guaranteed to perfect. I'll wait to see a train go though.

We did not mention all the statistics during the announcement because statistics are not what make a roller coaster great; it's the ride experience it delivers that makes it great.

  • It's good to see me, isn't it? No need to respond! That was rhetorical. Under 30 days until Banshee makes its public debut! We can't wait for you to come out and experience this ride.

We have guests that are more excited about our live shows than our roller coasters, that visit the park specifically for the shows. For these guests, the Cirque Imagine announcement was as exciting as

When the dumb questions end. So never. The ride will forever remain incomplete.

Anybody think of digging a ditch there? Simple fix for that would be to dig a gulley type ditch in the ground and boom, clearance issue resolved. But I tend to always listen to 'Terp...there won't be a clearance issue.

I still like the dirt splashdown idea mentioned earlier in the thread ;)

If it did work, it would be bloody.

Oh the rampant off season speculation. Leave the coaster design and construction to experts.

Y'all know that bloody well would not work.

What well?

And why is it bloody?

It's that one with the Banshee haunting it, some say Bloody Mary climbs all over it, leaving the people to clean it up after her. Although, some reports are saying Mary got the blood from rider's feet on the Banshee, such an odd mystery for Sherlock BB1.

Sigh.

I chuckle at the fact that whenever this thread goes astray with tired jokes and puns, no one seems to care...

Yet once we finally strike a meaningful and constructive conversation about the matter at hand, it is quickly stiflled by bitter sarcasm and accusing people like devarious of being "know-it-alls" or assuming that they know nothing of what they are talking about (which couldn't be further from the truth).

I do not mind a little off topic banter but I agree the bickering and slams at people is annoying. I think with the way the seats sort of recline clearance will not be an issue but I am not in the know. I do wonder if there will be a height limit for tall people though.

Latest Banshee construction time lapse shows them digging out large quantities of dirt underneath the low spots in the track. You can see how flush to the ground the pilings start out and see how exposed they end. Crisis averted.

Well shoot, and here I was wanting to be able to scrape my feet on the ground, guess that won't be happening anymore

So where in the video is the digging and what area? I see lots of activity at the station.

Throughout the video. Look at both low spots under the track. You can see them digging with a skid steer & a small track hoe. Judging by the looks of things, I think they removed as little as possible to keep it close to the ground. I would guess somewhere in the 3-4' range was removed. It's hardly noticeable from the time lapse due to the distance away from the site, but there are other areas dirt was moved as well.

I think they are trying to get underneath the station weatherproof. I suspect they need to pour concrete & then begin installing the electro mechanical systems & PLCs.

Our first sight of vertical construction in about four weeks!

wow, already 4 supports installed, and they've only been at it for about an hour

With temps warming this week, everyone will probably haul and get as much done as possible. Before the rains come, we should be able to spike into the upper 50s, if not low 60s. Then next week cold sets in again.

To reinforce the video, I found this picture online.

This pretty much confirms my previous thoughts that they had removed 3-4 feet of dirt under the lowest parts of the track, to allow for safe travel throughout the circuit.

thinking there will need to be some SERIOUS trim-break action before this section. ABORT!!!!!!!!!!!!

That first drop is a doozie!
