rlentless Posted Wednesday at 04:22 PM Posted Wednesday at 04:22 PM What was your favorite new ride media campaign? For me it was the Banshee campaign . . loved the video of it growing out of the ground taking over KI. I also loved Mystic Timbers campaign. I'm guessing some people probably would say The Diamondback rollout, but I really didn't pay close attention during that year. But I was excited about the new coaster once I realized it was being built. In days of old before social media I liked The Bat, Vortex and The Beast commercials. Son of Beast is an honorable mention but kind of lost some excitement when it fell over during construction. haha Almost forgot how much I liked the King Cobra announcements, and listerning to Q102 (I think) on radio during it's opening day. I don't really remember the commercial for Outer Limits: Flight of Fear but I was excited about getting to park and riding it. There's others that come to mind like White Water Canyon, The Screamin' Demon, etc.. 1 Quote
jbeast Posted Wednesday at 04:35 PM Posted Wednesday at 04:35 PM The Beast and Bat commercials were the best! No social media in existence or even thought of at the time and I could not wait to see them on TV. 3 Quote
Klabergian Empire Posted Wednesday at 04:39 PM Posted Wednesday at 04:39 PM Diamondback stands out most to me. I remember little me watching the construction in the park and watching over and over again the promotional video on my grandparents computer. I'll also never forget the working scale model they had in the front gate. Quote
Cedar Fair Fanboy Posted Wednesday at 05:41 PM Posted Wednesday at 05:41 PM The Best ride campaign in my opinion is Orion, having a disco party and not only that, the story build up is good as well. I don't need to be personal about it because it's my first and probably last in-person campaign, but I like seeing all of the enthusiasts around America coming in and celebrating that Kings Island is getting a giga coaster. 1 Quote
Hawaiian Coasters 325 Posted Wednesday at 07:44 PM Posted Wednesday at 07:44 PM Banshee they really knocked it out of the park with! Especially the announcement video! Mystic Timbers I thought was well done too! Orion was good, but there were some missed opportunities with the teaser campaign. I liked how Banshee and Mystic Timbers had teasers on the fence on opening day while Orion didn't. Especially with the buzz surrounding Firehawk's demise and the future Im shocked they didn't at least do some sort of teaser on the fence opening weekend. I remember the forum here buzzing the days leading up to pass preview 2019 hoping for teasers yet were disappointed when there wasn't any teasers on the fence. 1 Quote
Orion-XL200 Posted yesterday at 02:18 AM Posted yesterday at 02:18 AM My favorite teaser campaign still to this day was for Dinosaurs Alive featuring @DonHelbig. Only 1 of the teaser videos remains, and it's the least great one. Someone who is no longer at the park removed most of that campaign from Youtube. Quote

RollerColt Posted yesterday at 09:03 PM Posted yesterday at 09:03 PM I was only 12 at the time, but I really enjoyed Son of Beast’s campaign. The giant box violently shaking and growling was really cool and intimidating. Lot’s of mystery and speculation leading up to the announcement. 2 Quote

I was barely six and remember it being everywhere. Truly a different time. It was unbelievably exciting, I just wish the finished product lived up to that hype. 1 Quote

I don’t think the name alone would have made a difference either way. But if the ride experience was better and it actually worked out long term, then yes. Quote
