After "blah blah blah"?

After WHAT exactly?

And don't say "blah blah blah."

Sorry it was something along the lines "after being refurbished or fixed". I was more caught off guard by her Pause between opening and later this summer. Sorry figured the refurb/fix line was unneeded. carry on!

Ya, like they did with finishing the paving of the new toll booths right before season pass preview night, they seem to be doing this fencing and WWC entrance at the last minute as well.

My main concern is those workers are in a lock-out area...was Diamondback running when they were in there? They had to be awfully careful.

If they were in a lock out area, the ride would not be running.

It's likely a restricted area and I assume they received special instructions about working in that area.

They also are all wearing hard hats.

I am pretty confident that is not a lock-out area.

The workers were not in a lock-out area. It's a restricted area. There have been Diamondback photo ops for different events semi-close to that area in the past. Low-zones are typically the lock-out areas. Diamondback was down for a while when I took this photo but they were testing it.

As someone else said, they wouldn't construct a guest path in a lock-out area.

When I rode the train the other day they said WWC wouldn't be opening until AFTER Memorial Day. Don't know if he just had a poor choice of words but I had heard previously it was opening the same day as Soak City.

When I rode the train earlier in the year the young man told us all that it would open on memorial day weekend. I assumed that many on Saturday. But when I rode the train this past Saturday the young man said that wwc would open up later on in the season... I don't know if that means this Saturday or later on but I hope it's this Saturday because my kids really want to ride it...as do I.

I think I ended up riding the train about 15 times over the weekend and heard many statements of when WWC would open. Saturday, in 2 weeks, hopefully soon, in a few weeks, etc.

There was a tweet about the ride op employees starting for the year. It looks to me like they're likely still on schedule for opening this weekend.

My only question is whether that gives the concrete enough time to cure? I'd have thought so, but I tried to research it and some things made it sound like it might not.

Concrete reaches about 70% of its final strength in a week. But it does not even need that much just for people to walk or stand on. Typically you can walk on traditional concrete in 24 hours. In short it will be fine.

Yea it was mentioned in the decoding thread yesterday. I was wondering what it looked like today. That would look great there, and heading into WWC! I hope that is what it is!! Anyone notice I think they planted some new trees by the Eiffel Tower? There was two on each side, on the side headed to the Coney Mall and the Planet Snoopy side, the two new ones was right across the floral clock.

Depends on how long you want the locker, in the dry park anyway.   I don't venture to the water park myself.  In the dry park small lockers are $2 for the first 2 hours, and $1 per hour after that.  Short of a "walking locker" there are few alternatives.  The car you arrive in is the cheapest ;-).

   * a walking locker is a member of your group willing to stay with items instead of riding.

I'm so excited! There ARE ivy plants all along the sides of the new WWC entrance tunnel! Confirmed!

I'll add pics when I can get back there, so far I only saw it from riding DB.

I was hopeful when I saw the pictures of the mesh.  Going to take a few years to cover the tunnel but will be worth it in the end.

Note that in the waterpark, only all-day lockers are available. With a family of 6, the convenience may be worth the rental fee.

Personally, I leave valuables (wallet, phone) in my car and get a handstamp so that I don't need to carry a pass/ticket. My car key stays tethered to the inside of my swimsuit pocket. The shirt & shoes I bring into the waterpark are worth less than the locker rental fee; I usually leave them under a chair.

Is there a separate entrance to water park or do you have to ride the train? Are you allowed to walk through the park, ride the train, in your suit?

There's a separate entrance from the parking lot. It's very convenient to park near this entrance and be directly in the waterpark.

You can also get there via a walking path from Planet Snoopy or by riding the train from Rivertown.
