Plans can always change and there could be variation among parks, however at Chill Out at CP in February, Tony and Jason both spoke on Halloweekends when a question came up in our presentation. Both mentioned that they anticipated some combination of the event style they had to use in 2020 along with some elements of a traditional haunt, including outdoor scare zone but likely EXCLUDING indoor mazes/houses.

what would it matter with the indoor mazes?  They had people shoulder to shoulder at inside food places and FoF's que today.

HHN is leagues better than a regional amusement park.  I say book those tickets!

Right, but if you’re reason for going is simply that there is what’s listed above…

If the park's open I' sure we'll get a Haunt in some form. They might not have indoor houses if that is felt it isn't safe enough yet, but I thin outdoor decor and scare actors, and possibly outdoor mazes will be ok. So we might just see a smaller event than past years. More of a KI at night with decorations and roaming actors.

Not too sure Haunt will actually occur this year (that site advertising the return of Haunt in 2021 appeared immediately after the 2020 cancellation of Haunt last year, so not sure how current the information on that site really is).   When looking at season pass benefit information for 2021, the word “Haunt” is specifically missing (and in all previous years “Haunt” has definitely been listed as a season pass benefit).

“Every year, the benefits and value of being a Gold or Platinum Season Passholder keep getting better. Not only do you have unlimited admission to Kings Island, Soak City Water Park, Fall and WinterFest, but you also enjoy exclusive events”

With the park conserving cash flow with reduced park hours this season, I believe the poster advertising a Fall Fest instead of Haunt is likely accurate.

This isn't KI, but Cedar Point is hiring Screamsters now, I haven't heard if KI is doing the same but it's the same chain. So I think Haunt is returning in at least some capacity. Maybe just outdoor haunts. but if they can do the whole thing, that would be great

Does this make it official (although the article is simply referencing the previously posted above placeholders on the website)?

https://www.wlwt.com/article/winterfest-halloween-haunt-will-return-to-kings-island-in-2021/36980692

I would put more stock into the article if it had a recent quote from a park rep.

I think it’ll end up happening. I’m officially retracting my previous opinion.

That theatre looks ROUGH. I know it’s not being used right now, but man, it needs a major overhaul. Maybe even a better roof and more “tiered” seating so it could be used for winter fest.
