Rides Kings Island Should Have - Thread

Featured Replies

This thread is not about what is coming to Kings Island ride wise.

This is about what rides would be great to have in the park it's self!

So, to quickly start off. My thought was the Downdraft at Knoebel's Park

  • Ferris Wheel. We need a Ferris Wheel. I mean, come on.

  • I vote for a wooden coaster - doesn't have to be the tallest or fastest, just fun - and have high capacity (therefore, lengthy!)

Ugh. SO then the park would have one wood coaster.

Now that those are checked off the list, I would say a well done dark ride is needed. After that, I can't think of anything else that is needed.

Those rides are so painful. Ouch.

Maybe seats that face each other so that you can ride again and even out the neck strain so you don't feel lopsided. :P

I agree, a well done dark ride, that doesn't require you to shoot things.

Kings Island has, in my opinion, one of the most "complete" lineups of coasters out there. I think at this point, we have all the coasters that are needed, except perhaps a Wild Mouse. Focus should be on flats for a while. We're adding a family flat and a kiddie flat this year. Time for a large, thrilling flat ride (I do enjoy WindSeeker, but it is not exactly a thrilling ride). I'd personally love an S&S Space Shot or a Screamin' Swing. Either would do well in X-Base I think. A Ferris wheel would be a nice touch as others have said.

I'd really REALLY love something like Cedar Downs, but I doubt those are being produced anymore. And besides, it's always a treat to look forward to when I venture to Sandusky. Superb capacity, incredibly unique, and a lot of fun.

A really good themed dark ride. No shooting, just immersion into the story.

Downdraft kinda reminds me of the old Hurricane at Camden. That would be a good addition. They need some intermediate rides. I'd like to see another wood coaster at some point. Maybe a twister of some kind.

Downdraft... trailer mounted carnival ride.... not likely.

Agree about the Ferris Wheel; wish Americana (Geauga Lake) would have landed here.

Also a "Journey to Atlantis" caliber dark ride in the former TR:TR building.

I know that Kings Island used to have a ferris wheel. It was by The Rotor. And they had The Bavarian Beetle that was like a "mouse trap" ride. I would like to see the Sky Ride return.

A ferris wheel would be a great idea and would be an excellent edition to Coney Mall.

*addition

Some really good choices! I would also like to see the Sky Ride return, probably have to move the Snoopy vs Red Baron and Character Carousel around and then move Sling Shot. They still have the old station house building that was used before. It can be done.

The Story of Kings Island from Hannah to Snoopy through the seasons dark ride good story, and cold air fun times, no shoot em up.

Year round Ferris Wheel at the new front gate area, with a village to Great Wolf, and a great Cluck restaurant, a fancy ferris wheel, and all of it in a Kings Island Village.

Plus a few new flats for Coney Mall, and Oktoberfest takes over Action Zone.

I've never been on one, but a water coaster seems like a pretty big hole in the lineup. Considering the cost of the 2 in Santa Claus, Indiana, I don't think it would have to be KI's big coaster installation every 5 years (or whatever timeline CF has in mind b/w major coaster installations). If what I've read is correct, the coast of HW's 2 water coasters were 8 mil & 10 mil. Factor in inflation and KI could get a good one for $12 mil I would think.

I think Soak City could use another slide tower complex to help disperse the lines from the other slides.

They are a nice addition, water coasters. They are fun. How capactiy will would be handled at a park like Kings Island, I do not know, though.

A wild mouse. Like Ricochet at Carowinds. Put it in Oktoberfest so that are can recieve something new. (Most likely not going to happen.)

A new dark ride, more complex than just simple shoot and move at the same speed. Also would like to see something like Cedar Downs Racing Derby. I would like them to also have a slower moving ride (maybe a kids train ride?) that goes threw a restaurant in the park.

Kings Island needs to have Millennium Force, Top Thrill Dragster, and Gatekeeper.

Here is a POV of Ricochet at Carowinds (that I was talking about) via DeathbyIllusion. It is currently hass green track and blue support beams.

More fun than it looks, Falling Star at Indiana Beach.

And why not a clone of this? The Crypt, at Kings Dominion.

Flying Ea..... oh wait, never mind.

But in all seriousness I'd love to see something like Sledge Hammer at Canada's Wonderland. It would really give the park something that no other park in the U.S. has.

A really good themed dark ride. No shooting, just immersion into the story.

A really good very high high capacity 5 or 6 minutes long dark ride!

Air Race or Power Surge. Or both.
