Tr0y Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 All the issues surrounding intanim lately, intimidator 305 closed, shoot the rapids closed, xcelerator closed... El toro closed... Skyrush and intimidator 305s retracking and restraint issues... Last month i was at Cedar Point, top thrill dragster and maverick were operating sporadically. I was at kings dominion today and intimidator 305 was closed.... Not to bash intanims my favorite coaster is millenium force but I'm growing frustrated paying all this money to see these beautiful intanims SBNO... It seems that The last couple of years B&M has been manufacturing more coasters and has been Cedar Fairs new go to manufacture which used to be intanim.... Are we seeing the downfall of intanim as we know it? 2 Quote

PyroKinesis Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 They are the EA of coaster designers. They just want your money, and don't give two flips about reliability. 3 Quote
FOFreak Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 I blame the republicans. So does everyone else, unfortunately. 8 Quote
LordSkippy Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 I'm sure one day, Intamin will go the way of Arrow. It'll be "that company" that many parks have rides from, yet is no longer actively designing rides. If that'll be anytime in our lifetimes, or if B&M will bite the dust first, I don't know. Whether or not Intamin's best days are behind them remains to be seen. Personally, I hope not, because competition is just alright with me. Quote
BavarianBeatle Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 If you don't like Intamin, just wait until 2:00 p.m. when that B&M invert that had a two-hour wait when you entered the park at opening is a walk-on! 3 Quote
DontWantToWait42mar0 Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 I have never heard of Intanim. 10 Quote
fanofFirehawk Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 Hopefully Intamin will look at what happened to Arrow, and try and avoid a similar mistake. Competition is good, monopolies aren't. Quote
Tuskin Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 I blame the republicans. I blame the liberals, and the biased liberal media. 5 Quote
thedevariouseffect Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 I blame everyone, noone is solving the problems correctly because everyone is bickering and still earning a min of 167K with full pension and benefits after one term... Meanwhile military members get 50% pension after 20 years of service or 75% after 30 years of service... Fun stuff 8 Quote
Hank Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 I blame the republicans. I also blame the Catholics, the North Koreans, the Yugo, the Easy Bake Oven, and Big Bird. 2 Quote

BeastForever Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 It's because of Intamins' awesomeness they have so much downtime. More awesomeness = more stuff to maintain. 3 Quote
KI-ORIG-EMP Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 My good friend from school survived 30 years of service in the 5th Special Group and I salute him and all the rest of our military members, both active, reserve, retired, and all who served. But most of all, I salute the heroes that never came home. 2 Quote
HTCO Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 This topic makes me lol. But for real could you imagine if Intamin were to just disappear? "Wonder is this gonna be a B&M or....." "Yea its a B&M" 4 Quote
Thrill_Biscuit Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 Poor, little Gerstlauer. Nobody loves them. 5 Quote
SonofBaconator Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 I could see Intamin turning into another Arrow http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?/topic/28068-el-toro-blows-lift-hill-motor-could-be-closed-for-season/ Quote
The Interpreter Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 Especially with the emphasis on uptime, safety and reliability. Downtimes do not help business. At all. 6 Quote
DJSkyFoxx Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 I have mixed feelings. I love Intamin and appreciate their contributions to the coaster world as they have made some of the best rides man has ever known, but yes reliability just isn't quite there. For example, when one goes to Cedar Point, you normally will see a coaster go down and 80% of the time it always seems to be one of their Intamin rides. Not saying none of the other rides break down, but there has been more than one occasion where I have gone to ride say TTD and it breaks down, only to walk over to Maverick and it too is also down. This happened to me quite a lot in past visits. I was lucky to get at least one ride on each of their Intamin coasters. That same 3 day visit back in 2010, I remember waiting in line for Wicked Twister when there was an issue with one of the wheel assemblies. Me and my friends stood there and watched the mechanics work on whatever problem was there. All I know is that once the coaster was back up and running, everyone that had been watching avoided that set of seats lol I gotta say it was rather amusing. Quote
YoungStud Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 This video sums it up nicely. B&m is beer Intamin is carona light. Quote
YoungStud Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 One manufacturer that I cannot believe is still around is premier. They had all kinds of issues with headbanging, severe downtime with the mr. freezes. Batman & Robin the Chiller never worked properly, got the zero g's taken out and eventually got torn down. Premier rides may be more complex than say b&m but are now sticking to smaller scale coasters. Their innovativeness does not even compare to Intamins. If intamin stuck to the run of the mill coasters for reliability then I would not travel thousands of miles to ride any coaster. Quote
YoungStud Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 Under 200' and 70 mph. Yeah it is on the small side. Quote
TheCrypt Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 Lol I guess SIX is adding a bunch of kiddy coasters. Don't waste your money buying a pass to their parks next year! Quote
HTCO Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 I'd consider a small coaster 0'-125' and/or under 50mph... Quote
YoungStud Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 ^ Crypt The only new ride I am eagerly anticipating is the drop ride at great adventure. Thanks for the advice BTW Quote
