Losantiville Mining Co. Shaggy
Grrrr... no hybrid option for KI.... I am holding out hope for a launch coaster - ala Alpenfury (with much better capacity and a longer ride time) that would run the front of Action Zone near to the parking lot over the front entrance and back. One can dream... Oh, and selfishly I wish Phantom Theater would be kept to KI. I guess I'd be ok with KD getting one - but IMO that theme and those characters are proprietary to KI.

To go over the front entrance means supports in and right outside the full-time employee parking lot and next to the HR and administration buildings. That’s not happening.

Shaggy
God I love your optimism Don. Let me point out the key word in my original post in case you missed it… “hope.” Not happening? Probably, maybe, who knows? But please don’t negate my sentiments or wishes for KI.

ReedObsessor
I've been to half of these parks (CP, Great America, KD, KI). I will provide input on all of them, though. Canada's Wonderland: Hybrid Coaster. It's a tough call between Mack and RMC, but I feel the RMC is better in the short term. Carowinds: Wing Coaster. Dives are more common these days. A Wing feels like a better choice to me. (BTW, I've been on 4 of 5 B&M Wing Coasters, excluding Thunderbird) Cedar Point: Multi-Launch Family Coaster. I'm thinking more like Big Bear Mountain style. If Mine Ride or Iron Dragon go away, this feels essential. Dorney: Star Flyer. Just bring in the one from SFA. Great Adventure: Drop Tower, maximum height possible. This is, in a way, part of replacing Ka. Great America: Family Thrill Launch Coaster. I feel like this park lacks more mild coasters. Kings Dominion: Dark Ride. Boo blasters in any form is outdated. Looks like the Anaconda replacement will have to wait. Kings Island: multi launch coaster. If the indoor outdoor is inverted, it doesn't work given Banshee. This could be KI's GateKeeper as far as I know. (...and The Vortex plot remains empty...)
jbeast
Personally, I like Fury and GateKeeper over the entrance to those respective parks. Both are stunning in those spots. I don't want that for KI though. I think maybe a refresh on the entrance building perhaps, but I love walking through and seeing the fountains and tower unfold as it has been since the park opened. I would much rather see an amazing coaster installed into The Vortex's old site. It feels barren along that walkway from Rivertown to Coney without a major coaster in the spot. And of course, without my beloved Flying Eagles also. I'm old enough to have ridden the original Bat and Vortex. So, to me, that is sacred coaster ground. My personal wish is for something along the lines of Maverick or next gen version of a multi launch, or a ground-up RMC (one can wish).
Imperial79
I saw that Six Flags New England got some surveys as well, so 9 parks now. I'd like to see the Vekoma multi launch coaster to Ki, it doesn't have to go over the entrance to interact with the plaza, just remove some of these trees in front of Invertigo and there is room in the spot. Kings Island's top rides for ridership's have been the thrill coasters; guests are wanting more of it.
Losantiville Mining Co.
It doesn't really even need to remove trees in front of Invertigo. Whichever way I angled it on Google Maps seemed to fit it there without requiring the loss of too many trees.

The fact that they are doing all the the work for KI is why I believe they WILL clone it. This chain is looking for cost savings everywhere now and all of the R&D and art costs could essentially be "split" between 2-3 parks that would be a win. Actually if they were smart, they'd be making 2 of everything right now to save $$. The building for it at KD is already WAY better than KI theme-wise and, Im sure they could retrofit scenes to fit the existing space and market a "2 for one deal" as a new attraction, even if they hold for a season to open it in '27. Agree - for the life of me I don't understand why some' people keep beating the "parking lot entry coaster" idea. It really only make sense at CP for me. I think it was a miss at Carrowinds as they ruined the "local charm" of the park when they removed the plantation house entrance. We need a "classic styled", yet extreme coaster in The Vortex plot - ideally that crosses over to the area behind the tower with the 360 loop aligned with the tower to create a perfect image from the entrance. I'd love it to be "styled like a wood" like Incredicoaster is at Disneyland Ca Adv. and then add a flat or two to that area to create "Carousel Park" with a European "tivoli gardens" feel
Browntggrr
The typical enthusiast always wants additions. As a life-long patron I'll take these changes in lieu of "additions": - cleaner parks overall: bathrooms, midways, queue line etc. - fresh coat of paint on/ inside buildings - better maintained rides - stores/ venues/ rides that are always open when the park is open. (while adequate staffing is difficult, closed stores. venues give off a barely functioning feeling for our family). - park theming & music - more shows I would love to see KI return to the late 70's/ early 80's vibe. It was an experience for our once a year trip. Going to the park often now does give the "it's always like that" justification- which isn't right for those who still only go a limited amount of times.

I feel like this was (hopefully) the direction things were headed after the 50th Anniversary season. But with the current state of the chain and merger, who knows.

I'd rather take the park being able to fire on all cylinders, delivering a top class experience and take a few years to get another large addition after next year. Especially if it means we get to refrain from any more ride removals. Allow them to invest in some theming upgrades/maintenance, more wonderful nighttime shows, cleaning/bathrooms, fully staffing rides, painting, landscaping, and more. I feel like the average guest can easily remember a terrible food or bathroom exprience as much as a great ride experience. I love Cedar Point but I have many bad memories of terrible times in bathrooms. Or getting food poisoning from a Chop Six at SFMM.
CedarPointer
The park being clean and well-maintained is a bare minimum expectation, though, not something that new additions should be getting sacrificed for.
ReedObsessor
I decided to add in the other parks that received surveys. SFDK is a repeat, but only because I decided to add in the other options. (Content has been removed since the original poster added in the data at the first post) Parks that don’t have surveys: Frontier City*, Knott’s Berry Farm, La Ronde, Michigan’s Adventure, SF Darien Lake*, SF Great Escape, SF Mexico, SF St. Louis, Valleyfair, Worlds of Fun *Owned by EPR Properties (I excluded the two doomed parks, along with the yet to open SF Qiddiya) I haven’t been to any of those parks, and I don’t feel like looking into them and picking my favorites of the choices at this time. That said, I wonder if all of the ones without surveys are going to be closed and/or sold off. Knott’s, SF Mexico, and SF St. Louis are the larger of the omitted parks, and you would think at least Knotts would be safe. Losantiville Mining Co.
Thank you for adding those! I've also made a little powerpoint that lists everything out, but I hadn't been able to find the rest of the lists for Fiesta Texas or Discovery Kingdom. I suspect Knott's and SF Mexico were omitted because they can a) hold off on additions for a few more years compared to other parks, and b) they are the two largest landlocked parks in the chain. The case for Six Flags St. Louis might be that they either already have another major addition in the works or they are choosing to focus on rehabilitating the park for the next few years. Alternatively, the company is hoping to include it in a package sale like Parque Reunidos did with the Palace parks. There's also a chance that it's been demoted to a lower tier in the chain, but I'm not too sure about that. I'll put my personal rankings in a separate post below! Losantiville Mining Co.
I've gone through and chosen the 2 best options (in my opinion) for each park. Realistically, any option that showed up for multiple parks will probably only go to one of them. We might be lucky to see half of these parks actually get something, but I'll postulate anyways. Canada's Wonderland Vaughan, Ontario Hybrid Coaster (Steel Vengeance, Twisted Timbers, Wicked Cyclone) Log Flume (Charlie Brown's Rushing River Log Ride) Carowinds Charlotte, North Carolina Wing Coaster (Rapterra) Giga Discovery (pendulum ride w/ peak height of 172ft) Cedar Point Sandusky, Ohio Nighttime Spectacular (like Kings Island's Nighttime Spectacular) Stunt Show Spectacular (Steam Heist @ Six Flags America) Discovery Kingdom Vallejo, California Refreshed Shark Experience New Animal Exhibit Dorney Park Allentown, Pennsylvania Star Flyer (Wonder Woman @ Six Flags America) Antique Autos Fiesta Texas San Antonio, Texas Adult Lagoon/Pool Hyper Coaster Great Adventure Jackson, New Jersey 300ft-400ft Drop Tower (advertised as a new park landmark) Planet Snoopy retheme Zamperla rides package Great America Gurnee, Illinois Family Thrill Launch Coaster Flying Theater Kings Dominion Doswell, Virginia Multi-Lane Mat Racer (Rendezvous Run) Family Thrill Launch Coaster (Snoopy's Racing Railway?) Orion-XL200
I never get these surveys...how does one get on the list to get the surveys? No matter the park I've had my pass from, have never received.
Losantiville Mining Co.
It seems to truly be random. I've gotten two attraction surveys in the past several years, but I've gotten probably 5 more general "How was your visit" surveys in that time. I did get a visit survey from Six Flags America right after my visit, but 1/3 of my group that went didn't get one. They might send them out more to folks who only have a few visits each season as a way to say "How can we get you to visit our park more?". That being said I have 33 total season visits to KI and got this one, which is why I think it is truly random.

Only if that were the case in today's world. I gave parks a free pass after covid when it came down to lack of employee resources. When CF/ SF reduced the wages for employees, that free pass no longer exists. I would never have thought the park's (KI & CP specifically) operational budget for new additions would come at the expense of ride downtime & customer satisfaction (cleanliness, store venues operating during park hours etc.), but here we are....... Losantiville Mining Co.
Kings Island has seemed to weather these changes relatively well compared to Cedar Point, but it is definitely sad to see the hits they've taken. I do think if there were a year that the parks dedicated toward improving their overall infrastructure that guests would see it as a net positive instead of "that year nobody got anything". Cedar Point alone could use a few years off instead of continuing to add ride after ride after ride while their current lineup breaks down every other day. Six Flags Over Georgia proposed a (fully rendered) Dahlonega Mine Train re-tracking, which could work for either the Cedar Creek Mine Ride or potentially for Gemini.
