I get both ends of this argument, but we are all intelligent enough to know by now how the general population of our country is behaving in regards to the pandemic. You and I both know that some will abide by the guidelines, some wont. What ends up happening when you start going all "Karen" on social media is that it draws the attention of the folks that have the authority to say "shut it back down, they aren't following the rules."

But I mean ultimately...if they're not going to enforce rules as simple as social distancing in queues? They probably shouldn't be open, unfortunately.

I simply do not care. The fact that it’s making places wear mask is annoying. I’m not wearing one, so I’m not going. Those who complain about others not wearing one should just worry about themselves.

Yeah, your comfort is more important than the health of every other person.

People with this attitude are the problem.

While the park should enforce social distancing, I do not think they should be sending people out to tell people to move away from each other and singling people out. I think the park needs to have the social distancing markers, signs, and messages playing on the speakers, but nothing else. It is the individuals responsibility to distance themselves. Same goes for people not wearing masks; just get as far away from them as you can.

Well, life can be annoying sometimes. You can either complain about it or you can roll with the punches. Either way, you're not always going to get what you want.

Right, I'm specifically referring to queues. You can't enforce this on the midway, obviously - that's unrealistic. But when you're in a queue...it's not going to be something an individual can just move away from.

I do agree with this, up to the point where, people are highly autonomous. As far as I'm concerned, the park appears to have made strides to do what they can do. They've marked safe distance, they've asked folks to follow the rules, they have signs up all over the park requesting you to remain socially distant. They did what they could. From there on out, it's about people doing what they need to do. You aren't wrong in that the park does have some onus to do what needs to be done, but in my opinion, they did it. They set up markers, they put up signs, they made it known that this is what is expected. From there, it's up to us as humans to do what is right.

I see, I didn't even make the connection there. Are the queues not spaced out?

My understanding is that it'll be the standard barriers, with markings on the ground. But if people ignore those markings...there's not really any place to go to get away from that, obviously.

Hopefully, they will be more watchful on the queues. It's been suggested before that the park may not have every ride open during this period. If true, then maybe they'll delegate a couple extra hands to watch over the lines on the rides that are opened. That definitely seems more manageable than the midway.

The park does have a knack for micro-managing the stations, so there's a skill that can be put to use. :D

Their website (surprisingly) indicates that they don't expect any attractions in the park to be closed. I assumed at the very least that Whitewater Canyon and the log rides might be.

Those two types of rides have been open at Universal, and are on the list or rides to be open at Disney in a few weeks.

It is really quite simple: If you do not want to wear a mask at a place of business that requires a mask, don't go.

Please understand though- DO NOT cause a scene because an employee has asked you to put the required mask on.  You are an adult that made an adult decision to enter the business that required wearing a mask.  The employee is simply doing their required job.

If you cause a scene with an employee that asked you to put your mask on it should trigger an IMMEDIATE REMOVAL from the premises (do not pass GO, do not collect $200).

Have a nice day! :)

And if they add the new no smoking policy and "Failure to comply will result in IMMEDIATE REMOVAL" to the reservation system that people are using to sign up, then there is ZERO excuse for someone to claim they didn't know...but it doesn't mean someone wouldn't say they didn't know...

This is the one time they can ensure people are fully aware of the policies as they are basically signing off each time prior to park entry...unlike the fine print on the back of the pass or ticket that very few read.

It will definitely be interesting to see how this all plays out.  WOF will be the one to follow.  Is there a fan site for that park like KIC?

not sure, but they've been open for 30 minutes now.

I suppose the same could be said for the roads and highways.   We all had to pass a written test, driving test and vision test; we know the rules. All the turn lanes are marked, stop lights working, speed limit signs everywhere. They did what they could, no need for moving violation enforcement, it’s up to us as humans to do what is right.

I'm an hour south in Seymour, perfect spot to hit multiple amusement parks at least. People here are barely wearing masks and are more worried about "protests" and rumors of "thousands" of people lately. (Small town paranoia)

I used to live in Seymour too! I went to school in Brownstown though (Go Braves!). I usually return every summer for the Jackson County Fair (which was cancelled unfortunately).

Considering how poorly some people drive, this isn't exactly an inspiring comparison

Just had 2 missed calls from Cedar Point. Returned call and they asked if I'd applied for a job, said no, so they said probably my reservation. Forward me to reservations and they can't find a reason or any notes. Have Express Hotel under passholder rate for July 9th, and Hotel Breakers for July 10th-16th. So not really sure what the heck it would be. Got me nervous though

Exactly. The problem is that unless people see this as an actual issue (not just a bunch of annoying rules), the guidelines won't work. If we want to move on with life, then we all need to do our part to stifle the spread--especially if we want to gather at amusement parks, etc.

That is because they need staff up there LOL, so they are asking everyone if they want a job.:P

I'd almost do it IF we had a room all season, and I got to ride a coster each morning, and if my work would give me the time off lol
