I did go to Carowinds, since it saved quite a bit on 3 passes with fastlanes, but I find Carowinds a lackluster park. This was my second trip and I probably won't go back. I would of went to Kings Dominion,  but they wasn't open this past Friday and their hours was short, but Kings Dominion IMO is such a better park.

And not having fastlane wristbands was a hassle.  You have to log in to a website each day, add all 3 season passes to it, click redeem on each. It's a strange policy, because if you have people in your group, you could alternate fastlanes with them, because when you go to enter a ride, they scan my phone,  see it has 3 fastlanes and let us 3 in, they don't check who's fastlanes they are.

Why wouldn't they have that feature available in the app?

Were you on park wifi or your cellular service and if on cellular did you ever experience any slowness due to number of people in the park?

Idk why they don't have it on the app, it's silly, and you have to repeat the process each day. The first day I used my data, but the second day it was slow, so I connected to the wifi which was fine. Then, you choose which ride you want to ride on the website and click redeem and it gives you a QR code

Here's the website you link your passes for fastlane https://ca.sffastlane.com/

Almost as bad as when Coasters at CP had app ordering yet you had to type in season pass numbers for each order instead of the app being able to pull it up.

I believe the reasoning for tying the new Fast Lane system to a website instead of the Six Flags app is because the website(s) can communicate with whatever server(s) better than the app. It's a bad system, but I think it's still early in development. I would much prefer it if they made FL Ultimate a wristband-based pass and gave guests a way to use FL Reserve from their phone or a kiosk (also using a wristband). Anything to get guests off of their phones where possible.

I went to KD for their opening day this past weekend. I have been to plenty of legacy Six parks to experience their Flash Pass system, so I knew what to expect going in. The employees working the FL queues with the new phone-based scanners seemed to be well versed in how to scan people in, but the issues arose in those guests that entered the Fastlane queue before their countdown timers had expired. The employees were letting them simply stand in line until their QR code became available- forcing those who had their QR codes ready to go to wait several additional minutes- sometimes 10-15. Both TT and Pantherian were running one train (and kept shredding wheels... again), which compounded the issue.

The QR codes do scan quickly, and they do seem to have the FL queues adequately staffed. It was easy to make a reservation in the app, though like many have said I did not like having to have my phone on me. To lap Twisted Timbers, this required me to get my phone out of the locker every time I wanted to enter the fastlane queue- rather than just store my phone in the locker for several rides like you can with a wristband. For me, that is the biggest drawback.

I also experienced difficulty getting the all season FL on my pass to activate- after entering the park, the FL website still said I was not present in the park. I had to go to the premium experience center to get them to manually activate my FL reservations- which took nearly 30 minutes for them to figure out. I was glad Accesso was present to work through the bugs the first day.

I did receive a survey after my visit- where I also left this feedback.

Do you think having a second FL Reserve scanner at the entrance to the Fast Lane queue would have helped avoid people coming in before their timer expired?

Six Flags doesn't have money for all that.

Six Flags has had this system for a few years now.  Allows them to sell more levels and probably get much better metrics. Everyone should hope that it fails because there are few pros over a wristband and lots of cons. I suspect it'll be at all parks next year.

The chips have been downgraded in the VIP "Lounge". We now have the option of 3 chips of slightly more than half an ounce.

A kids lunch sized portion.

To be honest, I feel like that is what the VIP Lounge should have had from the beginning — especially for something its size. Some small portions of chips, sodas either for purchase or redeemable with the drink plan, and a place to sit and relax while you're in the park. Is that what happened? No, but this is one part of the Prestige benefits that I don't feel bad seeing.

The expansion of the Preferred Parking lot was really nice to see, though. I would've preferred (hah) to see the guard booth moved and the service road entrance fixed, but it's fine. I've also seen some people complaining about how the new asphalt/sealing coat looks. While it does look cracked, there's still part of the lot that isn't done so I'm thinking it can still be fixed if it becomes a major problem.

The new preferred parking setup is an absolute disaster. The weird nondescript lane it puts you into at the exit seems like an accident waiting to happen, and they've apparently been closing it and refusing to allow more cars in hours before the park closes even though plenty of spots are open. The snacks were also the only good part of the patio "lounge", so seeing those changed to a Costco sample size is pretty disappointing.

Sadly they have shown a degradation each year of the pass (sometimes negative changes even mid season) and yet people still buy it, and then to make matters worse, they give it away as a free upgrade LOL.

Sadly people will still renew Prestige come August.  Always have, always will.

And the park knows/counts on that.  People will continue to purchase regardless of the offering. At some point they won't but that doesn't appear anytime soon to enough quantity to make a dent in the numbers.

As usual you are correct.  I want the park to do well.  But, after 2022, I don't think there was anywhere to go but down.

I live 3 hours away, and when I go for the day, it's a commitment.  But several times in 2024, I left after 3-4 hours because I was bored. I took last year off thinking it would renew my passion for the park. I returned for one day of the bonus weekend after I bought a 2026 pass and it was the same feeling, but at least had some KI friends to commiserate with.  Had no push to go back for WinterFest either. Hopefully PT:ON will reignite the fire.

I don't know what the answer is, but 3 others didn't buy passes last year because they only visit with me.

If enough people grow bored with the park, it will do damage. But I think the "we buy passes every year" regardless of what happens crowd will always keep the attendance up.

The overall continual sense of "empty space" both literally and figuratively was felt quite heavy on me this past Sunday as I had talked about in the 2026 general discussion thread. And while I am trying to remain optimistic, its difficult when there is this contant sense of things being downgraded or taken away all together.

I'm still in the camp of raising pass prices and keeping them at a level that makes them realistic yet not dirt cheap so long as that helps allow for better things to come down the pipeline, as well as help make the park feel less "comfortably crowded". The lack of things to see/do have really been felt since as you stated above @BeeastFarmer. This place used to constantly have events, shows and things to see and do regularly. And sadly I lived further away at the time and didn't go nearly as often where I missed out on a lot of those unique events.

To stay on topic though, I wish they would really make an effort to make their most expensive passholders feel valued. Have exclusive Prestige passholder events after hours or something. Or some early morning thing. Not saying Gold pass holders shouldn't have opportunities too, but you know, if you're paying extra for EXTRA benefits, make it worth the while. The current offerings are abysmal and seem to keep getting worse each season. I'm not even a Prestige passholder but I would gladly buy one if I felt that the benefits were worth the extra cost and actually meant something instead of only having a few very small extras thrown in tat barely move the meter.

The moral of the story here is it sucks to see the decline all the way around instead of seeing improvements and ACTUAL real exclusives that make the extra money spent feel like it adds something special to each visit.

It would be sad to see, but I think if Six Flags is going to continue to make the Prestige Pass the only way to have access to every park in the chain and have the Gold Pass limited to each Region then the company needs to remove some benefits from Prestige. Maybe they could make it free Preferred Parking only at your home park and free General Parking everywhere else, or remove the free Single-Use Fast Lane each visit. As it stands the Prestige Pass is in a weird limbo of serving both the functions of a Platinum Pass and those of a Prestige Pass when it can't handle both.

Obviously the correct answer is to expand the Prestige resources at each park to meet the demand (while raising the price just a little). I don't know that Six Flags is willing to do that yet though. Kings Island just expanded their Preferred Parking lot, but still have the issues of having small VIP Lounges and reduced offerings within it. I personally think the "free" offerings should have always been this small, but that's just me.

The biggest reservation I have about passes is the removal of the All Park Passport. I think it should be available as an additional purchase for the Gold Pass and "included" for the Prestige Pass. We've been able to purchase it for Gold Passes since it was introduced and I think we'll see even more people buying Prestige Passes (and contributing to the prestige crowds) without it.
