stashua123 Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 Divert people away from a construction area? Or is it simply a diversion? 2
Magenta Lizard Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 Or divert people away from an unconstructed area, and entrance that no longer is an entrance. They're going to need more fences if they want to block view of whatever is being constructed (assuming) since the train runs on the opposite side of that fence. 1
The Interpreter Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 It is said paragraph 1 is operative ( train tracks, flume troughs--restricted areas) and paragraph 2 is not a concern. Since I shan't be saying who said that--consider it not confirmed by the park in the context of the TOS. Terp -- who CAN behave. 4
CoasterOhio Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 Sometimes even a signature can say it all. (Talking about my signature) with Greg Scheid's tiny hint. 3
The Interpreter Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 People on mobile do not see signatures... 1
CoasterOhio Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 I can't see signatures either (for some reason) and I'm not on mobile.  But for those who can't see, I am talking about Greg Scheid's little quote where he said "ro-" but cut himself off almost as a hint for the 2017 season.  Which can be heard below.  Tropical Plunge Announcement (0:40 seconds in) 6
Oldschool75 Posted April 13, 2016 Author Posted April 13, 2016 I'm hoping Coasterstock attendees get a treat for '17. It would be a perfect time to announce something. 3
DonHelbig Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 I'm hoping Coasterstock attendees get a treat for '17. It would be a perfect time to announce something. Â Coasterstock attendees will get a treat. After dinner, of course. 24
BB1 Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 Â I'm hoping Coasterstock attendees get a treat for '17. It would be a perfect time to announce something. Â Coasterstock attendees will get a treat. After dinner, of course. Â Â This by far is my favorite statement from you, ever. Â Someone frame this, it's gold. Â Speculation will ensue, and diversions too. I just can't wait to see people jump all over a post being moved behind the fence. 5
The Interpreter Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 Sometimes a post is just a post. Give me land, lots of land... Let me ride through the wide open country that I love Don't fence me in. I want to ride to the ridge where the West commences... On my cayuse let me wander over yonder til I see the mountains rise... Terp "Go West, Young Man." 8
rcwizard13 Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 Screamscape has posted a new Kings Island construction report, and with it, a classic Screamscape crazy rumor. Apparently, "a few people have sent in word that this may be the log ride's last season." Yes, the log ride as in RCFYLCB. Sure, it'd open up a large space for 2017, but really? Come on Lance, who even are these people? I feel like if it was the Rivertown LaRosa's that was rebuilt, he'd say the same thing about Vortex/SR&R. http://www.screamscape.com/html/kings_island.htm
The Interpreter Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 Clicks. Gotta get clicks. Clicks equals money. Lance, like the other Hart, likes money... 9
jcgoble3 Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 Then I won't give him a click. Â Better yet, perhaps I should give him a click, thereby eating up his bandwidth while Adblock Plus prevents him from profiting off of my click.... 3
westcoaster Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 Theoretically they could put a new flume dark ride into crypt building!! Always making it a highly themed ride. 1
MDMC01 Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 No... not #Yoloflume (I've so nicknamed RFYLCB because of that amazing Closing Day ride a few years back!)!? In all seriousness, I thought of another possible idea for 2017... a wild mouse coaster, perhaps? It could be a family coaster and the location is so close to Planet Snoopy that it could work. Then again, I'd welcome a custom RMC in that spot too... or maybe some flats, who knows? 4
CoasterOhio Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 Doesn't the ride get plenty of ridership? Especially for the kids? The ride seems to always have a pretty good line on days that it's warm out. Why do we need to make 3 water rides into 2?  My only issue with rumors made outside of the park (like with screamscape) is they don't think like the park, they think like every other park in the business.  We are not due for a roller coaster. If a 5 year plan follows, we have until 2019. This would usually be our flatride year. 2
TombRaiderFTW Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 I realize it's been 15 years, but the log flume was rebuilt by Hopkins Rides in 2001. That came after the ride was relocated from Coney Island and spent most of 29 years operating at KI. I don't know the extent of that rebuild, but I would hope that that project would have given that ride another 30 years at the park... ...Unless the ride would be removed just because of its location and not because of its age? Even then, I feel like this is primarily speculation based on the work next door. But I'm usually more wrong than I'm right about these things! 4
CoasterOhio Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 I guess look for survey markers for the next few months. 1
rhyano Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 I doubt it's going anywhere, why would it go if it is still very popular.... 1
Imperial79 Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 Wow, you can really see the fence in the morning on the webcam! 1
CoasterOhio Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 I'm waiting to see a poster like thing on it so we can take pictures of it. 7
Italian Job 2005 Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 I wonder if the fence will have a teaser on it like Banshee's did or TR:TR's did. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 6
MDMC01 Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 Wow, I just remembered walking by KCKC with the fence up for what would become Tomb Raider: The Ride; thanks for jogging my memory, Italian Job 2005! 1
Colonel_SoB_fan Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 Drop Zone had teasers on a fence in a different area at that. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Tapatalk 5
CoasterOhio Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 I don't think we can justify Drop Tower's opening to a new ride for 2017.  Almost 20 year difference  Different companies.  New marketing people. 1
Oldschool75 Posted April 13, 2016 Author Posted April 13, 2016 One thing interesting behind the train. No grass is growing. The rest of the park the grass is green and growing, but in the trees seems to be all mud or dirt. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
CoasterOhio Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 Because~ Nature! Â Just how the world works. Sunlight cant reach the ground right there, thus nothing can honestly grow. There are little patches of grass where the sun manages to get onto the ground. Â Biology 4
