  1. So we can watch our own POV of I305 with our personal voices, instead of listening to Blobb Alvey yell "TWISTYYYYYYYYY" through the whole ride!!!

  2. And just because a ride operator may not notice or stop you from filming on a ride, even if it is a GoPro camera and truly is secured, the fact remains that it is against park rules. Honestly, you're better off just leaving it behind at home.

  4. Just keep all your cameras and such put away.Im sick of being stopped on lift hills from people wanting to record.I told some guy on The Beast last year," If that camera comes back and hits my kid in the face, you might not make it back to the station".I was joking kinda, but he got the idea and put it away.I get hit by spit, pop, coins, bugs,I dont need a camera in my face! Even if its mounted to your chest,I cant see them allowing it,some moron will take it off during the ride.I would love to record some rides, but I like the rule that I cant,to many idiots out there!

  5. Paul??? Here is Gulliver's Rub-A-Dub as it appeared in the early 70's, before being revamped in 1978. There were several areas of this ride including The Flintstons, Yogi Bears Park, Top Cat City and a Haunted House section. If anyone has additional pictures of this ride, please post them!!! In the mean time, enjoy The Flintstones section: Yogi Bear:

  10. As the others have replied, contact the park. I think the parks generally only would allow organizations to do so. Not a diss to you FOFFreak but I often wonder why so many people want to get their own POVs of rides when there are already numerous ones on Youtube.

  15. It's not just loose articles; photography on most rides is expressly prohibited. At Holiday World cameras aren't permitted onto rides at all, even if secured in a zippered pouch/pocket. They must be left at the station or with a non-rider.

  16. I feel bad for the person who were in a relationship with Son of Beast (if there was anybody). First he rises on top, then goes into deep depression, leading to severe mental illness. Poor guy.

  19. Although you can never have enough B&Ms, I'd like to see an Intamin Giga Coaster or Maverick type-ride for variety.

  20. ...to be fair, much the same could be said for Holiday World or Michigan's Adventure, for that matter.

  21. Kinda starting to be a little concerned for Paul. I hope he is ok! In the mean time, here is another pic I met the former employee who helped construct this piece. The reliefs were sculpted in clay and cast in fiberglass by this individual while the sign department assembled and painted the final product. Enjoy! ~Josh

  22. Maybe it's just me, but other members' posts like UncleHenry have really gotten on my nerves lately. Too many people are using their seniority as an excuse to bash on the community, and that's what I take issue with.

  24. It's even more fun when you're working at a ride the first season after the minimum height was raised. I had this experience when working at what was then Beastie in 2005. I don't know the park's reasons for changing the height requirement, but we ended up with a lot of angry parents whose kids were tall enough to ride it in 2004 but hadn't yet hit the 42" requirement to ride it in 2005.

  25. I tend to enjoy riding with my friends the most. I'd rather not be so promiscuous with my riding partners.

  26. Nice photos Josh...i'll add one that I don't think i've ever posted: Perry Meek, the main guy in the photo now designs outfits for Lady Gaga: http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/from-hindley-street-to-dressing-gaga/story-e6frea6u-1226095969220 KI "Wall Of Fame" here he comes. Where is Paul? (Hopefully somewhere having fun!)

  33. No words can express how weird some people in the world are. Is "objectum sexuality" even real?! Apparently as much as everyone's opinions on the sex of the coasters at KI. Since I can't seem to find words to express my views about that in a PG format, I guess I will just keep them to myself.

  37. The re-ride policy at Dollywood provides a perfect opportunity for someone to make up reasons for the policy. I've heard several on my crew tell guests they had to go around because we have a tin roof. The Blazing Fury version is cracks in the ceiling. Flyer, who HATES enforcing this policy!

  38. Yes, it is for FUN, but those of us who have been here for a very long time can say it has at least SIX other purposes, from education to fellowship to collaboration to commiseration and on and on. At times, we have dealt with the joys of new life, with the sadness of deaths of family members, friends and even members. Like much of life, to a very large extent, this place is what we make it. Civility is important, yes. That being said, each of us brings a different tone, level of interest, level of information, willingness and/or ability to share information, etc. to this here place. Some who have the most information or insight to share may APPEAR to be the least gracious when in fact that is very seldom the case. Also, many here have known each other for a good many years. Others have not even met. What may appear to be rude may be gentle ribbing. It's paramount we be amused, entertained and informed. It's more important that we not be misinformed on matters of great importance. Stick around a while and the carousel of life will take many turns, some grand and good, others more difficult to accept. If we can help with that, this place has served its porpoise.

  44. I have ridden roller coasters for over 40 years. Unless a "vibration" creates a danger to the passengers, there is no need to "fix" it. In the 70's and 80's people rode The Racer and The Beast in their original form, wound up with visible bruises, and said, "That was awesome!"

  45. I'll go ahead and place my idea. I would absolutely love a new Rocky Mountain coaster. In case anyone is wondering, they are the people that designed the New Texas Giant at Six Flags Over Texas, Outlaw Run at Silver Dollar City, and Iron Rattler at Six Flags Fiesta Texas. I think it would be a fantastic new addition with the loss of Son of Beast, that gives the look of a wooden coaster, but rides like a new B&M. Oh yea, and they have the ability to go upside down. I'll leave a couple pictures and a video to show a visual of what their rides are like.

  46. The poor girl sitting at the entrance of FOF was asked at least three times in a minute how long was the wait for FOF. Each time she cheerfully answered: "Forty-five minutes to an hour.... just like is says on the sign."
