Really great teaser they released! In reflection, I see the obvious reference to the queue music, the cartoon Maestro, and the cat. The video also focuses in on a BB cutout that says something to the effect of "not dead yet." The radio static reminds me of Mystic Timbers. Any significance with the wind chimes in the transition scene?

I recently joined a new (to me) KI Facebook group and it is full of some wild theories. Ideas not based anywhere near the current reality run rampant and many things with circumstantial evidence are taken as 100% fact. It's harmless, but I found it interesting to see what's said in there. I like to see what people are talking about and this has been a funny way to see more.

The Bat had a station wait tonight and all of the other coasters appeared to have short waits whenever I looked. Oddly enough, my train on The Bat was almost a zen ride but as soon as we got back in the station there seemed to be a horde of people in line.

Kings Island General Discussion 2025
Losantiville Mining Co. replied to Klabergian Empire's topic in Kings Island
Construction fences have gone up around the former Axe, Axe, Baby game in Rivertown. Could they be for something new or are they just part of mid-season work in the park? They had the entire back wall of the booth (and I believe the fences up front) taken down with a pathway-sized clearing through the foliage heading back under Diamondback's helix. Some blue paint markings also indicated the location of a potable water pipe next to a lamp post. I'm interested to see if this could become either a new thing for Haunt or maybe even a new entrance area for The Conjuring: Beyond Fear. It would certainly help get around a need to retheme the indoor queue area and may entirely remove the need for an elevator to be used. The attraction is advertised as being accessible, so I'd assume that includes the entrance to it. It could just be August maintenance. Fun to think about either way. -
As do bankruptcy lawyers! I wouldn't be opposed to more competition between Kings Island and Cedar Point, even if it's from within the same chain. Either way, this may be a conversation for another extant topic altogether.

A couple photos I found of me and my next door neighbor at the time in the Mystery Machine prop they had out front of the ride. This was sometime in 2008. I remember bc I remember my dad pointing out the construction for what became Diamondback. I believe this was her first ever visit to KI and it wasn't too long after they moved into the house next door. We would then go on multiple trips to KI together before they moved away in 2011.

I for one grew up with both versions of this ride and even though I SINCERELY hope for a new Phantom Theater ride, I also acknowledge that I have a fondness for both these rides, this is a place to discuss fond memories of Scooby and Boo. My favorite memory of Scooby is riding it with my brother, sister and mom and feeling totally like I was in a episode of Scooby Doo, As for Boo Blasters I will miss the ride as it was one of the only things me and my dad have ridden together as he has rarely visited KI since the 2000s and he rode it with me during winter fest when it was about 10 degrees In the building! I grew up with both these rides and will miss them, please share any favorite memories of either incarnation of Boo Blasters or Scooby Doo and the Haunted Castle!

Money talks!

Hence we see the chain trying to CLOSE parks not sell them to other chains. They don't want any competition in those markets

Six Flags and Cedar Fair Merge
jzarley replied to IndyGuy4KI's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
While I think SF management may be able to pinned with a certain amount of financial and operational incompetence, it seems pretty far fetched to believe that there’s any intentional fraud there. Every single bit of “guidance” they’ve ever published has been accompanied by the standard “forward looking statement” safe harbor provision that every public company includes when talking about the future… -
I feel like CP and KI’s fortunes are tied- if Six Flags keeps CP but sells KI- they’re basically reigniting the competition both parks had with one another prior to the Paramount parks acquisition.
-
This is precisely what I meant by my comment. While Six Flags would lose their "most penetrated" (and most reliable), they would likely be keeping Cedar Point. I think if they were to declare bankruptcy someone in their bankruptcy management would force them to sell parks that have another one in their immediate surrounding area. Cedar Point/Kings Island, SFOT/Fiesta Texas, and Magic Mountain/Knotts would probably be the major splits IMO. As I've said before in other words, I hope the transition from Boo Blasters to whatever comes next will be graceful and revitalizing. Let there be some wooden walls/fencing to block the entrance/exit instead of chain link fences with vinyl wraps. Put up some nice concept art boards along the path/fence instead of a rapidly-printed banner held up by string. There's a lot of easy ways to make the construction site look cheap, but there are also a lot of easy ways to make it look good. The difference is just whether or not Six Flags and Kings Island are willing to put in the time and effort to do it nicely.

Kings Island Halloween Haunt 2025 Discussion
Joshua replied to Losantiville Mining Co.'s topic in Kings Island
I shared a similar sentiment a while back. Haunt's maze aren't always too shabby when viewed as free with admission. But once you attach a dollar value specifically to them as-is, well, there's plenty of competition in the area that frankly does it better. KI really has to bring the heat when it comes to uncharging the mazes. Even on its best days, Haunt doesn't compare. I mean, I haven't stopped thinking about Brimstone's hay ride after I first rode it a couple years ago. It had the headless horsemen, a chase with a massive piece of farm machinery and at one point, a monster takes over. My wife and I usually go to Haunt at least once, but often twice every weekend. But to tell you the truth, we were already talking about doing Land of Illusion and Cincinnati Fear Fest this year before the upcharge had even been rumored. If we're gonna pay extra anyway, might as well go where the price matches the implied value of experience. -

I don't either, but with this leadership, nothing is off the table. If they were looking to shed many of the underperforming parks, a major park like Kings Island could be the crown with minor parks like WOF, St. Louis, etc. That would fetch a pretty penny. However, Six Flags would loose a ton of recurring revenue for years down the road. Since the merger, though, it appears they only are focused on the here and now and will not look at long term impacts . Of course, I say this as a casual observer. I don't believe they would jettison one of their stalwart parks.

But isnt “Mr. Announcement” doing the announcements for KI now? If so, it tracks.

I wonder if the trains will pivot similar to the omnicoaster model of Cosmic Rewind.
-
No, I think they are using a different model, more like a roller coaster than a dark ride
-
That is so cool! I wonder if that's what Disney's Monsters Inc. roller coaster will be using?
