In all honesty, 98% of protein spills occur once the train hits the final break run. HTCO, speakin from experience.17 points

Another unintentionally funny Tb misread of a post title: I was half asleep when I read this, and didn't think of Cheetah Hunt as the ride, but for some reason thought this was going to be a story about some people on a safari being trapped by an ape!13 points

It's that sense of "almost there" that gets them. I had the same thing happen to me on my 21st birthday. We made it back onto my street and I felt a sense of relief. 10 seconds later I was giving the side of the car a new paint job. Anyway, I'd hate to be that first person to throw up on one of Banshee's nice new cars. That guilt would never leave me.10 points

Oh fine... I'll share my Kings Island couple story. See, back in 2010, I was at Kings Island for the first time since my early childhood. I had recently conquered my fear of coasters, and it just so happened that my quest to ride them all led me to the girl of my dreams. We met in Coney Mall. I knew it was love at first sight. Sure, she's a bit older than me, but she was still looking fine for her age. On top of that, I noticed immediately that she was wearing my favorite shade of blue. How can I resist a nice lady with good taste in colors, right? As soon as we met, she had me head-over-heels several times over. We were together the rest of the day after that first meeting. We were even together for the fireworks that night. I've been extremely happy to have her as a part of my life ever since, except for a brief period back in July of 2011 when she didn't seem to want anything to do with me. Or anyone else for that matter. She just barricaded herself away from people and refused to do anything. I never fully understood what was the matter, but a few weeks later, it was as if nothing had ever happened and there we were, spending nearly every waking moment together whenever we were both at Kings Island. Since then, the only bad time in our relationship was when her father Ron (who had become one of my personal heroes) passed away. It's been a turbulent relationship, but I don't regret a minute of it. And that's the story of me and Vortex. -homestar92, who suddenly realizes that he probably needs a girlfriend...9 points

I found a link to this year's information in a GKTW email newsletter. Home page for the event: http://support.gktw.org/site/PageNavigator/coastingforkids.html KI's registration page: http://support.gktw.org/site/TR?fr_id=1236&pg=entry My donation page: http://support.gktw.org/site/TR/CoastingForKids/General?px=1071755&pg=personal&fr_id=1236 Note that this year they are doing the fundraising directly through GKTW's website, rather than using FirstGiving. The system is not as clear as the FirstGiving system was, but hopefully this will get rid of FirstGiving's transaction fees. As far as the itinerary, we're starting at 9:00 am instead of 8:00 am this year. We have Diamondback from 9 to 10, then Red Racer from 10 to 6 (which is an hour later than previous years). We also get a half hour on Banshee starting at 10:30 pm. Shirts appear to be purple this year. I have taken the liberty of creating Team KICentral, so I hope to see you there!6 points

They put gravel beneath Diamondback in the low to the ground places. My guess is so there is no need to mow grass in those low areas. Example of this at the bottom of the second drop: Photo taken from Google images..6 points

Is it okay if I take old bags to parks? I have, you know -- but, they weren't loose articles.6 points

Idk if this counts as a cute Kings Island couple story thing, but my girlfriend of almost 4 years agreed to officially start dating me while I was texting her while waiting in line for The Beast. And we have had our fair share of trips to the park since then6 points

I've never been evacuated from a ride except on purpose for training. (For the record, being evacuated from the lift on Mystery Mine is pretty intense.) However, I have a couple friends that seem to break everything they go on. My friend Dainan is notorious for getting evacuated ... he had an evac from Dinosaur at Animal Kingdom earlier today.6 points

I already published my link to my Facebook and told all my friends that if they can DOUBLE my goal, I'll sit on a wheel seat all day on The Racer. I hope I for my sake I don't regret that decision. But I hope for the sake of Give Kids the World that I do regret it... When you click the sign up link, there is a button to join a team. Just click that, search for KICentral, and then finish the signup as normal.5 points

Apparently, I was very excited to see Snagglepuss. I think I frightened that blond child with my enthusiasm.5 points

Season goals? I don't really have any. I just go because I love going. This park holds so many memories, I am always just happy to be there.5 points

Another rare Face/Off on ride photo. I believe this was 1999, maybe 2000. I look so young, lol. Somewhere, I have an Adventure Express ORP. I'm hoping to find it and my FOF ORP from 1996.5 points

Here's my guess; the low areas of the ride are areas where nearby wildlife or other things can make their way onto or around the track, so they fence it off and, since they fence it off, they put gravel down so they don't have to access the area to mow.4 points

The big bubble is the original Kings Island Theater. It was air supported, and eventually was removed after it collapsed. Large fans produced the air that supported the structure.4 points

I can understand not letting orcas born into captivity go into the ocean, but I am bothered by the whales that have just been captured even though we have evolved beyond that. Humans take a long time to get the picture, don't we? The Iranian whale is newly captured from the ocean, and is now isolated? I understand that it would be difficult to protest this, due to the physical distance, but also because of the political environment these new whales are in. Let's face it, it's easy to protest Seaworld in America, we take our freedom of speech for granted, but I like my head on my shoulders, I'd be afraid to be an Iranian activist.4 points

Try getting stuck on Splash Mountain like me just before the lift to the final drop. The reason it took such a long time was due to the many animatronics in that scene and the park obviosuly concerned about damage to them while benig led to safety. One at a time, walking gingerly between the props until we were ushered out backstage and back around to the front.4 points

The only ride I have ever been stuck on for a long period of time was the Skyride at Cedar Point. We were in the middle of the ride at the highest point for about an hour and a half. They let us jump the line for Raptor and Millennium Force after. I wasn't overly upset it was a good view.3 points

The queue near the brake run will possibly be in range of protein spills. Hopefully they have something there to keep people in line out of the splash zone...3 points

Yes, All Wheels Extreme would work in the theatre. Some modifications would have to be made, obviously, but the stage setup and ramps could fit. I'd like to see a stunt show.3 points

It happens. Coaster valley its not a big deal that is why they have a block brake system in use. I would rather be stuck on that coaster than stuck at my desk at work.3 points
