BoddaH1994
Oof. This one hurts. https://sanduskyregister.com/news/518596/restaurant-closes-at-cedar-point/?fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAR3bNAVsKnRKHciwb6Hm7nFBiumtcDqpxuGwQ_kSYsV-nO95VbanbrUA_kE_aem_AZzuB69i3XCRUv4WlU_ifnCSG7tqB9Tp2PQ4MjgRH6G5wBpf6J3yNT9gSmR2q_0ouo1OXlQEbFbl_LH1KbSpVJVa
TombRaiderFTW
Melt has been struggling lately. A number of their locations have closed over the last few year or two. I'm sad to see it go.
Timchat2
Along with Melt's issues as a chain lately, table-service restaurants don't really fit the current Cedar Fair dining plan model so it was only a matter of time. I wonder how much longer Chickie's & Pete's will stick around.
Winterfestguy
While I am sad to see the Melt go, this food location has always struggled through the years from a Pizza Hut, Snoopy’s Grill, to Melt. With all the food failures at this location I would think this location will become the new Prestige lounge similar to what occurred at Carowinds.

Kenban
Reusing existing infrastructure is why the lounges at Knott’s and Kings Dominion are so nice. When all they need to do is renovate the park ends up with a better lounge. This makes perfect sense as a replacement for the tent. It’s indoors, already has restrooms, air conditioning, food and beverage service, and is in a central location. If I remember right Knott’s reused a room that was used for overflow seating at a restaurant. Kings Dominion might have been an old restaurant? disco2000
Except CP replaced the tent with a more permanent glorified picnic shelter for this year - I guess they could always pivot and make that an alcohol stand and move Prestige to Melt?
BeeastFarmer
Did the Sandusky Register and Cedar Point make up? Did John Mattress have to go make peace?

But they would fire me for using too much of their stock and not making Applebee's "dollarita" style drinks lol
Browntggrr
This would be the 5th Melt closing over the past 2 years & 3rd announced closing in 2024. SR not mentioning the handful of other recent Melt locations closing and put this gem from the article seen below gives a good idea why there are issues between SR & CP. No issue with SR posting the story, but give all the information, not just a snippet of what you believe. This leads us to believe if Cedar Fair is willing to take out a revenue-generating facility in return for a lounge to entice higher-paying season pass holders, its signature park could soon be seen as an ideal target. (Added italics & color for emphasis.) It should be noted WKYC posted a similar article that did mention the other Melt locations being shuttered along with Tony's quote that the agreement expired and the entities mutually parted ways.
