  2. Yesterday I had my eighth meal of the season at the Miami River Brewhouse. I got a Pub Burger and a Coca-Cola (with ice) using my meal/drink plan. It was a decent meal, though I rated it as being on the lower end of "good" (4/5 stars on my meal plan scale). The tater tots could've been cooked a little better. I think they might've also changed the bun? It was hard to tell, but it didn't look like the same flavor/brand of bun as I've had previously. The service was very good and they had the associates calling out the order puck number when they brought each tray of food out. I didn't pay too close of attention to it but I did also think the metal tray looked/felt different. Something interesting we saw was that the Brewhouse has new order locator pucks! The old ones had the sticker with a number on top and just buzzed when your order was ready. The new ones have a digital number display on one side and there is now a sticker on each table that you're supposed to put the locator on. It seems to be nicer than the old system, but we'll have to see how it works out over time. I did my daily check of whether or not mobile ordering is available and it was for Rivertown Potato Works and at least one more dining location. We didn't get too far into that menu since we'd already gotten in line for the Brewhouse, but I'd be curious to know how well it works and if you can order your drink in the same transaction. Kings Island definitely still needs to implement the order number system and install order number screens outside of each location though.

  4. My new theory for the feet behind the curtain is that it’s meant to open to reveal a pair of disembodied legs that allude to the sawing in half trick (either being implied to be Larry’s or just another random characters). On the call board there’s a note from Houdelini asking for a new assistant for his trick, so maybe this calls forward to this? I lean towards this being a broken effect since the air blast seems out of place, and I think the legs peeking out is too subtile of a detail compared to where they hide small gags in the rest of the ride.
  5. My understanding is it was the conflict of Nickelodeon Universe and Scooby Doo that made the dark ride part of I-Street. Likely, to avoid future issues, it just never changed.
  6. In PT:E, during banter about NLL wanting a spot in the show, Maestro tells him something to the affect of "You should never have volunteered for Houdelini's 'sawing an usher in half trick.'"
  7. I keep hearing things about the "feet" behind the curtain in the houdelini scene. People have been speculating that the curtain is broken or some affect there doesn't work however isn't there lore about no legs Larry losing his legs during a magic trick? Any thoughts on if this is a broken effect or is this an Easter egg? Has anyone else heard that lore story about how Larry lost his legs?

  9. A funny glitch on Carowinds' website. The "Rides & Experiences" tab has been relabeled as "Fast Lane". It still contains all of the normal content, only the tab name at the top of the page changed for some reason. Also peep the new park logo 👀
  10. I think the Larry on the turntable is the static figure and the gargoyle counts as a prop.
  11. Is the curtain drawn in that image or is it more or less ripped? One thing I'd have liked to see come back is either the Shakespearean statue or the Centurion. I think the "static figure" mentioned alongside the 33 animatronics was the gargoyle, whose eyes seem to switch between a static color light and multicolored lights. If either statue were to come back I think they could go great on either side of that "audience seating" screen where there are currently just curtains. There's not a ton of room between the set and the wall, but there's probably enough space for a statue.
  12. This is probably the best explanation but I still have a gut feeling something’s supposed to be there. From what I’ve noticed from my rides is that the air blast is aimed directly at the cars coming from a tube to the left of the curtain. Maybe there’s supposed to be audio in that section that would’ve given context that was turned off. I know the quality is 2 pixels tall, but the curtain seems to be open in the (admittedly very early) concept sketch so maybe it’s an effect? The most hot or miss effects have been the two screens that have been broken since opening weekend, and the two heat effects have been on and off. There’s been noticeable changes within the audio, so hopefully they’re focusing on the major areas and are working to maintain the ride throughout the season.
  13. I think the air blast is supposed to rustle the curtain to add to the idea that there's someone behind it. If we're looking for who it could be then I'd try to look at everyone's shoes to see whose match best. More effects breaking each week feels like something that is expected for the first few months of a new dark ride like this. From what I've seen, some things have been fixed while others were left as-is over the past few weeks. The smells in particular have been the biggest on or off things for me. The boiler screen might be an issue of it (theoretically) not being easily accessible. I think it's just a standard commercial TV, though, so I don't actually know what its issue might be.
  14. See, I thought the same thing, except the blast of air there makes no sense, and it seems like an awfully convenient place to reuse the mechanism from the gag in Boo Blasters where the curtain opened to reveal the ghost holding a teddy bear. But maybe the blast of air is supposed to go with Hilda's wailing and is just mistimed? I feel like it's a bit troubling that more effects seem broken each weekend, and they don't seem to be getting fixed (i.e. the first boiler's TV screen).
  15. It is really the only reason I keep the Prestige Pass at this point. I live VERY close to the park, less than a 20 minute drive. My daughter likes to go with me, and we both like Skyline and Coasters. The vast majority of my visits are less than an hour, we pop by, ride 1 coaster with the pass, get food on the way out with the dining plan, stop by VIP for a cookie/chips, and go home. We go probably 3-4 times a week during the summer with exactly that schedule.

  17. Thanks for posting. They are very talented. With all that talent why don't they let them make true 3D raised lettering for The Racer's trains?
  18. I do think they will need to find a way to change it up a little, but the storyline is fine as is IMO. They really need to add a few more voicelines/line variations for each character and change up the queue audio as well. It would also be really good to implement a "B Mode". I've noticed that the first furnace screen doesn't work in about 1/4 of the POVs I've seen from throughout the time it's been open. If anything is going to be changed for a potential Halloween/holiday overlay, you can add me to the list of people begging for Kings Island to use some of the original dialogue for it. Even if it's just an overlay during Haunt (keep the new stuff playing during Tricks & Treats) that would give the adults another fun thing to do if they don't want to pay to go through the mazes.
  19. I'm pretty sure the shoes behind the curtain is just supposed to be a spooky Easter egg, to do something with that gap there.
  20. I still haven't rode the ride yet, not until we make a trip to KI later this month. I've seen POVs but which character is having problems behind the curtain?
  21. "Every sign has a starting point. 🔨 🎨 We're going behind-the-scenes with a look inside the #KingsIsland sign shop, where the park’s personality is built, painted & brought to life!" Kings Island just released this video and I thought it was very interesting & informative! https://www.facebook.com/share/v/18rtkQmBj9/
  22. I would say that the flashlight aspects of the ride help with its rerideability, but compared to some other parks all the KI dark rides have stuck around for a comparatively short time. I think if they changed up the audio for a holiday overlay that could extend the variety for the passholders who’d be riding this attraction frequently. Hopefully these characters become mainstays in the park, and in 10-15 years they choose to update the ride rather than making a 7th dark ride in that space. I haven’t seen this talked about much so I imagine most people won’t notice, but the onboard audio is different for every other car which I appreciate. And they are seemingly adjusting the audio so each car only hears it once. Hopefully by June the ride can be operating and it’s full potential (I still have no idea what’s going on with that character behind the curtain)
  23. Its sloppy and really just absolutely sick of AI being used everywhere. There is literally nothing good about AI that I can think of. I just want clean air, water, land and for people to use the thing between their ears.
  24. I feel like KI might have to make alterations in a few years. There’s nothing wrong with the Opening Night story, but I feel like plot based rides usually have a shelf life, or at least the story does. Compare that to Mystic Timbers or Verbolten where there are multiple story possibilities that keep the experience feeling fresh. Then look at more ambiguous rides like the Haunted Mansion and the original Phantom Theater where the mystery allows for deeper lore building and immersion, which is part of what makes them feel timeless. For more context- for the original Phantom Theater: Maestro is the main speaker where he goes through 6 different spiels in the que, I believe 2 while he’s holding the curtain open, and I believe 3 when you see him before the prop room. There are other characters with minor speaking roles I’m sure @BryanJay can list but what I’m trying to say is that there was variety in the ride. Compare that now where you hear: ”Are you ready to be an usher?- it’s 10 minutes ‘til showtime” or “with one wave of my magic wand” on repeat. Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy the park brought back the IP- I just hope they look into adding more variety in the audio for future seasons to add to the experience.
  25. Six Flags’ first quarter 2026 results reveal a company focused on guest spending, regional season pass growth, operational discipline and long-term stability beyond roller coasters. Read more: https://themeparksbydon.com/six-flags-2026-strategy-theme-parks/
  26. I think it's about what you enjoy. I actually would put Mystic Timbers barely in my top ten in the park let alone consider it an amazing wooden coaster but then again I'm not a huge GCI fan... I find the trains and restraints uncomfortable and getting thrown around like a ragdoll side to side constantly while whipping over airtime hills is just not my thing. If I want airtime give me a straight pop up and down with a buzz bar like Phoenix at Knoebels. I am still team Beast due to the incredible terrain and the fact that there is no other coaster quite like it despite its lack of traditional elements - not many other coasters are a 65mph train ride through the woods haha
  27. It's my #1 wooden coaster as well. It wasn't until I rode a night ride on Dollywood's Lightning Rod 10 years later, that anything wood or steel compared even closely in excitement and intensity. I love Mystic Timbers, but I think there is a market at Kings Island for a wooden coaster that is taller and faster (maybe even longer!) than The Beast (as long as it's properly executed this time). It's just rather unfortunate because wooden coasters are cheaper. For the money they spent on the ho-hum Orion they could have built the best wooden coaster in the world.
  28. I think I saw someone say the park is shooting for a Memorial Day weekend opening. That would be a nice goal if they're still working on it. It could also open this weekend or next weekend if the lineup was to get Monster open, then Adventure Express, then Invertigo. Zephyr might open before Invertigo, but that would still line up with the "one ride a week" theory.
  29. Exactly this. The Voyage is the one and ONLY roller coaster on the planet that, if magically placed side by side with SV, would make the decision hard on which to ride if I only had time to ride one.
