Maverick44 Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 Can't wait to see the helix finished. It will be close today. 4

Maverick44 Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 These pictures from on DB really make the coaster look like its in poor shape lol. The paint needs done SOOOOOOO bad lol 6

The paint needs done SOOOOOOO bad lol Part of what you are seeing is the oxidation on the exposed steel part of the rails. Without the train wheels keeping that oxidation from forming, that orange rust color really starts to show through. It's just like how brake rotors get a thin layer of rust on them when it rains. 4

I was mainly talking about how faded it is. Also the rust looking color as well. i just know its never been repainted and should get a coat asap lol 3
Waltny Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 It looks like the yellow crane is putting up supports on the brakerun side of the lift. 2
jlarimore Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 (edited) Looks like a larger crane is back on site. Edited January 22, 2020 by jlarimore To add a photo of where the crane is. 3

DeviousMrMatt Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 This coaster is looking better and better. Can't wait to ride it!! 5

Cleo is sitting right behind the large maintenance shed. This looks like the same crane that was used to assemble the turnaround.
jlarimore Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 That's the new crane I was talking about, it was behind the water tower, was just moved. 3
Maverick44 Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 Yeah there is a 3rd crane on site now. We all know lol. Thanks for the 10 posts about it lol j/k EDIT - First time in a while no track is gone up during the day. 2
Maverick44 Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 What am i seeing under the lift hill right now? Truck with track on it? 3

I thought that as well. Then I saw the backside of it looks like something round. lol there is some sort of machine on the ground right by it moving so idk lol Its just weird looking.

Maybe it's just me, but it looks like two sections of track, laid on their sides, side-by-side: 1
Maverick44 Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 You are probably right. I wonder why they have stopped working on the helix.

Weird they drove out of the helix with the boom up.. and it's still up.
LovinMeSomeBanshee Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 They're moving the new crane into place to finish the helix. Edit: Maybe not - I thought I saw it moving but I guess I was mistaken. But I'd bet this is the plan. Either Cleo is too small (not likely) or something is wrong with it. 1
Maverick44 Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 I think they are using bigger crane to lift track sections over the helix . The other two might not of been able. Also they can drive those cranes with the booms / arms up like that. I don't think anything is wrong. Just don't need Cleo right now. Big crane seems to be raising. 1

TheFloppyDisc Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 Looks like we have our first post-headchopper support up. 5
Klabergian Empire Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 I see two possibilities as to why Cleo is not assembling the helix. 1. There is a mechanical issue with it and they brought another crane in to finish the job; or 2. They are going to use Cleo to begin demo on Vortex. 4
Hueney020 Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 It looks like they are about to lay more track for the helix. I am assuming they are putting the two track pieces together from the semi now. Edit: I take that back. Looks like they are double checking the sections of track on the helix. 3
Maddog Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 I'm really surprised those maintenance worker posts are getting traction here on KIC. This site is usually strict with photos. Can't imagine the park is too happy with someone posting current pictures from inside the park when it is closed. From what I read on Reddit, these were pictures someone obtained from their family member (uncle, who was contracted for work, not KI employee). So the actual photographer didn't post these. This didn't come through official channels. 5

They seem to want to keep Vortex hidden. 2
